Which game did you feel the most immersed in? The one you really felt like you were bonding with your team and adventuring the world in pursuit of your goal? Which games did you play just because theyre Pokemon and you play Pokemon games?
>Which game did you feel the most immersed in? The one you really felt like you were bonding with your team and adventuring the world in pursuit of your goal?honestly? Shield, Arceus, Moon, and Y. call me a nugen faggot all you want, but the 3D titles were the first games that I felt a true proper connection to my pokemon with. Arceus and Moon because of the sheer worldbuilding of it all, Shield because of Pokemon Camp, and Y because I was like 9 years old and it was my first game I actually truly played. ..technically, my brothers copy of black 1 would count, too, because I caught a poliwag in there and trained it up like crazy because of that mentality.
>>56903288>call me a nugen faggot all you want but the 3D titles were the first games that I felt a true proper connection to my pokemon with.okay, you're a fa->and Y because I was like 9 years oldaaaand there it is.
>>56903288No one should give you shit for an opinion that’s cringe boyoFor me it’s PLA, sword (I’m a bong) and platinum, mostly platinum because I was a kid and I remember being entranced by eterna forest, celestic town and distortion world made Sinnoh feel aliveAnd PLA just felt very old time Pokemon-y
>>56903288I really wish I hadnt dropped PLA. I bonded with my twam in that game a lot too, but my completionist mindset led me to burning out once I reached Mt. Coronet and I just didnt have it in my to do another 200 entries. I cant regain the connection I felt with them and I certainly dont have jt in me to start over. SM are nugen but I do feel like they lend themselves to connecting with your team and the world very well.
>>56903297Platinum really is an enchanting game. Something very ethereal about how they do many of the routes and areas.
HGSS because of follower mons. You could talk to them and they would have unique reactions to the environment. Fire Types don't like when it rains outside, Water Types like being near the ocean, things like that.Alternatively XY because of the 3D animation and affection feature. It felt like a natural addition to the game, and the animations are very detailed. Pokemon can sleep, eat, laugh, and look at you funny like pets do. On the bottom screen, sometimes your friend's Pokemon would could visit over Wi-Fi. Pokemon is best to me when it has little systems like these outside of battling.
>>56903281Platinum
>>56903300if PLA had multiplayer I'd happily help you out, but sadly it doesn't. it'd make the game perfect if it did, but alas.
>>56903281definitely HGSStaking your pokemon out irl in the pokewalker, all the daily and weekly events, following pokemon and all the unique interactions they have, wild pokemon appearing at different times of the day, pokeathlon, shiny leaf and crown collecting, being able to take photos of your team through your journey and look back through them in the scrap bookthis was peak pokemon for me
>>56903288>and Y because I was like 9 years old and it was my first game I actually truly playedA Pokemon fan was born in a year beginning 19XX, Red/Blue/Green were their first games (Yellow in extenuating circumstances), and they played every game in the series on release. If you do not fit this criteria, your opinion on the franchise as a whole is worthless.>My first games were GSC but I got RBY laterSorry, doesn't count>My older sibling had RBY but I got GSC for myselfdoesn't count>The games weren't available in my country until later generationsdoesn't count, sorry third-worlder>I watched the anime but I didn't get into the games until laterDoes. Not. CountIf you started playing in the GBA/DS era then you at least had the privilege of seeing the tail end of the golden era, but if you started with 3DS or heaven forbid the Switch then you are a pathetic unfortunate wretch and shouldn't be listened to.
>>56903281Platinum immersed me the mostY felt like Pokemon for the sake of PokemonMoon and Ultra Sun were immersive, I guess, but the story jerked me around so much I barely had time to think about my team. and refresh didn't help.
>>56903439funnily enough I've played every generation to completionmy first game was yellow, my first original game was emerald, the first game I played to completion was Y with the rest of the older games following suit. I grew up with the consoles you did, alongside the games you've played, because I always had an interest in the technology and things from your past, but now I'm the age you were when I was interested in things from your era, and man, you fucking suck as a person. I may be pathetic, sure. my opinion might be discarded, but it's not because I didn't get to experience YOUR childhood exclusively. it's because I'm an agender weirdo with an attachment to a fictional character,. however, the sands of time will not stop for you, gatekeeper. and your nonexistence will appear before mine. enjoy your next 20 years living with a false dichotomy. I shall enjoy mine being a pied piper to enjoying every generation and every game in the franchise, while noticing their praises and their flaws. gatekeeping is for mentally decrepit subhumans. and brother, you're looking like you were made in a fucking lab with gecko DNA. (of course, that's an insult to geckos, though.)
>>56903281Diamond because it was my firstI loved my Torterra so muchTo this day no starter has ever made me feel as powerful for owning it as TorterraYeah I have a fucking continent on my teamKino as fuck
>>56903487>agender Afuera.
>>56903495oh I do go outside a fair amountdoesn't mean I'm not fucking weird though. I'm autistic, it comes with the package deal.
>>56903521>autistic >believes in made up twitter bullshit over natural lawYeah, no. Autists hate lgbt faggot shit
sorry for derailing your thread btw, OP. I really didn't mean to.
>>56903388honestly, HGSS really have that great feeling to them. even if simple, they were really nice and comfy with the pokemon following you.>>56903428dude the pokewalker is amazing. I still use mine a tonne and I've managed to level a pokemon to like level 40 just from walking with it.
>>56903281Gen 1 is definitely where I feel most immersed, if only because the primitive graphics kinda force your imagination into one gear setting further than subsequent gens. But I will also give shoutouts to some gen 3 & 4 routes for getting me into an adventuring mood, the small screen space makes places like Hoenn route 119 and the sea routes feel pretty big, and the climb to the top of Mt. Coronet in Sinnoh with narrow snow-laden paths and Rock Climb cliffs coupled with the music starting subtle from the moment you step out of the cave into the light and building up as you find your footing is peak area aesthetics for Pokemon.
>>56903281Generations 1-6 (excluding ORAS) for me, with some variation. A wide range of games I know, but it's the truth. >Y because I was like 9 years old and it was my first game I actually truly played.Christ, I was in college when XY dropped
>>56904418time sadly does not wait, even for the young'ins.
