I want to play Dawn's game. Does BDSP preserve the tedious triviality of old pokemon games, that can't even really be fixed by nuzlocking? Is a Platinum randomizer for Citra my best bet? I emulated Platinum and gen 5 ages ago and they were the only ones I ever lost interest in, but I'm coming around on Sinnoh

you could try renegade platinum if vailla was too trivial. it has a following pokemon patch too.

idk about bdsp, i know it has experience sharing and friendship boost that are always on so it might be even easier.
>>
>>56858345
>>56858453
I agreed about Renegade Platinum
Also you can use the 60 FPS patch to make the game run faster (mind you it causes sound/music to desync)
>>
>>56858453
Renegade is good. could also try PlatinumQoL if you're just looking for a mostly vanilla experience, but with added QoL
>>
>>56858345
Sinnoh is trash and only beloved by zoomies who grew up with it
>>56858453
renegade fixes most of shitnnohs problems but playing it is still a pain because of how slow it is.
>>
>>56858697
>Sinnoh is le slow
but it's not really. it takes about the same amount of time to play as any other Pokemon game. the meme scenarios from webms like one shotting a level 100 Blissey don't actually happen to regular players.
>>
>>56858708
I beat both DP and PT and no the games are really fucking slow
>1 single exp share given by some random professor
>HP take forever to drop
Thats not even mentioning the horrible pokemon distribution
>>
>>56858697
nah, sinnoh's great you sound like a little faggot
>>
>>56858736
Sinnoh is actually trash especially DP, Platinum fixes some of the issues but its like a bandaid
>>
>>56858684
Following Platinum (and by extension Platinum Qol) have the FPS unlock as an option in-game so that might be the absolute best way to play platinum
>>56858708
Sinnoh is slow, search the 60 FPS patch and see for yourself
>>
>>56858750
Sinnoh is actually kino, especially DP.
>>
>>56858729
>1 single exp share given by some random professor
like every game?
>HP take forever to drop
it’s hardly noticeable until you’re near the end of the game, and it still isn’t ever that bad
>Thats not even mentioning the horrible pokemon distribution
it isn’t
>>
>>56858729
who the fuck cries about 1 exp share
>>
>>56858772
Bad game design it engorges you level up just 1 or 2 Pokemon
>>
>>56858772
Kalosperms, as always

Yep, there aren’t any level 95 Blisseys outside of the frontier lol

Nah
>>

>Nah
So you are telling me that DP, the games that had almost all the new gen 4 evos not present in the regional dex has good Pokémon distribution?
Nah
>>
>>56858453
Renegade Platinum looks promising. Imo exp share is one of the best things to happen to pokemon, having to grind a billion shitmons in the grass just to have a full usable team (instead of overleveled starter + 1 legendary + 4 worthless HM slaves) was always retarded. You can always send your overleveled mons on vacation in the box and let the role players shine. Funny that it's forced on to give purists an aneurysm but I had to eat my words when SV forced switch battle mode on me for no fucking reason.
>>
>>56858873
yep sure did. diamond and pearl’s regional dex was masterfully crafted.
>>
>>56858785
Fat mons taking forever to lose their HP is pure kinosoul tho. And if a lvl 95 fucking blissey taking under 30 seconds to die is the upper bound then realistically nothing in the normal course of the game will be all that obnoxious

a lot of people say to emulate platinum. I prefer first party hardware to play it on, but I'm using Emu just to see what the fuss is about. So far, eh, I don't really use speedup and I don't like how fullscreen looks on my device. These are the pokemon I've found an interest in so far that I've caught.
>>56858785
who uses a fucking level 95 Blissey in singleplayer plat, or competitive for that matter, the levels are fixed there.
>>

same people who complain about SM dialog btw

DP has one of best designed regional dexes. Every pokemon in DP serves a purpose, each one carefully chosen to be in Sinnoh for a reason, unlike every other game, including Platinum. The lesser games just mass dump pokemon into regions without thinking of how they would interact with their environment or each other, or they're like BW which doesn't even make any sense and just restricts old pokemon to postgame. Platinum is soulless slop made because little children couldn't handle proper region design. DP would have the best regional dex since RBY and GSC.

First we shall start with the new regional evolutions, many of them are postgame because these powerful and rare pokemon have been recently discovered and only the best trainers can use them. The regional dex is small because only certain pokemon can survive Sinnoh's environment, great worldbuilding ruined by Platinum, why would Tropius even be in Sinnoh? Even ice types like Glalie would have trouble surviving against pokemon like Abomasnow and Sneasel, once again raped by Platinum.

And god, the teambuilding. What sets Sinnoh trainers apart is how limited they are to the pokemon that survived Sinnoh's environment. It's incredible seeing how intelligent they had to be to compensate. Volkner and Flint changed what it meant to specialize in a type. Flint was the first fire specialist to reach the E4 when they're are only 2 fire types in Sinnoh! Absolutely incredible!
>>
>>56858956
>SM out of fucking nowhere
are you the same kiddy whining about exp share?
>>
>>56858969
Lmao shut up nigga not having your new evolutions available during the story is bad game design most encounter tables are full of kanto shitmons like geodude and golbat and even the post game is full of Raticates
>>
>>56858954
why hold off piplup's evo?

Having identity =/= not being shitmon. SM has a pretty solid set of identifiable designs used fairly often, but they're all slow as shit. XY Pokemon are fine but the game has no identity because you barely fucking see them.
>>56859044
Not found on that location, retard. You want to lie to the player?

Powerful post game evos like... Dusknoir? The eeveelution? Hell you're given a riolu as part of the normal progression of the game, that's really a bad argument

It might be me but the fact that starly, bidoof, geodude/graveler and ponyta are so omnipresent in sinnoh gets boring real fast
>>
>>56858956
USUM are hands down some of the best games in the series. But watching your biggest mon tank a super effective hit late in the game and having its bulk be represented by a quirk in the game's archaic presentation is the literal definition of soul. You wouldn't understand, zoomie
>>
>>56859058
>Powerful post game evos like... Dusknoir? The eeveelution?
yes, the grim reaper and glaceon's ass are too powerful for a normal playthrough

Long story short, this run was planned to be a throwaway to see what emulators are like as opposed to official hardware, I'm saving Chimchar for a proper run and I think Prinplup is one of the uglier midevos so I didn't evolve it.

Short story long, I couldn't find the pokemon I wanted to use in the early game so I just had the one and kept it from evolving for the above reason and so I could get some moves early like Brine. It worked out just fine until I got to Gardenia, who kicked my ass. Hard. Multiple times. I picked up Zubat just to get past and it was still an uphill battle because Zubat's a frail fuck and Gardenia's Roserade is the second coming of Misty's Starmie. After I got two badges I found the pokemon I was looking for (Meditite) in Mt. Coronet, and I picked up Gligar (biased) and Clefairy (has Magic Guard) along the way. As of now I'm trying to figure out my next move teamwise. This isn't a gen where Gliscor has acrobatics or any good flying moves...
>>
>>56858969
Unironically this. I love how limited the regional dex is, the tall grass are filled with the same shitmons and you need to actually play the game to earn the good mons. DP only flaw is the slowness but that can be fixed easily.
>>
>>56859058
I don't think you have played the game, Ponyta isn't very widespread in DP and you can't even find Rapidash in the wild.
>>
>>56858969
I don't agree but I have to respect your stance.
>>
>>56859114
Ah I thought you were trying to get bubblebeam earlier
>>
>>56859129
> I love how limited the regional dex is...
I respect that anon but this:
>you need to actually play the game to earn the good mons

You mean NOT playing the game and instead wait 8 hours for Honey tress, wait (roughly) 12 hours for day/night mons or wait 24 hours for great marsh mons, right?
>>
>>56859137
Ok desu ponyta is kinda a bad example, maybe machop, zubat or bronzor would've been better examples but you get my point: there's little variety early to mid game (post game as a lot of mons thanks to the new areas unlocked and the pokeradar)
>>
>>56859142
platinum lowers the level for that
>>
>>56859160
You are right, DP has the lowest diversity in wild encounters of any mainline Pokemon game. The selection of mons from the olders gens is also pretty bad in the regional dex. Kanto is mostly the trade evos mons and the pests like Tentacool or Zubat, they picked only shitmons from Johto and the Hoenn selection is dex filler trash Water type. But thats not actually a flaw, i was thinking about DP just today and this regional dex is always the first thing that come to my mind. Its mediocrity is memorable. This is what we could call "soul".
>>
>>56859142
Bubblebeam's good but Brine is the real prize. I'd try for Drill Peck too but that's at level 39 for Piplup. I don't think I'm THAT greedy for moves...Maybe.
>>
>>56858954
Doesn’t that emulator support Wi-Fi play? Couldn’t I battle you through it if I move my soulsilver save to my pc?
>>
>>56859143
nta but you can fickle with the clock for everything that isn't berries and honey trees
>>
>>56859260
maybe? idfk I just got MelonDS
>>
>>56858345
>trivality
Lmao big words are hard, huh?
