Solid chapter, 2 (Fairy) Grasta means it's real likely we get the Almighty Power (Fairy) in a later chapter, translation team were being trolls with Necoco/Nekoko but they even botched that because two instances of what were SUPPOSED to be "Nekoko" said "Necoco" instead.

Seconding Xianhua. Ewan is a close second, but I feel Xianhua just beats him out because she doesn't care about any elemental immunity or absorption, doesn't care about 1998 SPRT enemies since Horizon ignores MDef, Shared Knowledge passive basically gives her a +300 INT badge on non-AF turns, and her SA makes her even better with buff reversal, expose weakness to Magic, and battle start party wide mental focus and staff weapon damage for 3 turns whereas Ewan's SA just gives him 1 turn of Singular Focus and lets him T1AF better.
Also she's extremely convenient to use in ADs; 1 Horizon is generally enough to win every battle and with her large MP pool and Mental Focus buff you can gear her so she can go a full 18 battle dungeon without running out of gas or needing food.

I assume you mean Melina ES? Honestly she's a bit mid. She has decent damage and decent buffing but doesn't really excel at anything. You really want to use her with Iphi or someone else that can give her permanent Lunatic, since her skills fall off when her Lunatic does. She's not bad though, just a bit tricky to use.

Yuna NS is amazing though. They added links into her skills, so now when she uses her buffs she'll also activate her debuffs. When you're using her with another Water character, she can passively inflict Water Break onto enemies each turn, which is fantastic. Her SA inflicts Buff Reversal on enemies, which is niche but when it's useful it's great, and she can put a 100% damage barrier on the party with her SA skill. Overall, she's a really solid character and definitely worth purchasing her starcharts from the weapon emporium.

If you upgraded Yuna before her SA came out then at least 5 Chants for 1 Starchart is a good trade.
I had the same thing happen to me but with fucking Nikeh AS. If I didn't have 100 Chants left over with nobody to use them on I'd be pissed, but then again I also wouldn't have upgraded Nikeh in the first place.

The new Lepid weapons are strong for Awakened Zone teams, and Lunar weapons reforged give up to 60 SPD at max L/S, have their Thunder/Crystal/Shade debuff increased to 100% hit rate and 35% effect, and give +2 Lunatic turns.
For Armor, the new Ryza crafted armor is really good, giving +20 to all stats, +200 HP, and Nine Lives.
Toto's still gives the greatest chance of L/S gain from red keys, but there's a case to be made for running other ADs for the chance at Tomes.

All endgame players are done grasta grinding for the last two years or so and Elpis/Dryad are indeed enough for the majority of things.
Game now expects you to understand the systems for the endgame stuff instead of simple "fuck you if you didn't roll X" checks.
Hardest most recent superboss requires you to have as few buffs as possible and sustain it down.

New player here who just got some units from the free 10 pulls but still has that 5* selector that you get from doing the story. Any hints on who to pick there based on my roster?
I've got Shigure ES, 4* Melissa, 4* Shion, 4* Melody, Dewey, Izuna, 4* Benedict, 4* Yakumo, Toova ES, 4* Kuchinawa, 4* Garambarrel, 4* Ewan, Nagi AS, 4* Cetie.

Also, I'm guessing Shigure, Melissa, Shion and Melody can form a wind team while Yakumo, Toova, Kuchinawa and someone else can form a dark one? Or would these teams suck?

Mariel is a good pick as she's a really powerful healer right out of the box.
Yuna is godly, but requires her True Manifest weapon, which is far beyond your capabilities, but may be worth considering grabbing right now as a guaranteed investment. Her default kit's really fallen off at this point, but for a new player, she's still very useful.
Anabel's really weak, but once you unlock Another Dungeons, you might be lucky enough to find enough of her Holy Sentinel Codex items, letting you sidegrade her to her ES form, which is amazing both offensively and defensively.
Your units are bit too mishmashy to form a uniform team and you're way too early in the game for that to even be a concern, so don't worry about grabbing someone specifically for your line up. You're missing good support in general, so I'd grab a support character.

Shigure, Melissa and Shion are all Katana which weakens Melody's skills which are buffed based on the number of different weapon types in the party.
Shion is Fire so he wouldn't benefit from any Wind buffs.

Toova and Kuchinawa have anti-synergy; their Link skills will overwrite each other, and their element Breaks will also overwrite each other.
You're right however that Toova ES + Yakumo are a strong combination, and those 2 plus Iphi made up the meta Shade Team core since their release. Unfortunately since Iphi isn't in the 5* selector I can't tell you to just grab her to start making fantastic teams so I'll have to recommend something else.

Her NS is really strong and has a fantastic SA, her Alter is really strong, and her ES is convenient for fast dungeon runs. Her NS is a carry for Fire and Slash teams, her Alter is a Fire team zone setter and buffer, and her ES is mostly used these days for Battle Start Pain, but she can be used in Pierce or Wind zones, prefering Pierce.

mostly for her Alter; she's a very powerful support character for either Earth or Magic teams as its zone setter and buffer. Her NS and AS can both be used in Earth or Blunt teams as well, with her AS being more powerful.

mostly for his ES; he's a very flexible support slot who can fit into Slash, Pierce, Blunt, and Magic teams as its zone setter and buffer, and can fit in Earth teams as well as a buffer. His NS and AS can be used in Wind or Piercing teams but they're both pretty outdated.

Some potential parties for each pick are:
Tsukiha+Tsukiha+any 2 Fire characters form a really strong Fire team. Ewan (with his 5* Tome and True Manifest unlocked), Prai, and Harle are all solid options (and will give you the Shadow characters needed to maintain Ewan's Vital Flame mode). Outside of Ewan-oriented teams, Aldo, Kyo, Mai, Ryza can all work well.
Shigure+Tsukiha NS can also be used in a slash team with characters like Shion, Aldo, Cyrus, Lloyd as options.

Myunfa (Alter)+Kuchinawa can work in both Earth and Magic teams. Earth teams can use Myunfa (NS/AS), Terry, May, Nagi (NS/AS) while Magic teams can go with Izuna, Yakumo, and any of the swath of free staff characters like Harle, Starky, Ryza, Empel.

Claude ES can make a Slash team with Shigure, Shion, Benedict, Nagi or a Magic team with Izuna, Kuchinawa, Yakumo or the free staff characters, or a Blunt team with Toova ES, Ewan, and Prai.

Big whoop, you can unlock the 0 L/S, 0/3 Starchart Alter version what 6-10 weeks earlier? Depending on AD reward luck.
Spending 7k or 10k or however much, not getting the character, but getting the free Opus is technically a consolation prize but it definitely wouldn't push the needle AT ALL for whether or not you should pull on the banner.
