I mean, have you seen the ridiculous rulesets professional sports have these days? Football heavily restrict how you're allowed to set up your formations, Nascar is a safety pen hollow shell of its former self(understandable given how lethal things can get but still), Chess has a completely made up "castling" rule as well as that nonsense that is the "en passent", Soccer is so bloated with artificial rules that 50% of the game is trying to bait the other team into incurring a penalty, etc.Nuzlocke is stupid and childish but the rulesets for it are fairly solid

So nuzlockes became the better option for the same group of autists, but since time doesn't matter in nuzlockes, they started measuring e-peens by the number of rules they can shove in a single playthrough.
