Smaller stuff like the route 1 Pidgey or the Master Ball/Big Nugget thing is fine, but it's like Gamefreak didn't have any confidence in the new stuff whatsoever, and just used a lot of past gen stuff - not even just Gen 1 stuff, since you've got Lucario as your Mega tutorial, for instance.Difficulty is also often just labeled a meme complaint, and sure, you could say every game in the series is easy, but most important fights just had nothing threatening in them.Also they changed all the Gen 1-5 cries and that makes me angry.And to prove I'm not just saying shit in bad faith I'll even include stuff I like about XY. For as small as the regional dex is, a lot of Kalos mons are very solid designs that are still popular today, and the mon distribution is pretty good too, always feels like there's plenty of options available.The graphics are also fine for a 3DS title, and I didn't find the jump to 3D all that shaky as a result (save for some performance issues). It fits in fine with other 3DS games.Also, affection boosts aside, Amie was great. I think being able to pet your team is something people had wanted for awhile, it helps build your bond with your bros.
