The basilisk has to be cut really early huh. Kinda funny that the flying eevee thing just glossed over anything else existing when originally posted.
Notably our two other mimikyus are mentioned here, albeit in a "please make" way.

Only way is if an artist can make something incredibly different from the massive amount of fake eevees, so probably not but I think ghost has the best chance.
>>
>>56916450
Its literally just what the trailer said and isn't at all a new promotion.

>>56916555
I'm reminded that GF considered Sylveon "flying looking enough" so I think its luck of the draw. Ghost actually probably has the widest sweeping range for fan designs so I don't it is.
Honestly what weirds me out about the flying Eevee thing is like; why not just redesign to avoid the design trends? I think people have a somewhat off takeaway from the fact that based on what we know; flying Eevee was not actually pushed very far into development.
Which to me feels like GF didn't really care that much.

Actually wait, is "Tagomi" even Nishida? What was the raw name here.
>>
>>56916580
Like half the fucking comment is literally "we could do this but you know, I don't think we need to" I think people are way way too caught up in the ultimately more minor idea that it overlaps with a fan design and thus needs a rework.
But so much of the comment is about whether or not they even want to shit out another eevee right after.
>>
>>56916580
>Its literally just what the trailer said and isn't at all a new promotion.
LMAO so the guy is just trying hard to be relevant, got it
>>
>>56916602
NTA but I think their strat of gatekeeping the other eeveelutions is dumb when its already been 3 gens with none now, no matter the real reasonning behind it
>>
>>56911860
all that stuff is actually fan made.
>>
>>56916644
Technically speaking Eevee has only had one gen where it hasn't gotten something so its not really gatekeeping so much as a terrible choice in what to do with it. We've had partner eevee, we had eevees z move, we have giga eevee.
SM is the only one we have proof of them thinking about it and that was right after Sylveon.

I don't think it was done with much intent but you can't really be sure without documents for SS or SV. I do think we should be getting to that point of another eeveelution though yeah.
>>
>>56916691
Thing is, these "forms" are not really a new evo, just pointless one off filler. And if SV had added a new eeveelution, then I'm sure most people wouldn't be as "upset" that we didn't get the flying eevee since they finally gave something so it's bound to happen. Even if you don't care about Eevee, it's frustrating to see that Pokémon not being finalized and have all its evos.
>>
>>56916968
I did say it wasn't a good use persay, but it was distinctly content for the line. In the case of GF I don't think giga is quantified as anything other than a true addition to the line. The Z move was probably considered filler but the over the top nature of it probably reflects the choice to not have the flying evo.
Generally Eevees have had one generation as a gap, If you count giga then its been a pretty average Eevee addition gap of one generation.

I have a strange problem.

I found some Korean localization files that I'm interested in, such as:

GFDocs\ポケモン監修用資料\ローカライズ関連\参考資料\ローカライズまとめ\アニメローカライズ\韓国\韓国ローカライズ資料\韓国赤緑\韓国語決定ネーミング.xls

The thing is - that the Korean names in this file (and many other files) show some nonsensical Kanji characters instead of Hangul.

Is there a way to decode what they're actually supposed to be?
The names are romanized (unsystematically) and even transcribed into Katakana but those transcriptions aren't precise.

I know it's some shit that nobody cares about but maybe somebody can help?
>>
>>56918349
GFDocs\ポケモン監修用資料\ローカライズ関連\参考資料\ローカライズまとめ\アニメローカライズ\韓国\韓国ローカライズ資料\韓国赤緑\キャラ名04_13.xls
is also very interesting because it lists Korean beta names for Gen I Pokemon. And it has the very same problem.
>>
>>56918349
Genuine retard at Korean here - are you sure the characters aren't Hanja - Chinese characters meant to write out Korean?
If not, I think the two other columns that follow the confusingly written one - romanized (Latin alphabet), followed by Japanese katakana(?) - are your best (if the only) bet for getting the names as they are intended to be written. You'll have to transcribe them by hand, though.

E.g.: Obaksa - 옵앇아, or Jubat - 줍앋

>>

>but the soul of the franchise clearly existed
*Loud incorrect buzzer*
>>
>>56919040
No, they aren't. I checked that possibility too (even though it didn't make sense at all), the characters are completely nonsensical.
For example 오박사 (Obaksa i.e. Oak) appears in the document as 神酵紫, which if read as Hanja would give "Sinhyoja" (신효자).

It's definitely an encoding error (probably because those files come from the time when Unicode still wasn't widespread and they used JIS and other regional encoding systems) but it's consistent among different files - to the point that in some combined list those fuckin' brainlets even copied those messed up versions (so, some documents have proper Hangul mixed with that nonsensical Hanja).

>>
>>56919773
The Bulbapedo who created this article is a retard.
>>
>>56920689

Oh fuck...
Best guess is one (or a group) of the people working on that at the time mishandled the files by not having whatever same standard for Korean characters was used by others, corrupting the names.
>>
>>56920926
Okay, is it possible to fix this or is it lossy?
>>
>>56920926
>>56920945
And unfortunately, same goes for many Chinese (Taiwanese and Hong Kong) translation lists (yeah, the characters are largely the same between Trad Chinese and Japanese but encoding standards are different. We're talking about pre-Unicode times [well, Unicode did exist already but it wasn't yet widespread, especially in Asia]). They are romanized with pinyin (toneless) but the Hanzi don't correspond to that pinyin at all.

And here the task is even harder because in Korean you can at least get a grasp of how the thing is spelled from phonetics. In Chinese, it's just impossible - there are countless possible characters for one syllable.

So, if it's irreversible, then the Chinese materials are pretty much worthless.

I tried some tools but didn't get any results. I'm no expert, though.
>>
>>56920993
Not an expert here, either.
I tried the most obvious ones for Korean (Hanja/Hangul conversion, switching character encoding in Notepad++, copied correct Hangul from another file to the sheet and cloning the format (since it seemed to include a font that isn't in my system), to no avail.
Comparing the extracted workbooks between one with proper Hangul (right-click the .xlsx file, then 7-zip -> open as archive, copy the Workbook file from inside somewhere, open in Notepad++ or other text editor that wouldn't fuck the file up, since to my understanding it's raw text + formatting instructions), it seems to me at a glance that the text is treated differently (therefore the corrupted characters seem lossy).

Again, I'm no expert, there's a small chance that someone, who knows their stuff could do something with it still, compared to the retard writing this post you're reading right now.
There was an Anon, who did recover a corrupted Powerpoint presentation some threads back. Perhaps someone with more know-how might be able to fix this.

Any evidence that Mina and Ilima were switched types? Everyone always leaned on Ilima being the Fairy captain and Mina the Normal captain. Smeargle being Ilima's main mon and Ribombee being Mina's main mon never made sense.

Mina is a dimwitted airhead. An art prodigy that travels the seas with her parents she has been called "Fairy of the Art World.

The text above the Z crystal calls it a "Power Bead" which several companies have a copyright on the term from the 2000s

It's a lawyer covering their ass. It might be fine to share internally before publishing, but the last thing they need is to be sued by some alternative medicine company that sells power bead bracelets looking to make a quick buck off a large children's franchise.

Same as how while the "fun fact" that they had songs like Lady Gaga's Born This Way and Prodigy's Firestarter as placeholders in Gen V development, you really don't want music company lawyers finding out about it.
>>
Anyone know if this was ever used? I don't remember it. It says it's a captain symbol.

>>56922097
I have my doubts but I also don't know anything about working at creative companies. In this case, the removed text just talks about the possibility of making limited edition crystals different from the normal shape.

Thanks for the explanation about that one, though I referred more to the note beside the Pikachu crystal sketch. My complaint is also related to that one Incineroar reference sheet shared some threads ago where one of the sketches was removed from the artbook.

Maybe because the way to find out was through TCG Ecards, and you probably needed a certain amount of cards to form a scenario or get a reward in the Gameboy reader, I'm just theorizing.

Personally, I like to think of PokeSouth-America as an almost virgin place, only having small populations on the coasts.

The eReader card content was basically just self contained mini games, and DLC trainer battles and bonus items for gen 3 games. The only way to see the region was on the official Japanese websites and various magazine ads. Nothing about the Mysterious Continent or any real backstory ever left Japan. I don't know if it's ever confirmed anywhere, but I like to think that the e-reader mini games all take place in this region.

So far every bit of clothing you've posted IS in the game, you just didn't play the girl so no hair ribbons and your professor Oak shirt is black with pink print instead of pink with black print.

https://www.serebii.net/sunmoon/customisation.shtml#female

The only robbery here is Game Freak being too scared to let either player model equip every clothing model/texture option so everyone can have more options and the insecure "men" who can't handle having a female character because "what if someone thinks I'm gay" can stop bitching and come play digital dress-up with everyone else who figured out back in 2013 that the girl model gets a lot more options.

>>56922698
On its own, only through the artwork on the cards could one be able to form the scenarios provided in those sets. The dot code strips only provided self-contained mini-games, extra attacks for the TCG, and Pokédex entries. As >>56922756 said, all that stuff about a Mysterious Continent was Japanese-exclusive. The package artwork for Aquapolis and Skyridge had no environments, nothing on the official English website(s) mentioned the continent, and there was little advertisement of the sets, not even an English version of the TV commercials which showed the map.

You're importing/converting these wrong, you're not getting them in their true resolution. Also, if you import a PDF into a program like Photoshop and and it comes in several split images, that's not glitchy behavior, the PDF just comes like that and you have to stitch the images together or figure out what PPI the document is at and import it that way.

I use Photoshop to import and convert the PDFs. It's also the best tool for converting these images from the CMYK color space to the RGB color space. If the PDF is just a container for a single image file, Photoshop will open it at native resolution like any other image file. If the PDF is more complex, you can choose to import the PDF as pages or import as images. Import as images always gives you the true images contained in the PDF, but the images may be split parts of a whole, and if the PDF has specialty data like vector fonts or PDF transparency, importing as images won't include said things. Importing as pages is sometimes necessary as a result, and you can get it to match the native resolution of the image files if the PPI (pixels per inch) and resulting pixel amount matches the true image resolution. Unfortunately, aside from some XY and ORAS PDFs, there's no real unified PPI standard when it comes to the PDF files in the archive, and importing as pages may also result in other issues due to the number of options there. That resolution you're getting (1755/1754x1240) is the resolution you get when importing these PDFs as pages at 150 PPI, which is not the correct number for most PDFs in the archive.
>>
>>56924334
>He said he's leaking some last stuff in the 18th
No, from the screenshots I saw in the last threads he said he's done for now. It seems like he isn't going to leak anything more until at least 2026 since the last thing he said was something like
>have a nice 2025

>>

Same reason GF got so easily hacked : people are arrogant, incompetent and stupid for the most part. Something that has been worse in recent years because the access to information created laziness and contempt, believing that knowing info and having access to it = high intelligence. Flawed individuals will make dumb mistakes while actively thinking these are not mistakes, and once facing the consequences, they crumble while still unable to see their shortcomings.

Burner google accounts are hard to come by these days, they require phone verification and pretty much all the usual free/cheap options like skype and prepaid phones are blocked. Ran into this issue trying to create an extra account to keep business and personal life separate a few months ago. Someone might have to take one for the team if we're ever going to see the file, assuming whatever the link goes to hasn't been scrubbed or that it won't block you for not being on a whitelist.

Wow....if that's true then....that would've sucked so much. Maybe it became Palafin later
>>
>>56928775
Exactly, I'm pretty sure Wimpod and Golisopod were supposed to be te same pokemon (in the top right image you can see the arrows rotating like it's a cycle) then that idea was scrapped for wishiwashi and then similarly reused for finizen and palafin
>>
freakleak is preparing to make their server public at any moment. Everyone in there should prepare to have their Discord accounts limited for a year after Nintendo has Discord take it down.
>>
>>56928850
The fact that Wishiwashi has a distinctly different codenaming scheme makes it kinda iffy. The fact the codename is "giant isopod" is kinda weird in the same sense as that diagram though

>>56928877
Discord accounts aren't particularly valuable to worthwhile people anyway.

I figure it out. You can fix it by saving the garbled text in a EUC-JP encoded text file and converting it to EUC-KR.
Sometimes the text was in the wrong column which I tried to fix too, but if you encounter a nonsensical 닥, it actually stands for 韓, while 귐 is 英

You're awesome! Thanks for the instructions, that can also help with fixing corrupted text in other places!
Just realized that EUC-JP encoding isn't in Notepad++ when I tried to do anything about it.
This seems to be a Windows issue (by which I mean there seems to be a lack of support for this encoding in particular, aside from browsers like Firefox and Chrome)?

Fortunately I found an online app for converting the encoding, athough it works line by line...
Paste the line to the 'Unicode characters to encode' field, click encode, copy the generated line from where it says it's encoded as 'EUC-JP', paste to the 'Bytes to decode' field, click the button, and the result will be under EUC-KR part.

Example:
- get the corrupted part, in my case it's '松粧匂追佼',
- paste to the 'Unicode characters to encode' field, press the 'Convert' button right under it
- get characters from the 'euc-jp' field (in this example it'll be 'BE BE BE D1 C6 F7 C4 C9 B8 F3'),
- paste to the 'Bytes to decode' field
- look up the result in the 'euc-kr' field (it'll be '씨앗포케몬' per the line I chose for the example)

I wonder if those instructions (from >>56929060 , I mean) could also be applied to similar issue, per the >>56920993 post (but with appropriate encoding for the target language)...

I'm sure you can find some autismoid who'll argue this isn't a confirmation, but they are not shown on Mega Heracross's design sheet, while they are shown on standard form Heracross's sheet. I don't believe the text explicitly mention that the wings are gone now.
>>
>>56930275
Me too, but we just don't have the info or the technical skills to acquire that info. Hell, even if we cracked a random employee's account there's always the possibility that the specific individual doesn't have access. The fact that they set whitelist permissions at all greatly increases the odds that for once their laziness works in their favor - it would take more time to whitelist the whole company's accounts on google drive than it would to only add people who need access to those files so it's more likely only a handful of accounts were given access, vs their internal servers where it's easy to assume that anyone with a valid login is supposed to have access so they just don't bother with a whitelist at all.
>>
>>56930230
The only method I know of that still works would get you caught immediately.
