DQM2:Girl (Tara?) Version
paired with
DQM2:Boy (Cobi?) Version
the DQM games peaked here. I'm surprised there are people that don't know about them.
Then again, they are pretty old.

Is DQM1 worth playing first or is it fine to jump right into DQM2? And should I finish DQ3 first? I got bored after unlocking the second world.
>>
>>56935501
were talking about things that actually exist.
>>
>>56935554
DQ3? Is that Joker 3, Caravan, or the third english game which would have been... DQJ1?
I personally never played the first one, it's fine to just jump into 2.

Oh. My bad. I mean, it depends how far you are in it? Also, cheers on picking the absolute best way to play that game, even if I have a soft spot for the GBC version.
DQM2 is pretty long, if we're comparing it to a pokemon game (it also has a lot of side-content) so I personally wouldn't tackle two long jrpgs at the same time. I don't have it in me anymore.
I'd stick with one until the end, and then play the other. Unless you can manage multiple jrpgs.
They're both good.

it does exist
look it up

Right after you kill the "final boss" and go back to castle to celebrate and the real final boss shows up to zap everyone so you have to go to a new world/map. I explored the new world a bit before I decided I had enough and stopped playing because I just wasn't having fun.
I still have the save file, but the last time I touched it was when Let's Go Pikachu Eevee just came out so I've already forgotten how everything works. Oh well.
Thanks for your recommendations and advice though. I'll keep them in mind if I'm ever in the mood to chew through a long JRPG again.

I just did and guess what? It doesn't exist. Literally just a spite artist's twitter account.

DWM2 is better in every way. More monsters, more Skills, a new story that isn't just a bunch of memberberries of past titles, a more expansive key system, better graphics, and more of a postgame than a series of bossfights (though that's still present). Which version you play also matters, affecting both what wild monsters are available in story worlds, and one specific story event.

In Tara's Adventure, the wild monsters are mostly those with defensive or support Skills. In Cobi's Journey, the wild monsters are mainly those with offensive Skills. The story event, difference, without spoiling much, is that you end up in a dungeon. With Tara, she's able to crawl through a hole in the wall to escape; with Cobi, he's too big to fit through, so your escape takes a different route.

His last post was almost 2 years ago. It's dead.

good. I hate his art.
there's a reason why they didn't build a jrpg around Where's Waldo illustrations.
I'll take practical, readable maps over pixel-vomit.

The labels are completely backwards. Limitations breed creativity. Ignoring what was possible on the hardware you're attempting to reference is not only extremely disrespectful, and misrepresentative, but reeks of arrogance. I can look at the left, and immediately - and correctly - assume that there is no game, here, it's just a load of pretty pixels meant to distract me.

I like both.
