Got brutally humbled in each and every match, guess I'll see that shiny F the whole month.
Did 20 rolls and got the whole kit for el sirvienta verde. My dogshit latency seems to be unable to manage her fourth ball and I find myself more comfortable with her thin beam, and can't get used to rotate skills.

you can watch some high level streamers (some linked in the op, search for ボンバーガール on youtube and filter by live) to try to pick up new tricks. it will take you a while to actually learn how to play the game and only if you put some effort into it. it's deeper than it looks

By waiting on the last possible frames before an enemy bomb explodes you can displace a bomb on your screen but make it explode on the enemy's screen making the enemy unable to block again immediately. This is more apparent the more laggy you are and the faster the bomber's animation (A laggy Shiron with 180+ ms displacing a bomb with her fast pick-up animation).

the download speed for the game is always awful in general. something about konami only downloading on a single thread or whatever the network equivalent is. ping can definitely be bad though, but from what I've heard from other japanese arcade players, konaste with gaijins is fairly similar to the arcade experience, since they said the arcade machines have bad ping anyway

not true lol the chances of phasing happening in arcade is significantly lower in arcade than in konasute (assuming it's not JP-JP connections). also as a shooter it's extremely noticeable when your shots react even a fraction of a second slower than normal. the annoying part is when the host is good but the enemy attacker of all things is the one with high ping so most everything is running smooth except the one person you need to pay attention to the most

When I start up the game, it tells me that my internet speed is slow and I might not able to play comfortably. Then it just stays forever on the Bench Test screen, the timer on top left is also frozen. What to do to fix? the game allows for full 360 degree control
playing on fightstick would be akin to playing on keyboard as you're only able to move in cardinal directions and their diagonals
this would be fine for bomber, attacker, and blocker as their skills are only aimed in the four cardinal directions, but it would be suboptimal for shooters since they need 360 aiming

I love blocker gameplay
I get this insane high when both bases are under attack and have the HP ticking down and then I cockblock enemy with heals and blocks and we win just by inch because of those delays

To get closest to arcade layout I play pad left stick, keyboard arrow keys and number keys, and mouse. My pad is literally only for the left stick while everything else is mouse keyboard. The default keyboard layout should work fine, just need to remember that Del is the Return to Base button and Enter is the Detonate button

The only weird part is the rightmost chat button; unless you're using a Japanese keyboard the last button is actually ' and not =

1. watch streamers. sometimes watching the top players might not teach you too much if they're doing stuff that's too advanced for you but there's plenty of people streaming (youtube and twitch, search on youtube for ボンバーガール)
2. when you're playing a role, try to pay attention to how people counter you. then play that role the enemy was on and try to replicate their strategies to see the ups and downs of each class and how to learn how to deal with stuff that beats you
3. record your games and compare to the streamers. for example, how long do you take to dig as bomber? and the streamer? and setting up blocks as the blocker at the start? etc. some things are gonna be harder to compare because the japanese players have lower ping and can block better with bombs but a lot of it is also experience, strategy, prediction etc
4. you can also ask for specific advice here or post a replay to ask on tips to improve. you can use obs studio to record your games, if your computer can run it + bombergirl

the odds on konasute are terrible. only roll when the girl you want is on rate up. the cosmetics on konasute are like 5 years old. don't roll for cosmetics. also you should always 10x roll. the 10th roll being at least a 3star adds up over time, especially with how bad the odds are for konasute, you can at least increase the odds of getting a skill to level 10
