You can put it in an encrypted archive, but the code itself can't be encrypted. Likewise when you compile something it does not result in an encrypted executable, you usually have to encrypt it after. Not everything worked well and some of the changes, particularly to progression, were unnecessarily annoying, but I'd rather they try something bold like that and get a few things right than copypaste the same tired formula, do a new gimmick they'll drop in a couple years, with minimal effort to advance the series and keep gouging fans all over again because "MUH POKEYMANZ RIGHT GAIS??".

Was really hoping that PLA was essentially a proto gen 9 and gen 9 would use the same artstyle and movement but then the trailer came out and...yeah it looked like shit.
