Finding good discussion of this game is nearly impossible. Like holy shit, is this fucking release Genshin? Why is it so hard to find sane people that want to discuss the game?

Is this game good, or just good for a gacha game?

ZZZ is good, lots of free pulls but it dose make you work for them. The money to pull is bad.
Gameplay wise this is the most fucking complex game they have made to date. Super easy to get into but once you realize the game only gives you the basics in the 1st act and you get the 2ed where the harder modes get unlocked suddenly most players are dying. It's a great fighting game with hack-and-slash movement. And I guess some gacha but the free characters can 100% carry you in most stuff if you pay attention to all of the mechanics. Please pay attention to the mechanics. Some characters change the rules for fun so also look for that.

The main complaint I have with the game right now is how it timegates upgrade resources. IIRC it takes 6 weeks minimum to max out a character, not because of grindy farming but because you can only earn a maximum amount of resources per week.
So far, though, there's no need to worry about missing out on stuff, contrary to what shills and metafags want you to believe.

You got a big chunk of resources from events--you miss it, you lose it, so yeah not that much of a difference.
Free characters are fine for most contents but they won't get you far and i don't know how long until you get bored from using the same characters over and over again.

Piper's trick is that her EX Special gives her stacks of Power, which increases anomaly buildup rate. When you get enough stacks it also increases the party's rate by 18%. Her M1 increases her max stack count from 20 to 30 and, more importantly, lets her build and maintain stacks using her regular EX, so you can maintain stacks 100% of the time. At M0 she functions but is really awkward. With M1 she becomes incredibly smooth and fluid to use since you won't have any issue with keeping her stacks up. I don't think any character has a "must have" M1-M6, but Piper's about as close at it gets.

I could see it being useful for jane teams but mainly only in hollow zero when you've only got jane and seth in the party. you want to trigger the chain with seth so that it's bangboo + jane or just jane if it's a weaker enemy, so that you refill her passion meter. but that can be fixed by just paying attention and switching to seth to do the heavy attack. for most situations I can't see a benefit to it, I think it's just there for people who think chain attacks are a waste to do at all, and they'd rather just shit out their attacks

I kind of hate the coffee system in this game, even if it's just one run out of three it feels bad when you know you're being inefficient by not farming one of the daily coffee buffs, even if a character sorely needs the items

It's inefficient time wise though since you have to fight extra enemies for the same (and completely inefficient once you reach max level).
But if you don't want to farm any of the current ones then it's obviously the best option.

I just downloaded this as a lark and it turns out the gameplay is fucking fun. My questions are:
How agressive is the paywall?
How many tedious forms of grind for currency / weapon merging and shit

I find myself playing the game more and more with each passing day. And it's not like those previous gachas where i did it partially because i loved to summon. I can't even summon because I'm saving for a rerun. So I'm genuinely just playing because i like doing the story missions and side content. My electric team with grace anby and anton has been doing quite well. I do wish anton had a way to just continually do his charge attack though. Been a while since I've been this into a gacha game.

Assuming your luck isn't shit, crafting them will get you more S rank disks. But, by directly converting you'll be able to put all of those into a specific S rank disk number. So basically if you're okay with random disks for any slot, then keep crating as normal. But if you're trying to fish out a specific disk, then you'd be better off converting.
