they sold pla in between two games, with the first one coming out two months before pla, and the third one getting a reveal less than a month after pla came out
PLA released in the worst possible sales period and almost sold as much as BDSP which came out in the best possible sales period. It sounds to me like BDSP was the flop if it could barely sell as well as a game with every disadvantage possible and functionally sold a marginal amount of copies in the best sales period of the year. Personally I hate both of the games for very different reasons, but you can't deny how well PLA did in the shitty circumstances.
