You build your characters with skills you get from cards and playing a career, and the stats are mostly obtained through training. Better cards means better skills and more stats. Therefore a better horse.For the most part when starting, you are going to be playing career. Once you are done with the careers of your character, you'll be able to jump into the PVP. And that's it. The game is about those two things, the career, where you read the story of your horse girl while training her, and the PVP where you compete with other players for glory and some gacha resources.There are 3 game modes right now. URA, Unity and Trackblazer. Ura was the first, most basic one, and Trackblazer is an increcibly complicated mess that they never repeat again(I find it fun but really tiring). URA and Unity are pretty similar, so if you picked URA, Unity is basically just URA+. I do not recommend the last one. Trackblazer is very complicate and intricate and requires you to know what you are doing.Choose a deck, level the cards up(you rolled for those cards), and start playing URA or Unity, reading the story of the basic horse girls. The tutorial girls are all good at different things, so you'll be able to get a feel on how each style of running plays and what each kind of track requires you to perform well in them.Basically, Pick a deck of cards, pick the girl you like, and start playing in the first or second game mode

If you reroll until you MLB her with the initial money, you should have enough time to save up for a spark and then some for Tachyon/Light Hello's banner which is the big upcoming must pull banner, and then you'll actually be in a pretty decent spot with 2 strong speed cards to form the core of your deck. The big problem is that you're gonna be spending a month or two with only the starting units until they give you some free rolls to at least collect a few more, and then even longer before you'll be able to afford to roll on a uma banner. I did it, and it kind of sucked because you're not gonna have many options for PvP and unlike most gacha where there's always new main story or side story content going on, Uma's story doesn't really have much content since each trainee gets a story of their own instead.
