Why did she never caught on with the fanbase like the red gyarados did?
>>
>itoddler
>>
It's not presented hugely front and center in the story.
In PLA, it's just part of a sidequest to remind you that they exist.
Red Gyarados in Gen 2 is a more mandatory event with the circumstances playing into its nature plus the tie-in to the news that were displayed at the beginning of DPPT.

Because gifted shiny pokémon haven’t been a novelty anymore since BW2

iphone does img_9999 now
>>
>>56942034
Red Gyarados was the very first shiny most people ever got.
As for Ponyta, it's probably the second most famous shiny. I hate to admit it but I actually basedjakked when I saw it in PLA, couldn't believe the cheeky bastards referenced THERE IT IS

THERE IT IS
>>
>>56942034
Gyarados was people's introduction to shinies and had an actual role in the story of GSC, this is just a fun thing you can get

What are the chances the devs had seen that video and made the free shiny a ponyta because of it?
>>

THERE IT IS THERE IT IS THERE IT IS I FOUND ITTT!! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
>>
>>56942034
Because Gyarados is actually a good Pokemon (atleast in gen 2) unlike Rapidash who get outclassed by other fire types in the games it is in
>>
>>56942258
Anon they literally reference there it is
>>
>>56942360
wouldn't the shiny be a Buneary if they did?
>>
>>56942347
ah yes, just like how rapidash in dp get out claus by…
>>
>>56942258
There is no way it's not a reference. It's the most famous video on shiny pokemon.

I just watched the quest on Youtube and don't see any quotes from the original video.
>>
>>56942408
No it'd be a fucking Ponyta like in the original video being referenced
>>
Simple.

Red Gyrados was introduced at the same time as shinies, and when shiny rates stayed low, so there was a good chance this was the only shiny you'd get.

By the era of PLA, shinies were a lot easier to get, and within PLA itself, the ease was increased manyfold from there. That and the fact that Shiny Ponyta had existed for 7 generations at that point.

Mentally deficients will claim this is "effort" to be "proud" of when I can be a CheatChad and perfectly pkhex a shiny so well neither the wrong PID can be detected or an illogical level catch.

I can't comprehend the level of autism required to be a full odds shiny hunter. I understand liking a Pokemon's shiny colors and wanting one, but I don't know why someone wouldn't RNG manip or hack or use the various easy methods that exist from Gen 4 onwards.

It's more satisfying. An incel like (You) unironically wouldn't understand.
>>
>>56943595
Brown hands typed this.
Chad and cheats don't go in the same sentence.
They can see the data, You can't emulate anything perfect they choose not do anything.
>Mentally deficients will claim this is "effort" to be "proud"
At least you got this part right
>>
>>56943691
Or even worse
>"I'm a full-odds shiny hunter!"
>Uses 8 GBA's at the same time
>>
>>56943595
You're not wrong, but you're never going to create a work of art like the live shiny ponyta video by just hacking your shinies into the game.
>>
>>56942034
Wait, what? When did they give away a free shiny Ponyta? What game was this in? I don't remember hearing about it.
I also have no idea what 'There it is' is - some kind of meme?

only newfags that actively hate pokemon bothered playing pla tho
>>
>>56947291
Not new - my first game was version Blue, likely back before you were born. I never played PLA, and I don't watch YouTubers/VTubers/whatever the hell you perpetually online kids watch to rot your brains these days, so I had no idea this was a thing or what it was supposedly referencing.
>>56947288
>>56947297
Thank you. It doesn't help since I don't own the game (and I already have a few shiny Ponyta), but at least now I know.

Embarrassing cope newfag tourist.
>>
>>56943595
I'd rather do RNG manipulation because at least I'm still playing the game instead of inserting whatever I want. Running around looking for "full odds shinies" is autistic as fuck, it's a massive waste of time, it's not accomplishing anything through skill.

Full odds hunting = Smashing your face over and over against a piece of concrete until it happens to break
Hacking in = Breaking concrete with a hammer
RNG manipulation = Studying the concrete with tools to find all its weak points and imperfections, and then crushing it with a single precise blow
>>
>>56947523
If you want to accomplish something through skill maybe try something else than a kids monster collecting game
>>
>>56947538
Okay, maybe skill wasn't the right word. It's not achieving something through the systems set in place by the game. I think that simply bypassing all the rules takes away from the game. Figuring out how to abuse the systems in the games through its own rules is satisfying, maybe even more satisfying than glitches.

Because Ponyta and Rapidash are, quite frankly, boring.
