I tried to watch it for a while, it was just boring and look rushed as fuck in many scenes : if you go for an ugly but easy to draw artstyle, at least don't fuck scenes regularly in every episode. TPC & co. are really looking like some new and incapable small indie company than the people in charge of one of the biggest video game franchise.

it took someone else's project, and a fucking firebombing of another anime company, to convince them that pokemon animation could be more than just ash fucking around filler (that isn't allowed to be in games) locations forever, and it will take way more than that to convince them that an *actually good* anime could exist.

I don't know a thing about the anime EXCEPT the first few episodes of OG and SM before they started advancing the plot.

I got everything I wanted out of SM and the anime as a whole.

>Several side characters got little screentime, or were just not very well written (Lana's entire family, for a big example)

The negatives are far outweighed by how good the series was overall. It may have brought about the lower quality art style that persists now, but it was still a really good series. Honorable mentions go out to the Passimian episode where western racists called the episode racist.
