>>56764879>the Timburr line is also pretty good, especially if you can fully evolve it.It is absolutely busted good in any game it can get Drain Punch(which is basically any game from BW2 onwards). Before that, it is still stupid good, essentially being a stronger, tankier Guts Machamp, or if you end up with Sheer Force, it basically gets to run EdgeQuake despite not having access to Earthquake using Bulldoze and Rock Slide.
EV training is so fucking easy in gen 7 holy shit
I lost Tauros to Cyrus 2. honestly, it was a retarded move to teach it Swagger to begin with. I then made the foolish mistake of using it in battle. Lesson learned.>Lv. 15 —> 41R.I.P.
>>56764970I used it in my last White run, I was so impressed by its performance I just made her a permanent team member, she never disappointed me.
>>56765719RIP BVLL
>>56765719Swagger is a calculated risk, but i never bother using it precisely because of the attack boost.
>>56762737I'm surprised you don't have a rule for trade evolutions to not be allowed to evolve immediately to their final stage.
>>56767350you’re meant to use it only against special attackers so there’s no risk (in theory). I was contemplating on teaching Tauros Psych Up to copy the attack boost and then hit with STAB Return. unfortunately, Tauros can’t learn Psych Up.
>>56767714He might be taking the exp and level caps into account to determine when to evolve.
>>56767714I've always just seen trade Evos as a benefit to those lines. But it might be something to consider, yeah.
>>56767808I'd still rather go for the KO on a special attacker, there's nothing stopping them from hitting me with their special attack besides confusion.
Clay ended up being very easy.>Vs Clay>KrokorokThe Nix oneshots it with Scald.>ExcadrillScald Crit. Pretty sure the crit wasn't needed, but nice nonetheless.>PalpitoadCompletely unnecessary Grass Knot crit.
>>56770511Whoops, forgot to update the death count.
>>56770511Is it time for people to realize Simipour is actually the GOAT? Mine handled himself easily in the Kalos E4 and even got the final hit in on Diantha.
>>56769570You could argue needing another game and system to get trade evo's is enough of a hurdle to jump through.
Bump.
>>56765691Easier than just getting to max it out in 20 minutes in gen 6 through super training?
Wiped at Cyrus 3. Honchkrow’s Night Slash got a critical hit on Ho-oh, killing it in green. Then it proceeded to 1-shot Gengar. Then Drill Peck killed Dratini in green. I had the option to use Rare Candies to get Dratini to Dragonite but I’ve been holding off. That decision bit me in the ass. I got too cocky.
>>56775373That's awful my dude, you gonna keep going with boxed mons or taking it as a full L?
forgot to say that Gengar’s Thunderbolt only got Honchkrow down to yellow>>56775425I’ll take the full L. not like anyone in the box is trained.
I got cocky and would've guaranteed wiped to Eri if based fucking Mudsdale's last Counter didn't kill it. Motherfucker shifted gears all the way up and my team of physical attackers was caught with its pants down by Stamina after Sylveon got annihilated right off the bat.I'm fucking shaking, god bless GF for actually putting challenges in their games
>>56775373It's usually his Gyarados that's the big threat, rip.
For some reason I thought held expshare worked as >Participating Pokemon get 100% of battle exp amongst themselves which is divided by end >And whoever holds the expshare just gets a new 50% of whatever the previous sum was to themselves. Was that never a thing?
>>56777751I'm pretty sure exp share up to gen 4 divides total exp between battlers and exp share holders, with holders getting a bigger share if they battle.
>>56776310What have you got left to work with for the rest of the game?
Thread question: what's your go-to starter per region?
>>56781204Based off of the last digit on my Trainer ID
>>56781204If I don't choose at random,Kanto - VenusJohto - GatorHoenn - SwampSinnoh - ApeUnova - SamuNever nuzlocked gen6+
>>56781204Kanto - Charizard (Never pick others)Johto - Toss upHoenn - Toss up (Blaziken unprefered)Sinnoh - Turtle (Never pick others)Unova - Serperior (small possibility of others)France - Delphox (Never pick others)The Island State of my Nation - Primarina (Never pick others)Third World Shithole - Toss up (Never pick Rilaboom)Never ever going to play "open world" slop.
>>56781204I always take random based on the last digit of trainer id. Probably dislike water types the most though since the type is so abundant in almost every gen
>>56781204I usually ditch my starter in most games after the second gym because they’re boring. For Johto: I used to go Cyndaquil for smokescreen but the rival having Croconaw started to get annoying. These days I pick Totodile to use as an HM slave which gives the rival Chikorita lol
>>56781911Water certainly gives you the most options to work with, especially if Gyarados is available.
>>56781204I always pick Fire because it’s by far the most rare of the 3 starter types and I generally prefer the Fire starter.
>>56782072I'm the opposite, it feels soulless for me to box starters.
>>56783890Especially in Sinnoh. I don't know that they were thinking making a fire type specialist in a region with two fire types.
I for one am not against gym leaders or elite four members having Pokémon that aren’t their “main” type, as a curve ball for what would otherwise be a piss-easy victory
>>56787398Neither am i if it fits their theme, i'm just baffled how no one at GameFreak thought to add more fire types to Sinnoh.
>>56788168and I’m baffled that the fire type that they specifically picked to make it in is arguably the shittiest fire type in Gen 1>doesn’t evolve until level 40>dogshit level up movepool (fire and normal moves)>can’t learn cool shit without a move reminder AFTER evolvingeven with traded EXP boost, it’s not worth it
>>56788168>>56788602flint being a fire specialist is a retcon. he likes hot things and is never explicitly said to be a fire type trainer until platinum
>>56788631And yet, he is a Fire specialist, because that's how the games work by that point.
>>56788920no he isn't , the game design just be to nuanced for you to understand
>>56789252You keep telling that to yourself.
Is there any gen where the grass starter doesn't get fucked over?
>>56790159Gen 9. Skeledirge might be better in game but the cat is not that far behind.
>>56790159Sceptile is pretty good in gen 3, it's just hard to compete with no weaknesses Marshtomp.
going through a crystal nuzlocke and damn it's really fun, it's my first time beating a gen 2 game and i'm having a blast, it's super soulfulthe suicune battle gave me shivers, there's something so kino about this game
>>56790159Bulbasaur is solid in both Gen 1 and 3, even if not the best starter. Also really good in Gen 6, if you count it there.Gen 4 Torterra is arguably the best starter until about Gym 7, then drops off like a rock.Rillaboom and Meowscarada are both really good in-game, even if the Fire Starters are slightly better.>>56790945>Sceptile is pretty good in gen 3Ruby Sceptile is arguably the worst starter of all time in terms of gameplay, and Sapphire Sceptile is thoroughly mediocre. Meganium and Serperior are much better just for the team support they offer.
Littlemon AS challenge #6 on its way>level caps, usual restrictions>E4 -> Champ deathlessI found an awesome yet maybe unexpected tandem. Wailmer + Numel. Pressure Rest Lefovers Wailmer stalls everyone's PP and Simple Numel can come out and Curse and Amnesia and sweep the rest. It's wonderful. Anon friend suggested Wailmer a while ago. Now it has Rest, Ice Beam, Water Spout and Amnesia. Numel has EQ and Lava Plume for attack. Another anon suggested using babymons such as Elekid and Magby, but I haven't leveled up them yet. I do have like three boxes full of lvl 75 mons who are still trying to find their role. Poison Heal Giga Drain Leech Seed Shroomish is one who I don't even think can be killed. Onix with Rocky Helmet is another prospect. Shell Armor Krabby with Iron Defense can solo Sidney. I need to do some test runs and find out which member to add to the team.
>>56770511>Vs Skyla>SwoobatIt uses Amnesia before getting blown up by Kole's Rock Slide.>SwannaI send in Dong Bai as Swanna uses Aqua Ring.Swanna uses Air Slash, Dong Bai uses Charge Beam and gets the Special Attack buff.Another Air Slash, then Swanna falls to Psyshock(more accurate).>UnfezantIt misses an Air Slash, and Psyshock does just slightly below half.Another Air Slash, then it falls to Charge Beam(higher roll than the Psyshock?).Planning to keep Dong Bai as an Eviolite Gothorita instead of evolving.
>>56788631You can infer he's a fire type specialist from his name and color palette. Pokémon isn't very subtle about characters and their types, be it their name, design, town, gym, etc.
>>56793198i look at flint and what i do be seeing is a hot themed trainer thoughever
>>56793198But then I can’t grasp at straws to be contrarian
animetrannies need to stop pushing their headcanon on flint. his design, his name, his pokemon <- it’s all hot
>>56792060What are you thinking for your next team?>>56792207Skyla continuing to be the easiest Unova gym leader.
>>56794233I always have a great plan for a team and then bit by bit it changes and eventually it is something completely different in the end, heh. I want to use a Baton Pass / stat gimmick team. Wailmer & Numel duo is already set
Actual cinema
>>56794789Sounds like you have options. How often do you repeat team members?
>>56794903Not sure if gmod or a real pokemon game
>>56793260You see that, and you're wrong, because Pokemon doesn't actually do that anymore. The E4 gives the other members at most 1 Pokemon outside their type specialty, except Flint, because they somehow fucked up the Fire-type representation in the region, and they didn't want to do the same thing as they did in Gen 3, where three of the E4 have repeats and pre-evos because the types are some of the rarest in the region.
>>56795170After it's in the winning team it goes in the HOF box. So I guess at some point I need to start to scrape the bottom of the barrel or get really creative heh.
>>56795649nope, karen and koga debunk your post, sorry sister.

>>56796601Huh, I checked bulbapedo for quotations on this topic yesterday, and the name explanation was there word for word.Of course they're not exactly a reliable source by themselves, I didn't cite that.
>>56795864Well that shouldn't be for a long while, seeing as you have three whole boxes of champions to play with
>>56798826Yeah, so it seems. I've written down all the strats and experiments, but unfortunately not the dates. I guess it takes about a month or so to come up with a winning team. I'm kinda new to this thing. Never really played any competitive, and casual single player is too easy to bother with any good strats and you don't really need any super cool tactics there. For example, just a while back I learned that Dark or Normal Pokemon with Taunt can setup against Banette really well. Never really thought of such strats in sp or anywhere. I'm thinking there's a curve, like now it's fun then it becomes a chore. Then when I have only Route 1 Bugs and Birds left it could be fun and challenging again. So far my greatest "master plans" are >Shell armor mon with Leftovers and Iron Defense to setup with Scrafty (to sweep Sidney)>Air Balloon Dark mon to setup with Claydol (to destroy Megagross. Flying / Dark doesn't work, then he figures out what's going on and switches)Saying all that I'm very open to gimmicks and cool strategies and cheesing.
>>56796601It's as i said, GameFreak isn't subtle at all about trainers and their Pokémon types.
>>56799181You're doing good so far, i don't know how many people would think of trying to beat the E4 multiple times with base evo mons. It takes creativity to do that, and i wish you luck for the rest of your runs!

How do you personally do a Colosseum or GoD Nuzlocke? Do you modify the rules to fit the games or keep them as is?
>Spend a week playing other games trying to get the maid to appear in Camphrier town so i could trade my Bidoof for an Eevee>Get bored waiting and start playing again>Wander to route 10>Encounter an EeveeA week well spent. Not sure what i want to evolve him to yet since i'm playing relatively blind and have no idea what TMs i have access to before the elite four so he's going to sit in the box for now. Also took out Grant.
What's a good gen 5 romhack to nuzlocke
>>56808603Drayano's hacks are probably your best bet, but be warned they are difficulty hacks.
>>56805166Wow, thank you very much, that's nice
>>56807867Grant scared me before i realized Diggersby could tank his Tyrunt with ease. The gyms really didn't get any better besides Olympia.

>>56811974I keep saying the random trainers are more dangerous than the gym leaders.
>>56811974XY has some real deadly randoms that you didn't expect considering the gyms(boss fights) are so easy
>>56813344It's a little ridiculous that some random girl with an Axew on route 8 is more deadly in a Nuzlocke than gym leaders.
>>56811974Razac soloed Korrina with Hone Claws & Aerial Ace>Lucario is championed so no mega evolution for me>Caught a Pinsir on route 12>It's megastone is locked behind postgameI'd trade it over from my Y just so i could have some fun with the new gimmick but seems Pinsir is X only too. A shame since the evolution does look kinda rad>>56813321>>56813344Yeah i'm getting some major Platinum nuzlocke vibes from this run
>>56815505Bump>Accepted another sky battle only to lose the battle and my Aerodactyl because it got paralyzed 3 times in a row
Recommend a DS-and-backwards romhack (or mainline if it has extra, interesting challenges) that would be good for hardcore nuzlocke. Already done the mainline games.
>>56817362Drayano hacks if you're feeling sadistic, or Emerald Seaglass.
My Inclement Emerald Nuzlocke continues, and despite a VERY close call at the end, we prevailedThe plan was simple: Exeggutor blasts his Groudon with Solar Beam, we switch Pelipper into Camerupt to undo the sun and take it out with Weather Ball, and from there was just a matter of exchanging blowsAegislash completely hard walls Lycanroc, and then Volcarona has exactly ONE point of Spd over Hydreigon, doesn't die to even a Crit Draco Meteor, and we annihilate it with a Bug Gem boosted Bug BuzzPre-Poisoned Golem switches safely into Crobat (to dodge Hypnosis) and takes care of it, and that left his damned VictreebelI knew it would go for a Water-type Weather Ball, and there was no way around it-- I had to switch Swellow into it and risk a crit at point blank; I kind of accepted that I would have to sacrifice something (it or Exeggutor), but no sacrifice was necessaryOne Wing Attack was all it took, and being the last Pokemon, we didn't suffer any more Poison damageI'm finally, finally out of Magma Hideout, and... now we gotta prepare for Aqua Hideout, then after that, Hoenn's seas are open to us
>>56817362Inclement Emerald/Radical Red/Unbound
>>56818394You're basically in the home stretch now, and I can only imagine what Archie has in store for you.
>>568155052 more gyms now. Found a cute Trapinch that replaced the deceased Razac on the team.>>56818394Man i really need to play this romhack at some point
>>56820034Wasn't aware this was even a thing
>>56792207>Vs Brycen>VanillishIt uses Acid Armor, but Merida's Expert Belt Iron Head crushes it regardless.>BearticIt uses Swagger on Merida, who hits herself for almost a third of her HP.I switch in Mr. Punch, who takes a bit over half from Icicle Crash. This would be kind of worrying, but Fighting Gem Brick Break assures Mr. Punch gets the KO. >CryogonalI swap in The Nix on Aurora Beam, which causes an attack drop. The Nix uses Work Up as Cryogonal fires of another Aurora Beam, and then a Brick Break crit oneshots the Cryogonal.
>>56820034If you enjoy looking at spreadsheets then you'll love Inclement Emerald.
>>56820451I don't understand how GameFreak went from Candace and Brycen providing a bit of challenge as ice gym leaders, to Wulfric getting outsped by essentially any fire type.
Hey guys, I'm back and I haven't done a pokemon nuzlocke in quite a while, the last one I did was all the way back in July which I got done on August. I'll be doing a Pokemon White 2 nuzlocke starting with today. The rules are simple, I'm not allowed to overlevel my pokemon above the gym leaders pokemon, if I lose a pokemon, I can't use it again, I have to catch 1 pokemon per area, it has to be the first pokemon I encounter but also I can only catch non gen 5 pokemon, i can use my starter pokemon and any pokemon given to me though even if they are gen 5. If the first pokemon I encounter is a gen 5 pokemon, I have to keep searching unless there is no non gen 5 pokemon in said area then I just move on. I will name my pokemon though I'm not good at names and I will have pokemon in the reserves. My current fear is those trainers that do triple and rotation battles as it was two of those trainers that did me in at the village bridge last time.Wish me luck and please give me any advice.
>>56770511lost my first white nuzlocke at the first cheren battle rip
>Try a Renplat Nuzlocke>Wipe to second rival battle because I was too lazy to actually calc it and Munchlax metronomed into Thrash
Day 1.I begin my nuzlocke, the starter I choose is Tepig who is name Smokey, I catch Sunkern I name Sprout and a Psyduck I name Waddle. Unfortunately I lose Waddle as soon as I catch it and while I was able to beat the first gym leader Cheren, I lost Sprout during the battle. I then catch myself a Koffing who I name Smogger and Smokey evolves into a Pignite.Any advice for the next gym leader Roxie?
>>56826171I would probably use Smogger to whittle down Roxie's own Koffing before bringing in Smokey, with a poison healing item if possible, to take it and Whirlipede out. If you had Magenemite this would be a free win with Sonic Boom. Also, my advice would be 'don't be afraid to look stuff up if you want.'
>>56820034Another gym down. Foran took out Valeries Mawile & mr.mime and Lillie stalled Sylveon out with Magical Leaf & Wish.Cleared out frost cavern and decided to finally make use of my Eevee and evolve it to Glaceon. Fred the Furfrou is retiring to the bench unless someone else on my team dies at some point.>>56822176>If you enjoy looking at spreadsheets then you'll love Inclement Emerald.Probably not in my top 10 things but challenging games are fun
>>56826828Happy Birthday!Your team's looking neat. You don't see Glaceon very often around here.
>>56826589Thanks for the advice, I've had Magnemite in two nuzlockes before and all have swept through Roxie's team.
>>56826924GameFreak seems to like putting the icy rock either in the middle or near the end of the game.
>>56827800The Ice-type dilemma, where they never want to give players early access for mysterious reasons.
>>56827800XY are strange in that it's the one game where the Icy Rock is accessible before the Mossy Rock, making Glaceon available before Leafeon.
>>56828077Didn't they change that for USUM, where you could actually get Crabominable really early compared to the actual endgame in base SM?
>>56829388Crabominable is one of the ugliest, shittiest pokemon ever designed so they pushed it on you earlier, yes.
>>56829388Yeah, they added a patch of grass at the foot of the mountain for you to get a level and evolve in.Same thing with the Blush Mountain route providing a magnetic field in USUM.
>>56829459Like when they added an extra patch of grass to Johto route 35 for Crystal. Now if only they did those kind of things in the first versions.
>>56826828Are you saving Furfrou for Y?
You know it's gonna be a good run when you see a shiny pre-pokeballs.
>>56826828>Backtracking around the old routes now that i have access to more HM moves to see what i missed>Scientist gives me aerodactylite>Wasn't even aware aerodactyl could mega evolve>My adamant, max attack IV Razac would have oneshot the Sigilyph that killed him and lived if i had noticed to pick up this stone earlier>>56831271Mainly just hoping i don't get it again as my route 5 encounter in Y. The Fur Coat ability was nice early on but his movepool is just kinda sad.>>56826924Thanks. Had fun sitting comfily indoors, playing games and watching the first snow fall
>>56825198Second attempt of Renplat kinda makes me just want to reset>Kricketot from 201>Bidoof from Verity>Growlithe encounter on 202 used Roar>Get Azurill from Jublifie Trainer school egg, but it has Thick Fat instead of Huge PowerIndividually, none of these are big deals, but it hurts missing out on stuff like Intimidate Shinx, Nidoran, Huge Power Azurill, and Starly. If I can get Horsea from the route south of Sandgem, a grass type from 204, and hopefully a Riolu in Oreburgh cave, and a Larvitar from 207, I'll be in really good shape
Day 2.I continue my nuzlocke. I beat the second gym leader Roxie and I catch a Ratatta in the sewers that I named Nibbles. Not much else though.Any advice for the next gym leader Burgh?
>>56831821>Finnigan soloes the 7:th gym with Night Slash>VS Xerneas>I lead with Flair because i took a look at Xerneas' stats and assumed he would only have physical moves so the plan was to stall with Leftovers, Barrier, Protect and evasion from Hail while i chuck balls at it (Master ball is reserved for shiny pokémon to make things more interesting)>Plan goes out the window turn 1 when Xerneas breaks out of the quick ball and almost kills Flair with Moon Blast>I Swap in Foran who almost dies to a Megahorn>I swap in Lillie who easily tanks a Moonblast>I Lillie uses Wish and then Moon Blast of her own while tanking Megahorns and Moon Blasts that luckily don't crit>This keeps going for 10+ turns with Lillie alternating between Wish and me chucking Balls at Xerneas>Eventually catch Xerneas with a Timer Ball with my entire team still alive>Lysandre jumps me right after>Flair leads and uses Protect to dodge Mienshaos High Jump Kick>I decide to not gamble another Protect because failing it would most likely get Flair killed so i swap in Santos who has been soloing Lysandres entire team in the previous battles>Mienshao misses the second High Jump Kick anyway and kills himself>Pyroar comes out and dies to a Surf>Honchkrow falls to a Thunderbolt>Gyarados comes in, mega evolves and survives Thunderbolt with like 10 hp>Santos falls to an Earthquake>Foran comes in and finished the fight with a SuperpowerIn hindsight i should have just given Protect & Leftovers to Lillie and let her handle Xerneas entirely. Still wouldn't have saved Santos though. Last gym is apparently ice and i have a Pinsir with Superpower so probably deciding on the last team member when i make it to the Pokemon League>>56831894That's rough man.
>>56833046Pignite can easily sweep
>>56833046Looking over Burgh's team, I concur with the other anon, Pignite should be able to solo the gym. You should also be prepared for route 4 and the Relic Castle, basically every Pokémon here is worth using, so you'll want to be sure to catch whatever you find.
>>56833857>>56834036I thought so, especially since two of Burghs team members are grass/bug.
Are there any good hacks similar to the Drayano hacks but for generations 1-3? I'm craving some GBA gameplay but without all the flaws basically. Thanks in advance.

>>56834881Maybe Radical Red?
>>56836573It's better to just leave sky trainers alone, one that i fought had an Emolga with powerful moves a few levels early.
>>56835826How did you have Celebi? Did you fight the E4 a second time?RIP, also.
>>56838933I might just put more effort into training my pokémon in Y and make a designated flying team just to fuck over the sky battle trainersI used xp share pretty liberally on this run which kind of ended backfiring because i wasn't aware it also EV trains every pokemon in my team in the process so all of my backup mons on the PC have fucked up EVs
>wanna do a challenge run of UM>no permadeath>no monotype>no limited encountersDoes this sound feasible or retarded? Is UM difficult enough to just play normally instead of being retarded?
>>56831894First gym badge acquired, deathless. I forgot to teach Marshstomp Water Pulse and the loss of that 20 extra base power nearly fucked me because it was the difference between being able to 2HKO Nosepass while it was taunted, and taunting Nosepass is the most important part of the Roark fight, which is why Chimchar is always the starter pick>>56833649It wasn't worst thing in the world, the nice thing about renplat is that there's a few good guaranteed encounters early, like the aforementioned Marshstomp because it comfortably 1v1's almost all of Roark's team while also being a really good mon in it's own right. The trade off is that I had to sacrifice a Beldum encounter for it
>>56839927What I did with Gen 7 games was to never do any wild encounters (With Exp. Share off) unless it was to catch a Pokemon.I also always pick my team ahead of time base on what I want to use (No regard to how well the team will work)No items in battle, obviously, Set mode, even more obviously. This actually leaves you decently underleveled towards the end, and you really need to give some decent consideration to how to win battles. I don't think it's super hard or anything, but it's a way I could actually enjoy Gen 6 and 7.
>>56839934Were TMs re-usable in Renplat or no?
>>56840246Not the way they were in Gen 5, but they're effectively reusable. Every time you get a TM, you're given 99 copies of it
>>56839927The Ultra Alola games are more difficult than their bases, so i think it's feasible. A Nuzlocke adds a lot to the difficulty though.
>>56839927The base games are decently challenging as is, so a Nuzlocke would definitely add to thatIf you don't wanna do that, you could consider playing a ROM hack of it? Photonic Sun or Prismatic Moon, both by Buffel Saft, are quite fun
Day 3.I continued with my nuzlocke. I try to catch an Onix but I fail and it faints, Nibbles evolves into a Raticate and I catch a Skitty that I named Whiskers, unfortunately while aboard the Royal Unova, I lost both my starter Smokey and Whiskers to a trainers Herdier which I hate. Despite losing my fire type, I was able to beat the third gym leader Burgh.Any advice for Elesa? Hopefully I can get a Sandshrew or Trapinch.

Littlemon team #6 to beat AS>level cap, all the usual restrictions>starts @ Sidney -> Champ>deathlessThis was the most, hmmm what's the word, constant or reliable team. I could almost send out anyone in any situation. This was still a Baton Pass stats team being the main strategy. Rabbit & monkey set up stats and BPs them to anyone. Though Skill Link Hone Claws Aipom can handle anything with ease on its own. Wingull is an "honorary member", because it was one of my first mons and helped me beat early gyms and rival battles. When BP'd Agility and Accuracy and Nasty Plot it destroys almost anything with Hurricane. Only Steven resists Flying type. Rest Amnesia Pressure Wailmer can PP stall a bunch of enemies and then Simple Numel can come out and set up with Amnesia and Curse. This is another great and surprising pair I've found doing this challenge.I usually keep a count of kills in the winning run, but now I'm not even sure, because the team is quite even. Wailmer had 11 kills, I think (Drake's team + Aggron, Claydol, Dactyl, Carbink, Megagross). In the test runs or previous attempts pretty much anyone could gain the BP effects and sweep. What an awesome team this was.

>>56843768Pretty hype about finally playing the 3rd gen remakes since my fondest pokémon related memories come from spending a summer playing through Ruby and Sapphire with a friend. Got Alpha Sapphire when they came out but seems i played only up to the second gym before UNI and real life got in the way and i never went back. Rolled a Torchic but since all Hoenn starters are already championed i'm going to breed a Fennekin and then trade the egg over and use it as my starter instead.>>56843814Thanks. I've heard people say that X/Y are one of the easier games but i still found X to be a pretty fun and challenging run to complete. Probably because of all the mistakes i made + the wide variety of mons available for catching
>>56844573XY, while somewhat easy anyways, completely breaks under Exp. Share, which is turned on by default (Which strongly implies that it was balanced around that). In terms of Nuzlockes, it gives you really great options to work with, and the variety does make it a lot of fun to do as a Nuzlocke, surprisingly enough.
Trade evos are the true cockblock
>>56844573The difficulty in XY is spread out through the random trainers, with the gym leaders not much of a challenge. You also get some great mons and ev training early, and the boosted exp share. No, you don't have to use either of these, but that's a bandaid fix.>>56845312It took them until LA to introduce an item for this issue, and they probably consider it an "experiment" instead of a QoL feature.
where is the art sourced from? alot of it is great
>>56846770>It took them until LA to introduce an item for this issueLA was made by different people than the main games, and a lot of that was in conjunction with SwSh and SV, so anything they came up with there likely hasn't had a chance to be added to the main line yet. Of course, this is GF, so chances are that's not happening anyways, they will remove features and you will like it.
>>56839934The bad luck with encounters continued, I was forced to kill the Onix encounter in Orebrough mine as it wouldn't stay in the Pokeball and came dangerously close to killing Ivysaur, my route 207 encounter was a Ponyta, which while not the worst thing in the world, it hurts missing out on Larvitar. The Floaroma town encounter is a choice between Johto starters, and I go for the Cyndaquil, but she unfortunately carries Flash Fire instead of adaptability, along with a -Spa nature. I was able to pick up a Magnemite at Valley Windworks, who because very useful, very quickly.Mars 1 at the Valley Windworks doesn't look too hard on paper, but between the confusion antics on Zubat, Bronzors Confuse Ray and Hypnosis, and a Speed Boost Yanma that has omniboost potential with Silver Wind, it's annoying at best, and a threat to wipe at worst. Magnemite's Charge Beam deals with Zubat and Yanma easily enough. But Mars then sends out her monstrous Purugly that not only hits like a truck, but also outspeeds everything you can have up to this point with the exception of Jolteon. If you don't have Onix, a Lucario in the two chances you have to obtain one to this point, Heracross, or an Intimidate user, it'll be a little rough.Luckily, I had the latter, so after swapping in Staravia for a couple of attack drops, I was able to go between Monferno and Kricketune and take it out. Very fortunate not to eat a crit there. Ponyta effortlessly deals with her Bronzor last, and that's Mars 1.Next stop is the Cheryl fight and the Eterna Forest, and the Old Chateau, where I plan to nab a really important Pokemon.
>>56846968The OP art? I just look up fanart when it's time for a new thread.
>>56818394I had to fight Matt again and unfortunately, it came at the very preventable loss of EmolgaWe pull the same trick of baiting Thunder into its Lightning Rod and Encore-ing it, and to my surprise, when it came back out it went for Grass Knot for... some reason? So we Encore that too, whittle away the rest of his team with +2 HurricanesShould've been a simple sweep, and then I also just made a dumb mistake: I forgot that the rain was still up, enabling all these Hurricanes in the first place,Swift Swim ensured that Seismitoad was faster than Emolga, and that was lights outThe safest solution was to just switch into Golisopod and brawl with it (although it might've switched into a Liquidation Def drop now that I think about it), and it just... didn't occur to me at allI just straight up forgot that Seismitoad was really fast and well, lost a valuable mon for no reason other than my mind going blankI'm just slightly annoyed with myself, because that was a blunder, but... I also know I can get a Pichu encounter (as a gift egg) pretty soon, and Raichu can also LightningRod + Encore stuff just like EmolgaIn any case, we can finally make it past Lilycove City, start exploring, get more encounters, and then the end really is in sight
>>56820451>Vs Drayden>Fraxure>Druddigon>HaxorusAll fall to The Nix's Expert Belt Blizzards. It was kind of risky to go for the Blizzard sweep with 70% Accuracy on a frail mon, but I was rewarded in this case.
Day 4.Continuing with my nuzlocke. I head to the desert and I'm able to catch two pokemon, a Trapinch I named Chompster and a Sandshrew in named Dusty. While I would go on to lose a Nibbles unfortunately, Dusty evolved into a Sandslash. I also failed to catch a male Combee but that's alright, it would have been useless anyway.Any advice for Elesa?
>>56850533Be careful. On that note, I think I had a talk about this once in these threads, but personally I prefer to keep Trapinch unevolved until you can quickly get to Flygon.Trapinch has a huge ATK stat (And nothing else, really), but Vibrava is so middling that it just sucks.I'd exercise caution with it in general though.
>>56849851...Just had the second death of the run. Ace Trainer Johan's Accelgor pulled out Me First and used Acrobatics on Liu Bei, getting a crit and oneshotting it....It sucks to lose a mon so close to the league.
>>56851154Will probably be grinding up another mon over time(I have a pretty good idea of what will plug the hole in my squad in the longterm the best), but I suspect I'll take on the upcoming league with just the 5 remaining and a potential sacrificial lamb, because getting a mon to be ready right now would probably take some doing.
Still putting off finishing my Ruby nuzlocke... so I decided to try and revitalize my appreciation of the Hoenn games by playing a cute hack. Moemon Star Emerald is definitely a bit harder (not radical red hard), but it actually has a nice distribution of mons. Kinda fun early game with a bunch of rival fights and a mad rush to try and find another rock type destroyer that wasn't also weak to rock (only time I'll be greatful for a Goldeen encounter). Level caps and easy grinding, so it's also easy to use many different mons on your teams or even train up the best possible team for a certain leader. Also, all the sprites are pretty cute! Combusken is actually pretty fun when it's not ugly as sin. Handed out names based on where a 100 side wheel landed on my MAL list since it's fitting for the moe aesthetic.
>>56852350and there's Brawly done. Didn't really need to do a nincada grind after all, since Entoma (Beautifly) one shot everything with Gust, except for Hariyama, but Jessie (Ekans) took good care of that. Game also gives you key items, like Axe and Lamp for cut and flash uses, which is pretty nice. Portable PC is useful, but healing from anywhere (except for gyms which lock you in until you beat the leader) is a little op.
>>56850533Trapinch is gonna be difficult to use, it's so slow everything else outspeeds it and Vibrava is even worse with its stat spread, but Flygon will be worth it if you can keep it alive.
>>56847719After taking out Mars, I fish for a Shellder on route 205. After defeating Cheryl and taking her through the Forest, I failed to nab that "really important Pokemon" in the Old Chateau, the guaranteed Gengar encounter used Curse, killing itself. So I had to settle for Rotom, the other guaranteed encounter in the Old Chateau. I decided not to grab the Eterna Forest and Route 211 encounters yet, but I got the guaranteed Feebas from Mt. Coronet. On the way to get Gardenia from Route 216 so I could battle her, the first casualty of this run occured, I lost Sirens, the Magnemite to Ace Trainer Laura's Reversal Swellow, which completely caught me off guard. That death was unfortunate, but on the way back, I picked up a Snover on the same route. After getting Gardenia to return to her gym, it was time to battle her. Kricketune set the tone by taking out her lead Bellossom, I switch to Ivysaur to take the incoming Tangela's stun spore, and kill it Sludge. Out came Gardenia's ace, her Roserade. I swap to Umbreon to take the Extrasensory, and quickly pivot into Gyrados to kill it with Bounce. Breloom was next up, and I swap to Marshstomp on the incoming Thunderpunch, and I pivot to Staravia for the Intimidate, Jackie takes a full 5-hit bullet seed, so I go back into Kricketune to take the Mach Punch, and kill with Aerial Ace. Cherrim came in to set up Sunny Day, and I didn't have much that could handle both Fire-Type weather ball and grass knot, but Umbreon is tanky enough to win the war of attrition, and Kricketune 1v1's her final Pokemon, Grotle, and that's the second gym badge. I take back what I said about getting Kricketot from one of the opening routes, I'm not sure if I beat Gardenia without it

I am however able to beat the fourth gym leader Elesa with just Dusty who is now my ace. I would go on to lose Smogger but I would then catch a Marill I named Bubbles and be given a Zorua too.Any advice for Clay? I also plan on going into Chargestone cave to get a pokemon.
Eaaaaat shit
Here is the current squad
>>56858444>Skitty has a huge movepoolExactly. I would have loved to use it as a special attacker with ice beam, thunderbolt etc. but now i have a cat that hits nothing for super effective damage but can use thunder wave on ground types i guess
I was hoping for magnemite. Looks like the poison gym is going to be a bitch. Time to grind!

>>56858257Noxu the Beatifly soloed Brawly. Got a guaranteed Aron encounter in Granite Cave but had to leg it all the way to Mauville to get the Mach bike before i could access the lower cave level and catch it.Also forgot to mention i managed to get through route 102 without encountering any mons so i decided to skip catching anything from there for now. Hopefully i'll catch a Lombre near Fallarbor town so i would have a guaranteed Ralts/Surskit encounter on route 102.
Here is the team. Been playing off and on today. Probably play a bit more then I'll call it a night.
So it turns out the game has a softlock in the movie theatre. Because I started a new game without deleting the old save file I can't progress without starting over. What in the actual fuck was game freak thinking? You used to be able just to overwrite shit. This guy won't let me leave until I save but I'm not allowed to save.
I think I might have a solution (fingers crossed it doesn't break anything).I installed an action replay cheat to move through walls so that I can leave the movie place. On Linux there is no GUI for this in desmume (the explanation I found online for why this is makes no sense) but it turns out I can just edtit a config file to add cheats.
One more battle after this and I'm calling it a night.
>>56860353That's been a thing since at least gen 3, probably so your younger sibling doesn't erase your progress or to make sure you want to erase it. I'm guessing the action replay worked out?
Here is the current team. Nobody has died yet, two Pokemon were boxed, and I missed an encounter in Castelia City (by the tree).>>56861181Yeah, I was able to progress.

Current team. I haven't caught anything in that relic place connected to the sewers. I guess I'll go there.
Not the best pokemon, but I follow no dupes rule so maybe this will allow me something better in the future.
>>56862433I accidentally loaded when I meant to save. Had to recatch Ratata.
Let's say you finally get past a boss, a Pokemon or two may have died along the way, and then at some point afterwards your save corrupts and you lose progress, so you gotta go back to whatever was the closest backup save you had, say some time before the fightHow would you personally deal with it? Restart the whole run right then and there? Do the same fight(s) again but rush through 'em just to get back to where you were, still letting whatever died stay dead afterwards (even if they somehow don't die)? Do the same fights again and consider it a second chance for said Pokemon that died?
>one shot my another Darumaka critDamn what the actual fuck is up with their attack stat. This time it was a wild pokemon and I was 4 levels stronger. I thought it would be fine. Shit.
Son of a bitch. Come on I need a ground pokemon.

Day 6.I continue with my nuzlocke. I catch a Nosepass which i name Beacon and evolve it into a Probopass straight away, never used this pokemon before. My Zorua then evolves into a Zoroark making all the things better, I then beat the fifth gym leader Clay without losing a pokemon. Today I've lost no pokemon.Any advice for Skyla?

>>56865429LA is probably close to SV in difficulty, more so for lacking proper routes, but i think it actually has classified areas compared to SV. You can just close your eyes and run until you battle something though.
I had to restart again. Here is the current team after beating the second gym. I will likely bench Fume and Scout. Fume hasn't been used once.
Lost Puma in the sewers. You are forced to double battle down there with Hugh. Two zubats hit Puma in the same turn, one of them crit. Hugh autoheals the party though so he looks fine. Once i finish this part with team plasma I'll go release him.
>>56867618Forgot pic. Yeah, so I'll just refuse to use him until I can leave the sewer.
>>56867626I already caught my pokemon in the sewers (rattata) before I met up with Hugh. Then I boxed him and came back. I didn't want to risk Hugh one shotting something in a double battle.
>>56860262>Excited to finally use Aron>Immediately lose it because i forgot for a second that Magnet Pull is a thingPain pain pain. At least there's still a chance to get it in Omega Ruby.Wattson fell to Gira and Noster. The former set up Mud Sport and the latter swept with Ember.
I've been planning out a new nuzlocke run in Sword. I figured out how I want to answer the whole overworld/random encounter question, but now I'm wondering if I should incorporate the Isle of Armor DLC into this run. Does anyone here have experience playing the DLC before the beating the game?
Just beat the bug gym. Here is the current team.>>56867618* release himActually, I have a graveyard box in the pc.
>>56867856It has been a while, so don't take this as gospel but I believe the Isle of Armour does scale to your current progress in the game? Meaning, if you visit it as soon as you possibly can, you'll be able to find Pokemon at a more reasonable level to help out during the main gameI think that's how it works, anyway
>>56868499That's what I'm seeing. The question is when to go to Isle of Armor, if I go there at all. I've also thought about turning it into a side-run to the main game, using the Galarian Slowpoke you catch in Wedgehurst as a new starter of sorts and only using Pokemon caught in Isle of Armor while I'm there.I'll have to watch some walkthroughs to get an idea of the pacing and the items you get. A lot of people say the EXP Charm you get really trivializes the main game.
>>56856140>>56856211Because of my error in catching the Old Chateau Rotom, I rule my run void and start over. A quick rundown of encounters>Chimchar is always the starter pick>Turtwig from Sandgem Town>Bidoof from Route 201>Shinx from Route 202>Psyduck from Verity>I miss the Horsea from route 219 and nab a Krabby instead>Starly from Route 205>Finneon from Route 208>Wooper from Ravaged Path>Mime Jr. from the Trainer School egg>Bulbasaur from Jubilife City>Bellsprout from route 204>Because of the Wooper catch, I can take Beldum from Orebrough (forgive the nickname, I was in autoplay mode and forgot to name it)>Zubat from the mines>Phanphy from Route 207A lot of solid mons here, but of course, last, and definitely not least, I luck out on by far the best encounter this early in the game, I get the 10% chance Riolu from Orebrough cave. I can evolve it into Lucario before the first gym, and it rewards me by sweeping Roark on his own. Expert Belt+Adaptability means that all of Roark's mons get one-tapped. Next up is to make way to Floaroma town, and a Commander Mars fight that will surely be less nervy than the previous attempt
Day 7.I continue with my nuzlocke. First I catch an Aron that I name Tankster and then he evolves into a Lairon. I make my way through Chargestone cave which is one of my favourite locations in pokemon and then I catch a Zangoose I name Slashie but I lose her soon after so now I have 5 pokemon.Any advice for Skyla since I still haven't battled her yet? I want to send out Beacon against her Swanna to use an electric move but her Swanna is a water type that outspeeds Probopass.
>>56868580>A lot of people say the EXP Charm you get really trivializes the main game.It does unless you are meticulous about switching mons in and out, or at least use level caps(in which case it becomes an issue to tame your EXP).Having that separate Isle of Armor squad being a B-squad and splitting the EXP with the standard team is probably your best bet of keeping levels down.
>>56868580SwSh is general are so piss easy because of the forced Exp Share that the only difficulty is in trying to not overlevel.

RIP another strong fighter.
>>56870822>Game just hands you a Latias along with a mega stone after the fifth gymStarting to see why the remake is considered easier than the original. Holding off the encounter on route 102 didn't end up paying off since i ended up with a Lotad in the end anyway. Gyarados is staying on the team mainly for HM duty and will probably get replaced by a Feebas since i've never caught or used one and they made it a lot easier to track one down.
>>56869047Provopass does have great special defense, but you're still taking super effective damage. It's a risk that might or might not pay off, it's up to you if you want to take it.
Grinding at Relic Resort. I should have grabbed the macho brace and come back if I wanted to min-max.
>>56865429>trynna fix rotational saves>overwrite all saves insteadI'm so retarded and so mad. I'll skip this rom for now.
>>56871426And that's in addition to the exp share, affection bonuses, and ev training.
CRIT
Fume has shit special defense. I forgot air cutter was a special attack not physical. Damn, I knew it would have air cutter too and that move crits a lot so I sent out Fume because she is a defense sponge.Pour one out for my homie Fumehttps://youtu.be/YejxyaFyUHc?si=Tq463CP9lKKzjqRL
So are these hidden grotto mon better? I looked it up and they basically just have different abilities? If they are worth getting I'll try using repels and try for grotto encounters. There is one in the nearby forest I can still get since I didn't explore it fully and bulbapedia says there is a grotto there. This is the mandatory encounter in pic related.
>>56874306>affection bonusesForgot those were even a thing. I've yet to have a single one trigger but i really haven't touched the pokemon amie feature either
>>56874586Hidden Grotto's are the way you get Pokémon with hidden abilities, but the spawn odds are split between Pokémon and items. Some, like Skill Link Minccino, are worth catching, others aren't. They're also not worth grinding, it's 256 steps for a 5% chance at regenerating the spawn.
>>56874739Affection bonuses don't trigger unless you do Amie/refresh.They only combined the friendship and affection system later, but even then they hard cap the affection if you didn't do camping, picnics or use friendship berries. Except in BDSP.
>>56874586Yes, like >>56874753 said, Hidden Grottos have Pokemon with their hidden abilities and those vary in quality. The Trainer Data for these Pokemon says the met location is Hidden Grotto, so a question you'll have to answer is whether to count a single encounter for all grottos in the game or count each grotto as a potential encounter for the route it is located.>They're also not worth grinding, it's 256 steps for a 5% chance at regenerating the spawn.I don't think this is a big issue while you are just making your way through the game. Just go back and check them every once in a while.
Day 8.I continue with my nuzlocke. First I catch a Golbat that I name Echo and I beat the sixth gym leader Skyla with no issue. After arriving in Reversal Mountain, I catch a Camerupt I name Emberlyn but also a Banette I name Hexa. I decided to put those two pokemon on my team while putting Tankster the Lairon and Zoroark in the reserves for now. Regardless I now have more than six pokemon.Any advice for the routes past Undella town all the way to Opeulucid City? Last time i did a nuzlocke on Pokemon Black 2, I lost a ton of good pokemon before making it to Opelucid City.
>>56874852When i say grind, I mean not advancing through the route until you nab an encounter from the grotto, especially in a Nuzlocke.
>>56871426Zacar soloed Winona. The intimidate from Mega evolution helped her tank an Earthquake from Altaria despite being 2 levels below her and 2 Discharges were enough to take the cotton bird out.Time to backtrack through the water routes between Dewford and Slateport to see if there's anything interesting to find there
These gym trainers ain't fucking around.>>56875165Good team. I love Camerupt
>Crit Flame chargeKeep in mind this isn't the leader just one of the gym trainers. That's two crit one hit kos
I think there is still a route that I haven't caught anything on. Maybe I'll get something good. That one fight hit me hard. Damn.
>>56875895I would have said Flame Charge would have KO'd without a crit anyway, but the Blitzle line just feels like it lacks that bit of attack needed to KO consistently.
Jusr beat Roark in renegade Plat. 2nd gym has been the biggest filter.
Got the bolt badge. Roselia toxic spikes and giga drain did wonders. Made sure to have Truffle handle the death zebra and I got lucky with no volt switch crits.
N's Zorua is in my Nuzlock tracker so I guess I'll receive it. Also, Bill was slain in combat. I detest air cutter, it has taken so many friends.
>>56877010Interesting choice for an image for Zorua.
Nope I already found a fungus monster on this route.>>56877035kek

>>56876426nvm, wiped to a swellow. fml
OH FUCK. Roselia the time is now!
>>56875725Took a risk and opted to not go for the level cap against Tate & Liza since the 8th gym is only 1 level higher. Luckily the combination or Discharge from mega Razac and Shadow Ball from Nodatsu was enough to take out Solrock before it had a chance to do anything. Lunatone setup Light Screen and got off 1 Psychic before following suit.

Curse Damage puts Dong in kill range for Shadow Punch, so I send Merida in to soak that Punch.Golurk hits an Earthquake, but Merida ends the fight with Aerial Ace.Shauntal ended up tougher than I expected, brought a bunch of my mons to low health. The Amoonguss I brought was one I mostly leveled up from a level 35 Foongus just to have a neat switchin with Rocky Helmet and Effect Spore, not a long term team member, but it helped out nicely.

Now just need to grind a few more levels and tackle the league.>>56878987Bergmite a cute
>>56879972In the gym now. Close call.
Finally got back to my ruby nuzlocke after stalling and grinded everything up to level 50. Sydney was a pushover. Phoebe was a little harder, but then her Dusclops crit my Blaziken with an Earthquake on the switch. Beat her, but I lost my wincon against Glacia (bulkup spam against Glalie) and her Walrein sweeped me (though I would also have likely died to Steven if not her). Welp, time to try again and hope that half of my encounters aren't going to be zigzagoons and linoones this time.
>>56880429Not running dupe clause?
I was able to beat Clay. After some grinding, I was able to squeeze a victory without casualties using attack debuffs and getting lucky enough not to receive any crits.Truffle really pulled through and took out Excadrill.
It was a solid victory but things really could have swung in the other direction.
>>56880429Off to a nice start. Still doing the same naming theme (roles in modern competitive that mirrors ADV counterparts) so we got a Beautifly named Ting-Lu (hoped it would be Dustox since both are special walls), a Torchic named Pheromosa (mixed attacker that utilizes speed increases), a Nuzleaf named Arctozolt (mixed attacker that sweeps with weather), a Whismur named Abomasnow (slow mixed attacker), a Taillow named Hawlucha (fast physical attackers that need an extra boost to their damage to get going), and as many extreme speed users I can find for Zigzagoon (a lot of overlap with last run).
>>56880468nah, if I'm already doing champs clause, dupes feels like cheating. If I want no more zigzagoons then I better bring one alive to steven.
>>56880262>VS Sidney>Razac sweeps with Thunderbolt and Flamethrower>VS Phoebe>Gira leads and hits Dusclops with a Shadow Claw>Dusclops uses Confuse ray, Gira eats it's Chesto berry and takes Dusclops out with a second Shadow Claw>Sableye comes out>Gira tanks a Fake out and then a Foul Play while hitting back with a Shadow Claw>I swap in Bason who tanks a Foul Play before taking Sableye out with a Scald>Dusknoir comes out, i swap in Razac who gets a sp.att boost from a Thunder Punch>Razac takes Dusknoir and the 2 Banettes that follow out with Thunderbolt>VS Glacia>Noster leads and takes Glalie out with Flamethrower>Walrein comes out. In hindsight i should have led with Razac>I swap in Razac who luckily doesn't catch a Sheer Cold to the face but instead tanks a Surf>Razac sweeps with Thunderbolt and Flamethrower>VS Drake>Bason sweeps Altaria, Salamence and 2 Flygons with Ice Beam>Kingdra comes out and Yawns>Bason Has a Lum Berry but Ice Beam only 3-hits Kingdra and Drake heals it twice with a Full Restores so the eventual second Yawn puts Bason to sleep>I opt to keep Bason in for a couple of turns since he's really bulky and i don't want to risk a Sniper crit on one of my weaker mons>Sadly Bason stays asleep for 3 turns and can no longer tank hits so i swap in Razac who luckily doesn't get crit by a Dragon Pulse>Razac takes Kingdra out with a Thunderbolt
Day 9.I continue with my nuzlocke. First I unfortunately lose Bubbles which sucked but I did gain two new pokemon, an Altaria I named Nimbus which went in the reserves and a Seel named Frosty who is now on the main team, Frosty would quickly evolve into a Dewgong. I did try to catch Mantyke and Lunatone but failed but it's no big deal.Any advice for Drayden? It's his gym where I lost my nuzlocke at last time.
>>56881004>VS Steven>I lead with Razac who immediately mega evolves and hits Skarmory with a Flamethrower, hoping for a burn which sadly doesn't happen.>Skarmory survives the hit with Sturdy and hits back with a Toxic>Steven heals so i waste another turn proccing Sturdy>Razac Volt Switches which takes out Skarmory>I send out Bason while Steven answers with a Cradily>Ice Beam puts Cradily down to ~50% hp>Cradily uses Confuse Ray, Bason eats another Lum berry. Second Ice Beam kills.>Aggron comes out, survives a Scald with Sturdy and hits back with a Stone Edge>Steven wastes another Full Restore trying to heal but Aggron dies to 2 more Scalds nonetheless>Claydol comes out, survives a Scald and sets up Light Screen>I don't want to face Metagross with Light Screen up so Bason sets up his own Screen and starts stalling with Recover>Steven's Light Screen eventually fades and Bason takes Claydol out with another Scald>Armaldo comes out and falls to a Scald>Metagross finally comes out>I opt to leave Bason in and hit Mega Metagross with a Scald that fucking finally procs a burn!>Metagross hits back with a Zen Headbutt>Bason goes for another Scald that barely doesn't kill>Metagross hits hard with a Giga Impact but Bason lives it and the burn damage finishes the metal monstrosity offBason clutched the final battle even gaining 2 levels in the process but Razac was the real MVP thanks to her mega evolution basically trivializing Archie and the Team Aqua portion of the game. She along with Nodatsu being immune to Discharge also made a lot of double battles easy victories instead of being potential death battles. Not sure if i want to do Y or OR next. Running low on encounters in early Hoenn so if i get the same mons as encounters in Y i probably can't afford to champion any of them which makes them kinda useless.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>>56881841I don't know what the fuck I was thinking. Guess I forgot it was a flying type. Ole Truffle had full health but that mon's attack power was strong and he crit. He nearly killed another on my team without critting in one hit. Holy shit.
>>56881890Archen and Archeps are really dangerous. You really need a way to get them to half health immediately.Of course, if you have one, they'll clean house too.
>>56881841That Archen is a living nuke.112 Atk and Acrobatics with STAB is 165 Based Power. Now adding in effectiveness, 330.
>>56881934>>56882456i was fighting for the bird badge. Lost a friend along the way health was red but that was fine I thought since after using fly I could switch out. The turn order changed for some reason and I'm not sure why. So my Swan got hit twice on one fly.
We've lost so many friends along the way ...
>>56877843And it is time for N and Ghetsis. In my earlier runs, this would be the end of the Nuzlocke, but I'm going all the way to Champion Alder this time.I also realized I forgot to add my Golett from the Dragonspiral Tower to the update image until now.>Vs N>ZekromIt unleashes a Fusion Bolt onto Dong Bai, who Charms it in return.Zekrom sets up a Light Screen, then gets Charmed again.Zen Headbutt misses as Dong Bai uses Toxic.Another Fusion Bolt, and a final Charm.I send Kole in on a Fusion Bolt which does almost nothing.Another Fusion Bolt, and Kole sets up Stealth Rock. And then Zekrom scores a Fusion Bolt Crit, sending Kole into the red, but Stone Edge gets the KO.>Klinklang(Zoroark)I send in Mr Punch on a Focus Blast Miss. The next Focus Blast hits and gets a SpDef drop, but Close Combat takes out the fake pile of gears.>KlinklangClose Combat also takes out the actual gears.>VanilluxeAnd the icicle.>ArcheopsThis is where that Fusion Bolt crit from earlier really hurts. I had Rocky Helmet on Gigalith, and the combo of a Gigalith switchin and Stealth Rock was supposed to put Archeops close to Defeatist. Even outside that, Kole was probably my best mon for the job. Instead, I end up having to either just sack Toadette at this point(risky considering Carracosta) or go for a risky option.I send in The Nix, hoping I won't get KO'd. Acrobatics puts The Nix in the red, but the monkey does survive. It is a very speedy monkey, so I get the KO with Surf before Archeops can hit again.>CarracostaI send Amoonguss in, Aqua Jet.Stone Edge hits hard but Giga Drain takes it out.
>>56883241>Vs Ghetsis>CofagrigusDong Bai sets up a Light Screen, and Cofagrigus uses Toxic.I send Merida in on a Shadow Ball. The next Shadow Ball causes a SpDef Drop as Merida Swords Dances.Protect stops an Iron Head. Another Shadow Ball SpD Drop, and Iron Head barely fails to get the KO. Screen fades. I send Dong Bai back in, seeing the Full Restore coming.Cofagrigus uses Protect, Dong Bai puts Light Screen up.Another Protect as Merida comes back in.Two straight turns of Protect and Iron Head.Shadow Ball, and Iron Head finally gets to hit.Shadow Ball SpDef Drop, Iron Head again.Another two straight turns of Protect and Iron Head. Finally a Shadow Ball turn and an Iron Head crit finishes the sarcophagus off.>HydreigonI send Dong Bai in on Focus Blast.Dragon Pulse does a number on her, but she gets the Light Screen up- but with less than 10 HP left after toxic damage, this is her last assist of the fight.I send in Mr. Punch on another Dragon Pulse.A final Dragon Pulse, then Hydreigon falls to Close Combat.>BouffalantAlso falls to Close Combat.>EelektrossI send Kole in on Acrobatics, Rocky Helmet doing some damage.Eelektross then Wild Charges, only to get taken out by Stone Edge.>SeismitoadI send Toadette in on Muddy Water.Seismitoad Rain Dances, and almost gets KO'd by Giga Drain. It hits hard with Earthquake, but Giga Drain finishes it.>BisharpThe nasty part here is that all my best options to fight it are injured and could die to a Night Slash on the switchin. I could tempt fate again with The Nix, but if Focus Blast misses, it would be all for naught. So instead I decided to sacrifice Toadette to let Mr. Punch in, Night Slash taking the mushroom out. One final Close Combat, and Ghetsis falls.
>>56880908Beat Wattson thanks to Ting-Lu's (Beautifly) Stun Spore and sacrifice. Somehow I thought to give it a Cheri Berry and luckily it switched in on a Thunder Wave. Thinking about switching out Pheromosa (Combuskhen) soon as I think I'll be getting a fire type and Gliscor (Makuhita) should be evolved in a bit.
>>56883057Speed tie I would think.
>>56881077I would get some extra levels, you're very under Drayden's ace. If Dewgong still has Ice Shard, that might be your best bet, getting Golbat evolved would help too. Just be aware that Drayden has an answer for ice types on his non ace mons.
>>56866448Thanks! Played LA for an hour and it was decent-fun but doesn't seem good for a nuzlocke, in all sense of it. Downloading Sw/Sh now. I deliberately did not watch any content of it since launch to nuzlocke it blind.. and this is the right moment.
>>56884108Comfy so far!

>>56881175I need to do Delta Episode in Alpha Sapphire so i can get a Cyndaquil/Chikorita/Totodile to use as a starter for Omega Ruby and i couldn't be bothered to do it yet so ended up starting Y instead.First gym down with 0 deaths this time around thanks to Rollout spam from Vernon the Dunsparce. Nina the Budew somehow has 25+ IVs in every stat so i want to somehow fit her on the team even though i have a grass starter too.
>>56884669I remember in the Alola games, trainers who want to battle are usually holding a Poke Ball, as if they're waiting for a challenge, and then when you approach 'em, the screen almost zooms in/letterboxes, all to signal that they're not just some random NPC but a fightDo they not do that in Sword and Shield too?
A rare pepe!! Holy shit, I haven't seen a shiny in ages.>update3 deaths so far, had to sac Mickey the Bounsweet to a retarded Lv26 normal-sized Duskull.
