I have to give this area credit though; the Book of Abyss/Mystics/Spirits available in the Star Temple are excellent counterplay to what the boss throws at you. Having a boss that's a huge difficulty spike have Achilles heels' spread around the area you fight it in that you can utilize if you explore thoroughly is surprisingly lucid game design compared to everything else this game has done.

Had to grind out a few more levels to meet some critical 1HKO/2HKO breakpoints on the ayyylmao's attacks but it was easy enough once I had the raw stats to throw at him to take more than 1-2 hits per mon. He's surprisingly not nearly as bad as Rayquomi looked if you don't have access to a bunch of the stat boosting mechanics/have shit IVs & EVs.
