Since you can also convert pity points to Elcid, and you get both pity + Elcid for every roll, if you just wanted a Eldain character not on a banner you'd only have to roll 200, then convert that pity to Elcid to buy the character from the shop for 400 Elcid. The catch here is that it's cheaper to get the character through pity alone, but it allows you to still have options if the character isn't on a banner.

There's a lot of reworks and additions to the game going on right now including a bunch of other character reworks and renew the old main story.
