Ingame trainers usually have more than 1 of the same species of pokemon in their team. Have you ever had more than 1 of the same pokemon in your party? I haven't.
zigzagoon/lillipup pickup armies
>>56934562There's nothing stopping you
>>56934562I've... never thought about it. And it's usually more than one of the same Not Fully Evolved Pokemon too. Thanks for the suggestion anon. I want to try it for my next replay of Gens 1-4, but I'm afraid my OCD about type coverage will stop me. I haven't done a monotype or NFE run before either. That said, what Pokemon are good to have multiple copies of? Dragonair/Kadabra since they can learn each of the elemental beams/punches? Or just go with my favorites and struggle with the rest of the game because they're not that good?
>>56934562I used 3 diglett's and magnemite's thinking they'd evolve that way upon certain levels but then they evolved individually kek
In Diamond as a kid I did an all Starly run for some reasom.
>>56934700kid you was a lore-accurate trainer
two typhlosions is the meta for pokemmo
>>56934700based
literally only when playing emerald rogue, and even then i avoid it whenever possible.
Multiple Eevees in White2 until they evolved.
>>56935208cringe, eevee teams are basic bitch as fuck
>>56934562This is just one of those things where you have to remember how different you are compared to the NPCs. You are playing a video game as the main character. But for the NPCs, that's real-life for them and most are just regular people with regular lives.
>>56934576ThisAnd in some weird ruleset playthrough I had two Staraptors and two Skarmorys. I think it was like "you can only use Normal type moves" or something
>>56934562Yes my team is six chimechos
fodder for safe switches in early gyms. usually by gym 4 or 5 i have my full team though
>>56935221>implying eevee normies have the patience to have 6 on their team
>>56935687>implying eevee normalfags play the games
>>56934562I have. I beat Red with 6 Dragonites. I'm using every Pokémon I have in XD and I caught 3 Sandshrew
>>56935254This is exactly my reasoning as well. When it comes to my team, I'm not just some trainer, I'm a kid trying to be the best, the closest NPC class would be ace trainers who use a variety of powerful mons, so that's how it makes sense to build my team. But for most other NPC classes, their teams are more just gonna be made up of a few fitting companion mons, even repeats.
I always had 2 gyarados as a kid
