Best way to play wow now is a single player pack tuned exactly the way you like it with player bots. The bots are better at the game than most players anyway and you can set up a server for you and your friends that feels bustling because of all the bots running around.

I've got the server up and running on my VPS (I also run eqemu and runuo servers >>2045157 ). Buttery smooth with 1,000 playerbots with plenty of headroom for more. The plan is to have all the bots start at level 1 so it feels like a real fresh and keep everything persistent. I have to tweak things (and have already started making sub-modules) to make this actually work well. I'll start a thread when the server is close to launch-ready.
