Reminder for people just starting and deck building, the game is hard coded to give you a basic pokemon in your opening hand. Which means the ideal deck building is to only include 2 different basic mons in your deck, do not overload it. Some decks can even work with just 2 copies of 1 mon (Zapdos turbo for example) since you are guaranteed to open with one of them in your hand

The numbers don't make sense in this game. It's the number of points you need to win. It should be 4, not 3. It needs to be even, otherwise 1 EX and 1 non-EX loses you the game just as badly as 2 EX.
