>>56944226While a lot of these examples are pretty disingenuous like Seismitoad or Darmanitan (and also Florges but that thing sucks lol), and ignoring all the cartoon animals in gen 1 and ambiguous monsters in later gens, I do agree that the gen 1 philosophy of "unique looking monsters with simple colors and designs" is something sorely missing from current Pokemon. Not all (or a lot of) gen 1 designs are my favorite but they have a charm to them that just seems missing. Jigglypuff could never be made today but Scream Tail was.
