Its BST of 567 (which is also its Nat Dex number), is a refence to feathered dinosaur in the Dewey Decimal system But Game Freak has a soft limit on how high a non-legendary Pokemon's stats can be without getting nerfed. Hence why Slaking is allowed to have such high stats, it has to lug around Truant. So in their eyes Archeops did need some sort of nerf Did they go way to far with Acheops? Could they have just had Defeatist nerf Attack so it could at hit decently hard with special moves below 50%? Does it even need a nerfing ability anymore considering 567 isn't even that high nowadays, especially with now minmax new Pokemon are? YES, but Game Freak being incompetent is nothing new
