I finally fought an Omastar deck. Omastar seems decently strong, especially against decks that try to build up one strong pokemon like Dragons/mewtwo/Charizard. If I ever get a second one, I'd run it but I'm not sure what to support it with, the guy I was fighting used bruxish.

>>56953924I'm not one of the people complaining, but I think there's plenty to do if you have all the cards. The issue is that you don't have all the cards unless you whaled, and you probably only have a couple actual decks that even can be played in a format where Pika and Mewtwo are rampant.

>>56953940I don’t know what kind of “rampant” you guys are always talking about. I play 10+ games in the event queue per day with a 70-80% winrate using stuff like venu/eggs, Koga, and Blaine, and see pika and mewtwo a combined total of 10% of games at the very MOST. Your tier 0 boogeyman is all in your heads>muh tournamentsTournament meta percentages only apply to tournaments and not the in-game ladder. Even so neither Pikachu nor mewtwo are unbeatable. The gap between those and the absolute bottom of the barrel isn’t as wide as you might think

>>56953964>event queuedrop in to TCG player queue, you'll start seeing more meta decks. I haven't run into that much pika but out of the 5-10 games I play every day, I ALWAYS see at least one mewtwo deck.
>>56953931Personally I'm running golduck for early game pressure. Omastar is basically a hard counter to build up decks like charizard and mewtwo, but only if they don't get the opportunity to build another one to swap in and one shot you. You can't be passive while you wait to set up Omastar, you want to pressure them early until they're forced to bring in their wincon to stop you, and then answer that wincon with Omastar.
>>56953964>I don’t know what kind of “rampant” you guys are always talking about.>Your tier 0 boogeyman is all in your heads>Tournament meta strawmanUhh... most of the decks I play against are Pikachu and Mewtwo.

>>56954004>But the reward for doing 3 daily missions is 3 hourglasses, not 4.False. I know it says "3" in the little picture with the progression bar, but when you claim it, you get 4. The same thing happens in the new account Advanced mission where you get 120 hourglasses. It says only "9" or something. That's a progress bar that indicates how many missions you must complete, not what the reward is.

That is assuming you are not crafting or wonder picking, which should cut down that time to around 4 months. This is all assuming you are only opening Charizard/Mewtwo/Pikachu packs, as new sets/mini-sets would make it take longer.

There's not much reason to grind PVP without the added incentive of event missions, but lots of people have already gotten all the necessary wins for those. >>56954140>ANY card from the original 150 pokémon is obtained. This needs a source about with someone unlocking mew with promo cards, because the mission is part of Genetic Apex themed collections and has no reason to include non-set cards.
>>56954320>thanks for the showcases everydayThis isn't returning the shopping cart. This is walking around the lot putting away other people's carts. Cuckoldry.
Mewtwo Fossil fag here. After playing lots with Pika, I am. Convinced Pikachu is just not great. Even against matchups like zard that supposedly are bad for Mewtwo, I just win more with Mewtwo than Pika. Only the Dark matchup feels significantly improved. Pikachu is sort of a Jack of all trades (matchups) but a master of none. I keep waffling back and forth between Raichu and Zebra. Raichu feels a lot more powerful but way less consistent. At this point I think I'll just be back to playing exclusively? Mewtwo until the next set.
>>56954280Opening 200 packs only gives you a 40% chance to get a specific 2-star card.
>>56954320>if we get a group of 6 dedicated anons or whateverYour issue might be that you're friending anons. I do recommend playing Pokedexes in any deck that runs a threevo though, especially if the threevo is your wincon. I thought going in that Pika would have more consistency, but in reality it somehow how MORE games where you can't even play than mewtwo. >>56954400The idea I had was rapid tanks a pika hit and still pumps dmg + Blaine and softens up all their mons so pidgeotto can come in and one shot anything it drives off, and at 100 hp helps stall like Kang for you to find the stage 2Lots of kill pressure on its own to for easy prize points with all the extra burn, I also don't believe pidg is a control mon since you have to be able to kill what you swap in or they'll just swap it back out, and unless you hit pidg on curve you're not going to be delaying much swapping shit

>>56954521Data is flawed bc it counts small tournaments the same as large tournaments. Also very fkawed because it relies of results when people are bad at playing this game. A deck like Pika is much easier to pilot and more forgiving of mistakes than Mewtwo
>>56954486If your opponent plays Sabrina the fossil can die for your benched Pokemon's sins.

>>56954509>longtime ex-pro TCG playerThis is a hindrance in this game. People are only just now realizing that this is a 20 card deck where (random, it multi colored) energy is given to you every turn and that a 20 card deck, with a starting hand size of 5, where one of those is guaranteed to be a basic plays vastly differently to a 60 card deck with lands.

>>56954546Correlation does not mean causationJust because it shows pikas have a higher win rate does not mean they're automatically better than the mewtwosOn the chart mewtwo is like 22% of all the decks and pika only has 6%, so triple the entrances and shitters weighing down the average
>>56954564>On the chart mewtwo is like 22% of all the decks and pika only has 6%, so triple the entrances and shitters weighing down the averageAre you retarded? The reason Pika has a lower percentage of the metagame is because each Pika variant is its own category. Mewtwo is just always Mewtwo/Gardevoir, so there is no such issue there.
Ermmm???
>>56954557The tournament rules don't ask for energy generation as part of the decklist. Were they allowed to switch it between games?
When there are enough cards, I will make a deck with all female trainers and a few gardevoir typesAnd I will play it so other people can enjoy the art, even if its not competitive.
Every Basic Pokemon that evolves should have an attack for 1 energy, and no evolution should have an attack that costs more than 1 additional energy than its previous form. Evolution is already a huge disadvantage. Not only does it set you back but it just plain feels bad to evolve a Pokemon that can't attack.

>>56954579Oh wow I've been in tourneys and there is no way you can say what energy you run in the deck list, and never been asked, I thought about potentially running dark in my dragonite deck and then not in others, and if anyone would think ill of that, but with open decklist maybe ditto can actually shine like this and have a different energy depending on match up.Not every deck and do it but it can be a clutch option for Mewtwo and Zard, even eggy. Now I want to join some smaller tourney with a ditto deck and do just this.
I only installed this game for Charizard, but now I'm at the crossroads of deciding if I should spend my HGs (20 packs' worth) to try for a 2nd crown Charizard or hold to be able to pick up future support for the Charizard deck
>>56954575I don't know how I could be a delinquent if I had such a cute dog as a friend. Mightyena is like a German Shepherd/Hyena mixed thing. It's so cute!
>>56954585>Wait to evolve it. What are they going to do, Red Card you?Worse, they'll just kill the Basic leaving me with a 2 dead cards in hand. Let my Alakazam die with honor on the Active zone.
>>56954572 I looked it up again and I'll take that backI do think mewtwo is the stronger deck, but pika is overall better into most decks and doesn't get utterly shit on by the counter typing
>>56954614As someone just like you, but with Charizard, just hold. Charizard is one of my favorite pokémon, but I'm fairly worried about the power creep that may or may not be introduced with the next set. There are other pokémon I like that I'm worried I may have to whale for when they're inevitably introduced. Also the Crown Charizard is ugly anyways.
>>56954637You know, and I mean this in the kindest way possible, but it takes you a very long time to eventually arrive (loudly) to the same page that everyone else is already on, so I hope the other anon is correct about you baiting.

>>56954614Crown Charizard is in all three packs. Worry about it later, you might get lucky.

>>56954641Whoa nice on the double. How much did that take to get? I rerolled for the 1st and have a 2 star version I use for the 2nd. It's just that it gets boring as the days pass with nothing else that's 'easier' I care to really work toward with my account.>Also the Crown Charizard is ugly anyways.I'm not a fan of the 3D modeling being deemed the best since artists are able to show more effort for 2D, but I just wanted to bling out the deck as I use it most often. >>56954432who's completion ? The dildo ? Mine ?What if I cant cum from my ass ?
>>56954486Let's say you have a moltres up front and a little charmander in the back. Your opponent can nab the little shit with sabrina and kill it, fucking your entire gameplan. If you place something else on the bench, you can switch it instead to protect your little charmander. If you use any random pokemon, that pokemon will make your opening hand and pokeball searches less consistent. A wall like snorlax could be taken advantage of if your opponent decides to leave it there while they set up and you can't retreat it. A fossil has none of these downsides. You slap it down early to save your backline, and if it's still there late game you can discard it so that they can't Sabrina to get around your big EX win condition and kill the useless mon on the bench for that last point to win.So any deck based around a big stage 2 pokemon can use fossils.

For the 5th card in the pack, the chances of pulling either of the full art exs goes up to .222% each and the regular Ex goes up to 1.332% for a total of a 1.776% chance to pull an Articuno ex vs a 1.428% chance to pull the standard Articuno card.

>>56954641>>56954670PLANETA full art CGs are fucking uggo as hell. It's a shame that some of the best or most rare cards are subjected to that, honestly. I have to believe that at some point we'll get based art exs and can put these in the binder to collect dust or use as bargaining chips.

>>56954833I never claimed Venu is supper offensive, just thick as fuck, especially with all the healing/sustain. If you do near-max 1 turn healing (2 Pots + Butterfree + Erika + Bloom = 140HP), you can even survive two full crab hits, but that's exponentially less likely, that's for sure.
I accidental l learned you can go to the next card by sliding on the description at the bottom left and right. I always thought it was weird you couldn't do it because I tried to slide the image of the card. This app is peak Japanese obtuse design.
>>56954827idk how true it is, early NZ players can chime in herebut apparently the gold cards were a last minute addition for global launch, for the whalesmaybe upcoming super rares are better. they did datamine a rarirty rarer than gold in the datamines too, rainbow. but this might also be a mis-translation like a bunch of the datamined stuff tho

>>56954843stage 1 haymaker decks will wreck meta slaves as long as you know what you're doing. Cards like farfetch'd or kangaskhan are good to slot into any deck. Personally I built a deck revolving around Sandslash and Primape and it's given me more wins than losses.
>>56954843Save your wonder pick stamina for the event that starts tonight, you'll have opportunities to get cards for the Blaine deck which is very effective without any ex Pokemon, and you'll have chances to get Arcanine ex too, which is strong but not meta defining

>>56954866but I want to play mewtwohe's my favorite pokemon
>>56954843Are you rerolling efficiently? You should be opening around a dozen packs or so before each restart. The decision point is generally when you're forced to play the tutorial + battle section to progress on packs. That's when you slow down, so it's good to reroll just before then unless you have SOME good cards in which case you can push more and do the battle to see if you're willing to keep the account if you get more good cards. It only took me some hours doing this on launch to get the account I wanted.

>>56954883I understand your point of view but I'm 12 Kanto Pokemon away from getting Mew now and Arcanine is one of the last ones I need so I will be trying for him. I also haven't pulled the regular rare Charizard yet so if I I'm able to get one of those too I'll be happy

>>56954930with how condensed the format is, i doubt it
>>56954953can I subscribe for the free trial and then immediately cancel or do I have to wait
>>56954924Focus on like the central 2-4 cards required for the deck. For instance, if you're building Charizard, reroll until you get 2 Moltres EX and a Charizard EX. If you're building Pikachu, reroll until you get 2 Pikachu EX and a Zapdos EX. If you're building Mewtwo, that's more trouble since Gardevoir line is harder to pin down but you'd just do what you can there. The rest of the cards to comprise the deck will gradually come together.
>>56954933>I just realized i have no zapdosIf you don't have Zapdos EX don't even bother playing Pika.
>>56954955Jolteon itself isn't the issue, the problem is that you need an Eevee and that's at least one turn you can't fully ball out because you have a non-electric mon on your bench.
>>56954959You can immediately cancel and will retain the benefits for the full two weeks
>>56954912No, but some mons available at 3-diamond are more common than others by being available in higher slots. e.g. 3-diamond Gardevoir and 3-diamond Dragonite are equally common but you can also pull 1-star Dragonite, so Mewtwo packs contain Dragonite more often than Gardevoir

>>56955046going first in a turn based game is always a huge advantage, card game or notthe only solutions for that are symmetrical turns with priority passing, but the only cardgames that did that bombed and died (because most people don't actually want good rulesets they want fast games where they don't have to think a lot)
>>56955030>>56955033you shuffle your decks but run cards that glue the deck together, ygo does this all the time with archetypes (and skills in duel links) and it gets easier with there only being 20 cards in tcgp so that you're not forced to run filler cards that can amount to a brick, hell tcgp already mandates by design that you open a basic so it's already on board to an extent with the kind of game design I'm talking about, the rampant coin flips are the most hazardous parts that destroy consistency

You can say you're in favor of reducing luck based elements from a tcg but you have to accept luck and rng are inherent aspects to any game with a shuffled deck or a flipped coin determining who goes first or second and thus ring can never be eliminated.
>>56955060you still have to draw those cards in yugioh retard, you're never removing rng from card games, it will always have some element of itYou just have to accept some games you won't draw that card you need or flip the heads you always want

>>56955089it would be an even bigger fucking advantage than second player has right now aka first attack and higher energy count vs only higher energy count you fucking double digit iq inbred
The starting player should flip a coin and either be allowed to attach an energy if they flip heads or be allowed to attack (if they can find a source of energy) if they flip tails.

The only way to remove luck from a tcg would be if both players played the same deck in the same card order with no shuffling and everything is always face up including hand and deck with simultaneous turns. Sounds like a shit game. Tic tac toe with extra steps.
>>56955092I think every card game player has to go through the stages of acceptance with the fact that the best deck building and strategies in the world will still have you losing in bad luck situations and that card games at the end of the day are kind of bullshit to not take too seriously, that the randomness is what makes them fun and engaging compared to something like chess which can be memorized and predicted by computers and autists.

Is there an objectively worst/best type? Grass seems bad offensively, as most waters are weak to electric instead of grass, and half the ground types are fighting a who are weak to psychic. Steel also seems meh, and only beats a small subsect of purple cards while losing to the common fire
>>56955128Yeah I think steel is the worst type right now. No supporter card, a weakness to fire which is well represented by Charizard ex and Blaine decks, pretty rigid energy requirements on the limited pool of cards available (Melmetal only accepts one colorless energy) so you can't as easily integrate them with other types, and the ONLY Pokemon in the game right now with a steel weakness are Snom and Frosmoth.
>>56955096You realize that'd be the exact same as right now, only reversed, right? First player is on an energy deficit and second player gets to attack first (obviously depending on energy costs, but lets work with simple one energy examples). If neither get to attack their first turn, there's no energy deficit (except for who wins the coinflip attaches first but winning the coinflip should be a *good* thing in the first place) and they both get at least one turn of setup (less chance of a first hand brick/no bench death).A better solution to me would be letting first player attach but not hit (both get some advantage - energy surplus vs first attack) or neither get any energy (or both get energy but no attack) on their first turn for the above plus one turn of setup apiece.
>>56955127Humor me for a sec and expose your own ignorance. What does it mean to have an advantage?
>>56955128Steel is straight ass, it barely has any pokemon and the only one with something resembling an actual strategy is woefully less efficient and effective at making it happen compared to similair decks. We really need the next pack to add more steel types to make it a real archetype, it has no place in the meta at the moment. Hopefully they add a Jasmine card for additional support.

>>56954989There's like 60 coinflip cards in all of MTG and no one plays them
>>56955116The whole point of playing a TCG is about mitigating the effects of randomness.Like, that's what makes TCG's fun. Building a deck and devising a strategy that can win as consistently as possible DESPITE random factors. If someone doesn't like randomness in a TCG, they just straight up don't like TCGs in the first place. Those people should go play a board game or something, like chess or whatever.

Fuck, that's gonna be hard bros. Lots of variance and not a ton of events from now until the new set. Don't worry friends, I expect Mewtwo to be close to unplayable, or at least very significantly weaker, if the new set brings with it 30 card decks. I'll make sure to tell you guys the best deck again from my comfy armchair if I think I know. Unfortunately, this situation like with Mewtwo where it's super clear that I've broken the format only happens once every blue moon in my TCG career. I understand the rules, but do we know what some of the best/most winning decks in this format are so far? Also, last 2 Mewtwo mirrors I played both had fossils. Fuqqqq people are figuring it out.To be fair, that Tricky Gym guy figured this out before even I did, which makes sense bc he's a pokemon pro who moved to Australia or whatever to play Pocket early kek. I should see what his other videos are about. I only saw the one about fossils some other anon posted yesterday (or was it 2 days ago)

I did make a 2 minute vpnx water deck if any want wants to go as Blaine and see if you can beat type advantage, it’d be a good test.
>>56955707>arcanine but with mandibles and electric typeWhat did they mean by this?

>>56955760Nah zapdos is clearly leaf type just look at it, it's green
>>56955771No, because there are conditions like from Omastar that prevent attacking or Psyduck that prevent using trainer cards.Putting hypno in your back line and flipping coins for sleep 3 times a turn isn’t fun or fair, if you could switch them out, then maybe it’d be okay, but you essentially lose a turn, and I’ve been seeing more and more Hypnos in random decks already.
>>56955760it's a raikou

BTW guys, in my ex-proffesional nerd game player opinion, the next metagame shift will be Weezing Arbok placing higher, with at least 1 top 8 I think. We can also expect a tick up in Charizard decks, but they're not as favored vs Mewtwo as they think they are. If I wasn't allowed to play m2, I'd play Weezing Arbok for sure this weekend. No idea how to build the deck best, but I know that it is rough af as a m2 faggot no matter how they build it (except I never lose if they play pidgey but my sample size is like 3-5 only so my results don't mean much there)
>>56955783All the meta shit in this game your whining about hypno's? You'd shit your pants if you had to fight these status effects in the actual game.

OK guys I got a new formatRdpp (Reddit Pokemon Pocket) Every card must have the ability to flip a coin at some point. Everyone must play at least 2 ex pokemon.
>>56955651WOW I CAN SEE MY NEXT CARDis this useful?
>>56955790>tick up of charizard decksnah, if anything charizard stocks are going to drop in favor of arcanine EX decks with the new event happening next week.
>>56955705>Do you really need me to explain that?Yes. I do. That's why I asked. Stop hemming and hawing. Make your point, if you have a point to make.
>>56955790>plays mewtwo>thinks the only deck that can beat him because of type advantage is OPDark gets stomped by fighting and grass even, pikachu is a tossup.Running dark electric or dark water might be viable, water esp with misty, also I’ve been heavily experimenting with mienshao and heliolisk and golbat to try and make a multi-color meta killer deck, and I can say it’s almost there, with more cards multicolor dark will be the new meta, but not because of why you think.
>>56955800Arcanine is better in pika heavy metas and zard better in m2 heavy metas, no?Maybe I'm naive, but it doesn't look like access to cards is a big consideration to n these tournaments considering pika was most played for a long time with 4 ex cards.
>>56955790No one cares but your autism leaves you with the inability to recognize this so I'm asking you politely now to stop sharing your opinions this way. Don't preface every statement you make with some appeal to your own authority on the subject matter of children's trading card games as if you're the only one who posts here that is capable of rubbing two brain cells together.
the annoying part is that the meta is solved at allthere is no room for anyone to come up with some gigabrain innovative deck that splits a tourney wide open
>>56955783Para/Sleep/Confusion have been a staple of the TCG since the beginning. We just don't have a Full Heal card yet.If anything, ban moves/abilites that rely on coins to inflict those status, but don't ban the status itself.

>>56955805When did I say it was OP?If anything should be banned (nothing should) it should be Mewtwo or Pokeball).Note the above sentence I just shat out without thinking deeply, so is likely not super accurate. All I said was if I was playing a tournament this weekend, which unfortunately I cannot, and I couldn't play m2, I'd play weezing arbok because I expect like 40%+ m2 overall and 75%+ M2 in the 2nd half ofnthe tournament.
>>56955810Why are people even trying to make tournaments for this. It's deliberately designed to be extremely simple and basic as a quick diversion where you open a pack and have a 5 minute game while you're on the bus/train to work in the morning.
>>56955822i see the idea but that idea seems very gimmicky

>>56955808That's fine. I post for myself, faggot. Also, I've had some great little talks over the weeks here with people who actually want to win. Its extremely faggy of me to keep saying "its me" but that seems less faggy than spinning up a trip. Besides, if I used a trip then I wouldn't be able to make you mad. Also some posts claimed to be me and weren't, which is fucking hilarious.
>>56955835>why are people gambling money on this RNG heavy gamegee anon, I dunno.
>>56955792NTA but the actual game has way better counterplay because you can actually play reactively, so you don't know what you're talking about. There's a Poison-type out on the opponent's side? I can switch in my Steel-type on their attack. There's a para flincher like Togekiss? Yeah THAT's especially shitty and could cheese a win but at least there are abilities, items, moves, and resistances that can better attempt to mitigate that lockdown way better than just letting things happen to you in TCGP.
>>56955811You completely misunderstand why we have made this meta if you think sleep and paralysis should be in it. I like pincurchin and wish he was in it, but it would be abysmal. Play omastar if you want to disable attacks, psyduck, gengar to disable support cards, more cards will come out that have different abilities. It’s a good format and lets you play lots of different decks.
>>56955835It was deliberately designed to have PVP too, dumbass. Talk about cherrypicking.

Pauper format would go hard, vpnx would be a bunch of decks you could play on ladder/rogue competitive, people shit talk the commons and uncommons but I'd argue pauper is about as hard as regular play
>>56955826Jej, we could just have a “goes second” tournament, where if you go first you forfeit, that would be fun.>>56955831Does smogon run video game championship ladders?>>56955832If pokeball and professor (card draw) would be banned it’s def change things up a bunch, maybe. What I’m saying is, koffing arbok is especially potent against mewtwo, so yes, it’s good against 1/3 of the meta, but some matchups it doesn’t do that well, pikachu it’s like 50/50, and I got stomped by any Venusaur deck that didn’t get screwed on the draw. Same with fighting decks, marowak and sandslash r8p it.Arbok/weezing with a splash of another color or two is nearly an “online” deck, it might be a thing once we get new cards.
>Jej
>>56955873>Does smogon run video game championship ladders? No. The Pokemon Company does.Whatever Smogon runs it's not at all related to VGC.
>>56953792sex with sabrina
>>56955871In addition to pauper format I think singleton has fun potential, but maybe with requirements for including stage 2 or 3 Pokemon so everyone doesn't just use the same basic Pokémon
>>56955859Ok and even for those things, there are intrinsic ways to direct a reactive counterplay effort, like switching in a Grass-type on a Spore user and an Electric-type on a Thunder Wave user. For evasion, you can resort to things like Taunt and Roar and non-accuracy check attacks and so on. The point is that the real game has many, many more components you can have in play at once to dip into like a tool box for the appropriate response. The same can't be said for TCGP.
>misty flips five coins on starmie first turn.guess I'll die
>>56955855Paralysis is never guaranteed (always a coin flip) because it’s an auto- no switch out- no attack- turn skipSleep is usually (always?) guaranteed because they get a coin flip at the beginning of their turn before it becomes an auto- no switch out- no attack- turn skip. That’s pretty much the same thing except you could potentially put sleep on and switch out, either way, they’re both absolutely horse shit and leave a huge advantage up to a coin flip. I like pincurchin and frosmoth too anon.
>>56955866Says the guy that conveniently left a major aspect of the game out while asking a retarded question.
>>56955885Well, then you'd have to ban poisoning an enemy that has 10 HP left, since they can't counterplay it.
>try to make a fun deck>get raped The power creep in this game makes it feel like pockets been out for 1 year. I wish we could chill and play with non ex stuff.
>>56955873I'd imagine pika is over 60% win rate over weezbok. Its a meta call though where if you can not lose the first like 3 or 4 rounds, you're gonna run into a ton of highly favorable matchups. In MTG I only played a deck that tried to prey on a metagame like this in one Pro Tour and I regretted it. I just always try to play what I think is strongest against the top x decks and not get too carried away. Other pros though have literally won Pro Tours off of just metagaming hard and getting their read on the metagame correct?
>>56955878Ok, but have you considered that the retards at smogon are universes less retarded than the Pokémon company? And that the Pokémon company has lost all legitimacy and authority over its own product, so if smogon bans freeze or sleep it’s a better example of why it should be banned than if the Pokémon company didn’t ban it?
I'm fucking arguing with a smogonfag.I though I'd be free from them on the TCG thread. My life is over, I'm out.
>>56955898>I realize I have nothing of value to say so I'll shut up now
>>56955887Keep working on that reading comprehension.
>>56955895I never played the Pokemon video games competitively, but my understanding is there's a shit ton of banned Pokemon and moves. Can you summarize what a completely unrestricted meta-game would look like? I think one of my friends into that scene said Wobuffet was like way way way too strong or something?I played the games growing up, of course, but never got into the high level comp scene. Is the issue that without bans it's too luck intensive or is it that only one team set is viable without bannings (or both obv).Teach me some anon-kun
>>56955904Maybe I shouldn't have posted this kek.Sounds like its a highly emotional conversation for you /vp/edos to have.
>>56955891You’re silly anon. Thanks for making me chuckle.>>56955893Yeah, that’s what I’ve been trying to do, including Mienshao gives you a slight edge over electric, heliolisk is kinda meh, I try swapping for Zapdos ex, which is good against moltres and articuno also. The trick might be to go fighting dark and run heliolisk? The main problem you run into is consistency, a little more card draw would be good, deck gets crowded. Pic rel is what I was playing around with, did decent but I had to accept getting rekt by rng every so often.
>>56955895the TCG and the video games are two different things. whatever smogon does doesn't matter for pocket ot the TCG.

>>56955910Wow, anon, this is a crazy deck. It looks really bad, but I'm proud of you for thinking outside the box and trying shit no one else in the world will do. People like that in MTG often do horribly for years until they absolutely break it and warp the format around their list.Godspeed
>>56955910what ht efak
>>56955904>>56955907Lel, I have not the best idea, but freeze was banned because it was only a 20% chance per own turn to unfreeze, they made a clause you could only freeze 1 mon per game. Sleep and freeze fully disable your mons and maybe for multiple turns, this game is worse because you can’t recall them, they are OP and based on a dice flip, it’s like playing any game and then basing a huge advantage on a dice flip, it’s just weird. In MtG most dice flip abilities are see as kinda “kooky” and “random”. That works.
>>56955933yeah for the type missions thats basically what it boiled down to for me.
>>56955929*punches you in the gut and opens fist to ki blast you*I actually did just get a double Ninetales in my WP feed but since the new event starts tomorrow I ignored it

>>56955936That was the final iteration, which wasn’t the best version, but you get the idea. Was also experimenting with using misty or Brock as a source of water and fighting energy, but extra trainer cards made the deck crowded also. We’re so close.
Lol that Tricky Gym guy literally recommended the exact Mewtwo list I first built, except he had 2 gio and no red card. That guys gotta be legit. Idk what his results are but he both looks and sounds like a pro Pokemon player and he says things that are obviously true, but yet others don't believe like "you want fossils in Mewtwo" and "don't play more than 4 basics".A man after my heart. (No homo)
Stop pretending to be me.
>>56955936The OTHER thing that made this deck happen was the draw RNG, I noticed it kept giving me 2 weezing game after game, so I took it out, and it wouldn’t ever give me an arbok, so I put an extra one in, I think this deck was my best attempt at rng manip where every card it gave me would have to be “something”
>>56955892i just find the coin combat tiring
>>56955969While I hear you, it's also very difficult to get a large enough sample for something like that. Turn 1 stuff is easy to do math for, but harder a stuff like that like.

>>56955984Cope and seethe faggot.Fossils are rly good in m2.Regular mewtwo is bad.And we arrived at these lists pretty certainly from mostly theory too, which is a sign of someone who knows what they're doing instead of the copypasta fags
>>56955983I would like to bake it as /tcgp/ but I feel like I'm going to get yelled at, should I do it anyway?
>>56955993Do it
Im cool with vpnx banning sleep since it's meant to be more casual, but essentially you're coin flipping for extra dmg on a mon like this uncommon boy, but over several turns. Hypno you can't really interact with unless sabrina, but pinchkurin you can set up a mon to revenge kill it pretty easily if you have a decent deck, or at worst plan to trade one and a half pokemon for the status dealer, who will have less dmg to compensate for its effect. If it's on the board you can deal with it, and you have full knowledge that's its coming too, if your deck can't kill it, it's just trash
As an ex-professional trading card game player I have to keep it a buck one hundred emoji with you guys. Sometimes the losers would have to get under the table and suck the winner's dick. And full disclosure, it's very rare to go through a tournament undefeated.
>>56955993Straight up you should bake it as /ppg/ to piss off the schizophrenic leak thread dude lel But idk, mods might not like it? Idk if they care about those things.
>>56955998I'm also an ex-professional trading card game player. My lifetime winnings are in the six figures, and I can attest to the fact that what this anon's saying is 100% accurate. Sometimes, if you lose really bad to someone, they make you walk around the venue until you see a buttcrack, then you have to swipe it and lick the sweat off. It's not that bad.

>>56956012I'm not that guy, but Meowth in Mewtwo is dogshit. You are right that he's going to keep posting YouTube video shit and sucking himself off about it though.
>>56956012But those pieces of tech are bad?Meowth literally has an overall lower chance of m2 kek.
>>56955663I'm experimenting with 1 ball; not sure if I'll keep it. As for Potion, I'm actually doing alright without it. This deck isn't the omega stall-y Butterfree deck, so Potion would take a bit too much tempo away from, say, a Sabrina or an Gio KO. Nothing wrong with the Free-Saur sustain deck, but that's not what I want to play.
>>56955548That's still only 120, anon.
>>56956024>>56956025Second place deck from yesterday with two Meowths. Try it before you speak
>>56956074>Try it before you speakI tried it. That's why I'm speaking. Meowth just steals an energy from Mewtwo, and the goal of the Mewtwo deck is to put energy on Mewtwo every turn.
>>56956080Meowth gets Gardevoir pieces faster, which gets energy on Mewtwo faster. mind blowing I know
>>56955865How is oak bringing them to one?
>>56956087I know you love shitposting and that every post you make is a shitpost, but Meowth is not good in Mewtwo. He's just not. Why don't (You) try it out?

>>56956097How do explain the tournament results? Just a fluke? Also you never even argued why Jynx would be bad tech, which also isn't true. You're just being a contrarian when there's literal tournament winning decks using Meowth and or Jynx
>>56956121>How do explain the tournament results?Mewtwo is really good. >Also you never even argued why Jynx would be bad tech, which also isn't true. I didn't say this. This is me >>56956024>You're just being a contrarian when there's literal tournament winning decks using Meowth I'm not being contrarian. Mewtwo is good. Meowth is not good. I used Meowth in the first Mewtwo deck I ever built, played it for my first 25 wins, took it out, and liked the deck way more. There were so many games where I started with Meowth instead of Ralts or Mewtwo, put an energy on Meowth (no other basics and/or trying to find Gardevoir pieces) only to lose the match because I was 1 energy too slow.
>>56955757you are a fucking retard and I sincerely doubt you'd be able to cast anything in front of hundreds of people.Autistic retards always assume public speaking is easy but can't even talk to one girl.
>>56956140I'll consneed here because I'm tired of arguing with you and you're being pretty respectful. Your premise is logical, if the deck works better for you without Meowth so be it. I know I've played the deck a lot with many permutations and have been in situations where I did and did not want Meowth or Jynx in the deck, I've had success with them and with just the vanilla deck. I've playtested enough to say that Jynx is excellent in a Mewtwo mirror match when both you and your opponent are playing chicken with Mewtwo on your bench, and Meowth has been a lifesaver just as a Sabrina target like the way fossil would function, and for draw power in slow starting matches. I respect your opinion so let's just go to the new thread already.
