You know, I actually kind of prefer this to the regular TCG,
It removes a lot of the fluff, and getting an important card for your deck stuck in the prize cards sucks.

Would be nice if they did put in the full game later as it gets more cards though. Maybe a Master mode or something.

i do indeed like it more, also the fact i often had bad rng and just not get any energy cards at all is a problem i don't have to deal with here

>Would be nice if they did put in the full game later as it gets more cards though. Maybe a Master mode or something.
but yeah an optional legacy mode would of course be neat too

Needs stadiums and a little more depth imo.
the removal of prize cards and energies is a good streamline imo
>>
>no stage 2 support yet again
new format, same old shit
cant wait for popular stage 2s to get a basic EX form so the designers can keep pretending evolution isn't an iconic feature of the franchise that deserves to work in the tcg

I think making this game F2P-friendly with daily free packs is a stroke of genius. It makes the whole thing feel very approachable and makes you keep the game on your phone to see what you would get daily, which is very important for a game like this. Letting you buy the cards you want with points you accumulate is also great, it's kinda like a pity system in a gacha game. Another great idea was making packs the main focus instead of battling. People get in because gacha looks fun, but then the game eases you into its actual gameplay, going "hey, opening packs sure is fun, now how about we try playing with them?", instead of focusing on the fact that it's a TCG, which scares casual players who just wanna roll the gacha.
I think this game has a bright future.

A lot of the shuffling around of the original tcg is honestly a product of how poor the base rules are and how much card design needs to make up for that, hence why you need to draw half your deck turn 1 to actually be able to make a play.
TCG pocket fixes some of it, but a lot is still there. The 20 card decks and free energy does a lot to alleviate the need for draw, but I feel like they should have made stronger supporter cards early on, as it stands half of any deck is still made up of "bad" cards that only exist to stall out when you inevitably brick.
I appreciate that Sabrina is not Boss' Order though, I feel like this design is much healthier for the game. And I appreciate that one shots are actually hard to find/set up and that health numbers actually matter on mons, something that hasn't breen true in the original tcg for god knows how long.
Overall I'm mostly positive on it, but I feel like for a first set it's only 60% of what they could have done to make the game more enjoyable.

tcg live is way more f2p friendly than this honestly, but the truth is that no matter how much posers say they miss the complexity of the original tcg they sure as fuck aren't playing it because it's actually miserable to play. Roaring moon EX actually made me quit.

I enjoy the game quite a bit but I don't think anyone should spend money on this or any gacha.

We have /ppg/, this is the game review thread.

It's boring as fuck. The lure to this is just opening packs, not the actual gameplay.

>my Marowak mised 2 times on the enemy Chancey while opponent keeps buffing up his Pikachu (i repeat - i flipped X-X _ X-X mising attacks both times doing 0 damage)
>im having a fucking stoke. my soul crushed and i actually felt physical pain
>oh fuck fuck fuck...holy shit...
>eventually i flip 1 coin and kill chancey off
>keep 1HKO pikachu EX and it gives me 2 points and i win
uh...um... Thanks Marowak...i guess.

Using a deck that relies on coin flips is FUCKING UP MY NERVES
PS:
still this game is the most fun i had with Pokemon in a long while

having played about 6 hours of it I don't think it's very good. maybe if you're 10, less so if you're a grown man
the battle system is boring, collections feel pointless, there's one set
would never spend money on this.
>>
>>56833094
>remove energy draw
>game is immensely better
Woow. Since Hearthstone we understood how mana systems should work. Now Magic should get the memo.
>>
>>56840305
I know right. the game is so fast and fun.
also i like that you can play with non-Ex card and make Ex-fags seethe and cancel matches
>>
>open game
>no item shit
>no sync grid autism
>just open packs and stare at cards
I can't even battle yet and this is the happiest I've been with mobile gaming in years
>>
>water frog/misty deck opponent
>ok let's do this before they buff up the polywrath
>kill staruy - 1point
>match instantly ends
kek
mistyfags i swear. They always cancel if they wont be able to use their cards early
