The entirety of pre-gen 7 pokemon is nothing but glorified speedbumps. Even the vast majority of named trainers don't battle like they're remotely serious. Fucking late game gym leaders and every E4 member but the champ don't use more than 5 pokemon. I expect more from a romhack, though I know little about clover and one screenshot isn't necessarily representative.
