90% of trusts are actually kinda shit, they can't use special equipment, they don't use any more than 5-6 spells, a majority of the time they don't even really utilize a subjob, most of them skillchain randomly, only use 1 weaponskill, don't magic burst, don't know how to conserve MP, or deal with aggro management. They at least always have maximum skill levels, instant reaction times, and plenty of trusts have neat unique bonuses, unique abilities, or unique interactions between other trusts. The handful of actually good trusts (Shantotto, Archangels, Valainerel, Healers, etc.) make trusts appear way better than they really are, but if you use the B-list trusts you'll find they're actually just worst than a decently geared real player.This is what trusts should have been, mediocre and lacking, as opposed to >spams an AoE weaponskill every time he pulls aggro>closes skillchains, shoots actual fucking nukes for only 11 MP each, and double magic bursts on every skillchain>heals you and cures all your statuses the exact frame you took damage>opens every skillchain automatically for you without planning, never misses a skillchain windowAll in all, having an extra body there is always better than not having a person, so just any trust existing is always going to be a benefit to you as opposed to having an empty party slot. i really had fun leveling on horizon… i just cant spend so much time on a computer like that anymore. and im not talking about how much grinding/progression there is. like every single event that involves other players means spending at least an hour in one sitting, just fucking why man… i wish 2 hours of leveling can be condensed to 40 minutes or something. so you arent expected to stick around for long. i like the multiplayer, the party mechanics, playing solo with trusts is fucking boring, but come on dude let me live my life

Q for anons: returning to FFXI and looking at dualboxing on retail so I can actually use w/e non-meta jobs for w/e content I want and I'm not forced to play COR/GEO/WHM to get gear for the jobs I want to play.Should I avoid Odin for this? On Asura and Bahamut it's all NA people and multiboxers seem super common, but I'm looking for a smaller server. I feel like the JP players will be uptight autistic wierdos about multiboxing being 'dishonorabu', and will ping their JP GM friend the second they see one char autofollowing another. Am I being paranoid or is there something to that?
