>tfw when you catch a Pokemon with the right nature and perfect IVs.
>>56817269>playing gen3+no I don't think I will
>>56817269You can catch a pokemon with perfect IVs?
Does this stuff even do anything? I never cared about it and always used pokemons I caught first.
>but it's the wrong ability/gender
>>56817291Statistically improbable for normal circumstances, but it's definitely possible. If you were using Dexnav or some other scenario to guarantee 3 perfect IVs, the odds are still almost 1 in 30,000.
>>56817291Not perfect, but the memory link Pokemon in BW2 are all 30/31 for their IVs
>>56817297It only matters in comp where speed points or a little bit of extra bulk/damage could decide a game.
>catch a pokemon>it has an attacking stat deficient nature
>>56817297Here's a chart I made to demonstrate. The impacts of IVs, EVs, and base stats scale with level. Competetive battles are at level 50, so this is what matters to most people. At this level a perfect IV (31) gives about 15 points to a stat compared to having an IV of zero. Meanwhile, EV training for full investment gives about 22 points in that stat. Natures are applied after everything else, giving or taking 10% from the total, and thus matter more when it's already a big difference. In the chart, I used Lucario's base special attack stat of 115. In green, you can see that at level 50, with full EV investment, and a beneficial nature (like Modest), Lucario would have a 183. In red, with a zero IV score, no EV training, and a deleterious nature (like Adamant), Lucario would have 108 special attack at level 50. This means you can get a whopping 75 point difference in this scenario, translating to quite a difference in damage output. In yellow, you can see an example of a beneficial nature with a 31 IV score yielding 148. This is still 40 points higher than the worst case and 16 points higher than the best we can do with a zero IV and beneficial nature.In-game, it's likely only to matter in places like the Battle Tower where you'll face lots of foes that with max IVs, EVs, and useful natures. In most case though, in-game foes have pretty poor values, with exceptions being Elite 4 trainers and the like. Plus, you can see how much more a level 100 pokemon benefits from base stats and the like versus a level 50 one. If you have a higher level, the advantage is seriously substantial.
>>56817481>special attacker is modest>physical attacker is adamantyeah, I'm thinking based.
>>56817269I did this in Let's Go thanks to chaining and the psychic who influences natures.
Pokemon is pretty blackpilled. Just like reallifeBluepillers like Karen will say that any pokémon can be strong. That it all depends on the trainerIn reality; some species are better than othersYou need to have the right genes/IVs and training/EVs literally doesnt matter much. They matter insofar as you can either fuck up or maximize your potential but it doesnt create potential in the first place
>>56817922lol, lmao even.
>>56817928Exceptions don't prove the ruleThis Pachirisu is the equivalent of a man who managed to maximize a very specific trait in a niche who allowed him to be successfulAnd it's only successful in that nicheIn other words"being a dwarf doesn't matter. Look at that Game of thrones actor!""Being a congenital cripple doesnt matter! Look at Stephen Hawkins!"
>>56817870Did you get those backwards or do you just mean like literally every competitive pokemon ever is based? Modest boosts special attack.
>>56818133
>>56817928pachirisu was only good in that specific format and hasn't been good ever since
>>56817291If you RNG manip anything for the 3DS or get lucky with something that has multiple guaranteed 31s like the dexnav, recent legends, friend safari, or raid dens. I caught a 6IV shiny Latios in B2 using only rngreporter and eon timer, and I traded for a japanese guy's probably cloned 6IV friend safari ditto in XY before bank and pkhex allowed hax for gen 6.
>>56817269>doesn't have the right hidden power
>>56817269A Pokemon with Best IVs feels better than one that has been hyper trained.
>>56817269Didn’t they remove one of those mechanics after Gen 6?t. Skipped Gen 3D
>>56823731You can bottlecap, patch/capsule, and nature mint perfect IVs, abilities/hidden abilities, and natures onto any Pokemon now in the postgame with the only drawback being that they're only modifiers that can't be passed down via breeding like real perfect IVs and natures. As long as your favorite mon doesn't need an egg move you can make it into a perfect competitively viable loadout with just a bit of postgame grind.
>>56823796Jesus Christ as much as I liked SV, it really normied the fucking franchise in a big way. I could have almost any Pokemon, shiny and with perfect IVs plus it's hidden ability. It can even be whatever type I want it to be or all of them at fucking once.
>>56823812Its better than soft resetting your starter for an hour or replacing the bro who carried you through the whole playthrough with some soulless bred replacement just to do the battle tower. Though it makes HAs piss easy when they used to be something special you'd have to try to find. And they do just give you shinies out the ass now. It's only a matter of time until they add a shinifier item.
>>56823877just use pokehex to edit your existing bros man. it's the same shit
>>56823889I do because I stopped caring but it would be nice to have an Emerald or Heart Gold ROM that just max IVs everything including the opponents and turns off EVs with no further changes.
>>56823812And yet for VGCucks who don't play the game it's still somehow too little>>56823889Stop cheating
>>56823985I also spoof to get gift mons that aren't available anymore.watcha gonna do sar?
