His League battles was underwhelming. At least GF fixed that by making Leon a bit stronger in Battle Tower but at that point it was already too late. TrAshnime further overinflated Leon's image to the point his title of "the strongest undefeated Champion" feels forced. But once you travelled the whole region, you'll realize that Raihan, Peony, Honey and Mustard are vastly more superior than Leon.

I always thought Kieran's interactions with Nemona were more interesting that the ending of ID, because she is basically the opposite of Kieran. She just loved battling and thinks it doesn't matter if you win or lose because it doesn't say anything about your self-worth, something that Kieran needed to learn.I do think that IDs ending was rushed, but it works ok as a conclusion to Kieran's story.
