>the sheer amount of single stage pokemon we get nowadays in comparison to the abysmal amount back then.
Compare gen 1 and gen 9 and tell me this is a good thing.
Look at how many 3 stages mon we had back then, we now traded that for single stage mons who are forgettable, bland and that nobody even cares about.
Who allowed this?

everybody who continues to buy Pokemon games

Single stage are based
regional qnd other variants are bad
>>
>>55774566
A new generation now has less Pokemon than it used to be, so there's less space to fill it with 3-stage lines.

Jynx, too. It’s so over…………
>>
>>55774623
Fuck
Good eyes though, can't even say I got exhausted given it was the earlier gens.
>>55774621
Yes but there are also MUCH more single stages than before because of this. Compare the number of single stages in gen 1 to the ones in gen 7/8/9, it's absurd. Yes it's because of UB / Paradox but they decided to make them single stage in the first place themselves.
>>
>>55774566
delete all 2 stage and single stage mons
>>
the thing with 3 stage pokemon though is that the middle evos are often pointless filler pokemon no one cares about that just clog up the national dex
>>
gen 1 had a fuck ton of single stagers, but most of them got crossgens so they're no longer single stagers
>>
>>55774721
Yeah they got fixed.
Still waiting for heliolisk and komala evos.
>>
>>55774566
alola doesn't have many 3-stagers; the starters, regional bird and bug, pseudo and tsareena are all they have.
>>
all lines should be three stage desu
thats why i dont like mega evolutions
>>
>>55774715
maybe design wise, but they provide an important progression point in the game. imagine if your starter or the pseudo had no middle stage. they would either stay first stage way too long and feel too weak for the majority of the game, or they would evolve into their final forms much earlier and be way too powerful for that stage of the game. that middle stage of power is important.

soulless post

Because in most cases, a middle stage adds nothing to the line. The only ones that really need it are starters and pseudo-legendaries.
>>
>>55776030
nah. like said above, middle stages allow for a smoother progression of power during the game. besides starters and pseudos, Pokemon like the regional birds, the Kanto trade evos, Aggron, Luxray, Roserade and lots more benefit from having a middle evo that acts as an intermediate power stage for the midgame, and there are a lot more 2 stage mons who would benefit from either having a pre-evo available early in the game (Budew is the best example of this, making it possible to catch the line earlier without being too powerful) or a later stage to keep up in the endgame.

>middle stages allow for a smoother progression of power during the game
every single game is poorly balanced dogshit where you can get your final stage starter by the 3rd gym so it really doesn’t matter

Remember, most of the single stagers in gen 1 got evolutions, so gen 1 had twice as many single stagers back then as it does now.
The only non-legendary ones left are Kangaskhan, Aerodactyl, Lapras, Pinsir, and Tauros.
>>
>>55774566
Disingenuous image. Should be a graphic of pokemon that were initially introduced as single stagers if you wanted to prove your point, since pokemon tend to get evos/prevos added in later gens.

Difference being 90% of the times single stage mons in early gens were unusable trash like Delibird. Use your brain.

>he uses a single Pokemon then complains about balance
