you deserved it

Kanto pandering ends here.
Paldea pandering starts now.
>>
It sold well BECAUSE of kanto pandering
>>
>>56941060
compared to gens 6-8 it is a pretty reduced amount
>>
>>56941060
Are the most popular Pokemon in Paldea also Chadrizard, Machad, and Gengar?
>>
>>56941060

these figures never take into account that the switch is also the highest selling console that Pokemon has been on. the switch games have high total sales, but the attach rate is basically the same, or even lower than previous games.
>>
>>56941060
it had more unova/johto/sinnoh pandering rather than KANTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pandering

hi yawnfag
>>
Currently replaying Scarlet (I beat Violet a year ago) and fucking christ they didn't fix a damn thing about the performance and technical issues. This is embarrassing.
>>
>>56941036
none of those sales were deserved. SV is one of the laziest games in the series and it doesn't most if any flaws from previous switch games

It's literally the most soulful game we've gotten since gen 5. Cope.
>>
>>56941097
Factually incorrect, DS sold 154m units, but Pokémon's two new Gen pairs on DS could only sell 17.67m and 15.64m respectively for an average of 16.65m. Switch sold 8m less units than DS, but Pokémon sold 26.44m and 25.69m respectively, for an average of 26.065m per new Gen pair on the system. The reason for this is casual gamer adults bought the Switch, leading to more than JUST the average playerbase of Pokémon buying into the games as opposed to the DS days, when mummy and granny were buying it for brain training and virtuadoggies.
You. Lost.

>Artistic intent
The only artist intent game freak has is incompetence, and CHARIZARD shilling
>>
>>56941060
anon the dlc take place in unova. That's the complete opposite of kanto pandering. Hell, im pretty sure it actively reppeled gbfags from buying the dlc.
>>
>>56942134
The DLC takes place off-shore on a floating island anon. It's situated off the Unovan coast *in lore* but aside from schoolkids attending (of which there's some from PokéJapan enrolled, proving it's not a DEDICATED school for only Unova peoples) who reveal their parentage being noptables from Unovan society, there's noting actually situating it IN Unova. Even the games treat it as part of Paldea, given Cyrano and Briar both brought the Terastral phenomenon to the schoolyard biome and assigning any and all pokémon caught within a Paldea Origin mark, instead of coding it to the Unova Game of Origin code.
>>
>>56942128
this only applies for gen 6+

>this kusoge is the most successful pokemon game in its home market
further proving pokefags are worthless brandniggers with shit taste, I respect precisely none of you and your opinions are retardbabble
>>
>>56942223
idk, i only know the "Driftveil Drawbridge"
>>
>>56942218
So, just what was gonna happen regardless?
I mean, they didn't even try and make any the last 4 generations for you, yet they still sold gangbusters, still exposed kids to the virus and all saw you sit crying about the fact the devs didn't give a fuck for you and suddenly you thought there WAS a chance they'd break the habit of a lifetime and give a shit for old cunts, much less give a shit about old cunts above and beyond kids and the fucking casuals?
>>
>>56942240
The last 4 had references to every region but now they're gonna focus on Unova just to satisfy consoomers and Twitter
>>
>>56942230
>utterly misses the irony
You're an adult on a containment board dedicated to a kid's game dude. (You)'re just as guilty of being a worthless brandnigger, considering this isn't /v/ or r/games or some other overarching video game discussion board that happened to spit out a Pokémon topic among the PC, Playstation, other Nintendo stuff and Xbox topics yet you need to be here in this particular moment to keep your kiddy toy close. Like any self-respecting worthless brandnigger.
>>
When's the dlc going on sale?
I'm not paying $35 for that shit
>>
>>56941060
What kanto pandering?
>>
>>56942259
No, they're not you dumb little cunt. They referenced it, because it's now 14 years since it was last in the focus of the series and unlike Sinnoh in Gen 8 or Kalos in this Gen, which got or are getting games to renew their eras in people's minds, it's still 3 years until the Gen 5 remakes are due (first Gen on new hardware, as always) so too soon to make a game in the region, but too far away to NOT reference it (remember, Hoenn, Kanto, Sinnoh, Alola, Galar, Paldea and Kalos will all have appeared on-system in the last 11 years). Johto's next for dickriding, not that /vp/'s gonna like that, because it's been a hot minute since they talked about it in-game.
>>
>>56942264
Probably won't, or it'll be late next year or '26, when they have absolutely every little drop of full-price DLC sales and are about ready to bin Gen 9 for Gen 10.
>>
>>56942204
Jacq: "It's a school in the Unova region, you know."
>>
>>56942335
Let me guess, y9ou dropped the DLC there? Or are you scraping Bulbapedia? Because the pan-in to the school shows it in blue ocean, with no hint of land anywhere. It's off the coast in Unovan territorial waters. It's not on the landmass, there's nowhere large enough to sink a school in Unova (unlike in the ocean, you're limited by how deep you can dig and extend and how costly doing so is, building an underwater biome, you're limited by how deep the ocean is at your planned site, and there's a BIG fuck-off globe holding that biome underneath the school).
Play the fucking games, actually use that lump of fat in your head you've the gall to call your brain. Because if they'd wanted to put it on mainland Unova, they would have done so, not stuck it in the ocean, because it was 4 years until it gets remade.
>>
>>56942451
did you played the games? are you stupid? have you seen the ocean of unova? do you know how region in real life and in games work? will you say sevii islands are not part of Kanto? are you retarded?
>>
>>56942596
Yep, hence why I said it's in Unovan territorial waters but not near the coast (mainly because the seabed rises to meet the beach front and become a landmass, meaning less room for them to float the big fuck-off biome dome).
Like I said, play the games but payt attention this time. All there in the fucking manual.
>>
>>56941036
>comparing the sales of a 30 year old game to something released today without accounting for population or the amount of people into videogames
I don't understand why brainlets keep using this as a metric of good
>>
>>56942701
because no other game before it reached a similar result
>>
>>56942701
It's not being used as a metric of quality, it's kist showing that Red and Green have FINALLY been dethroned in Japan after having held the title of "best seller Pokemon game in Japan" since they first released.
Which isn't actually a surprise, the Switch has one of the largest install bases of all time, and the drought year has incentivized on-the-fence nips to just cave in and buy SV to tide things over since they've grown bored of SWSH.
>>
>>56941036
So this means no more KANTOOOOOOOO, right
>>
>>56942791
No, there's still gonna be KANTOOOOOOO, it just means there's gonna be a whole lot of PALDEAAAAAAAAAA to join it starting from 2032 onward.
>>
>>56942791
paldea (like every gen except 3 and 5) is a KANTOOOOO spinoff so there's gonna be even more KANTOOOOOOO
>>
>>56942809
>t. tranny
>>
>>56942809
Nope, Gen 3 was a soft-reboot full of Kantomons and Gen 5 was a soft-reboot full of Kantomon expies to remind you of Kanto and make you yearn for Kanto instead of dealing with its retarded American cousins.
>>
>>56942809
Paldea didn't even have any perceivable Kanto pandering past the Convergent mons both being based on Gen 1 mons (and even then the immediate next one was a Gen 8 mon).
