can someone explain the time travel twist to someone who never played this game? are the professors evil or something?

>>56964731The professors you see in the game are AI robots imbued with the professor's memories and personality. The real professor died probably about 2 years before the start of the game.As for the time travel part, it's ambiguous whether Paradox Pokémon are really from the past/future or if they are from alternate timelines.

You ignorant, foolish vermin.
>>56965053What thing?
>>56964991Well my bf is Arven so I need you to apologise right now, anon.>>56965008I did like the DLC a lot, but overall, I agree. I was also disappointed how little the DLC had to do with Area Zero. It's honestly audacious that the DLC was called "The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero" when literally only the last 20 minutes of the game are about that. I just expected to find out a bit more about the mysteries around the crater and Paradox Pokémon.Anyway, here's more Kieran kino. The fact that he focuses all his attacks on Ogerpon when it's on the field is amazing.
>>56965087I'm still needing confirmation that Terrapagos is just time travel because the AI thing feels way too out of left field.Everything that it expresses and does feel more 'wish fulfillment' that ties into how it can access such over "Yeah, these pokemon are just alternate timeline versions of pokemon that look like ours and thats it" when clearly it's the whole paradox of Sada/Turo seeing these Pokemon ideas in a magazine and imagining them to be such when they attempt to bring Pokemon from the past/future.
>>56965108No anon, it's just timeline shenanigans. The anime confirmed that yesterday as well. The imagination stuff was a red herring. Pecharunt is the wish fulfilment guy and he has no connection with Terapagos. Also, pic related, both to what you said and this thread.
>>56965087>Kieran kinoKikino...
>>56965140I haven't seen it yet as I only just finished binging the episodes yesterday morning before it came out. I'll check it out, but consider my stance somewhat stubborn since I know timeline/time travel shit exists since we got 2 Pokemon involved with that. But someone wishing to have an extra pair of hands and building a working AI duplicate beyond anything we have seen in Pokemon is still worth scrutinizing that something is up and the answer smacked at us doesn't feel conclusive.

>>56965087>It's honestly audacious that the DLC was called "The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero"I genuinely believe that Game Freak was trying to make the "hidden treasure" a double meaning in the same way Clavell uses treasure to refer to either Terapagos or Kieran's story (since he's a DLC/hidden character). It's the only explanation for how blatantly shafted Terapagos got, more than it being because they wanted to expand on it in the anime.
Then something just snapped, something inside of me. I didn't care anymore,
>>56965140>The anime confirmed that yesterday as wellYou didn't watch the anime, did you.
>>56965213>blatantly shafted Terapagos gotIn what way?
>>56965140>it's just timeline shenanigans. The anime confirmed that yesterday as well. You get btfo'd every single time imaginationfag.
>>56965641Huh? The image is showing exactly what I said.
>>56965641>Imagination theory proves Time Travel or a Pseudo version based on peoples wishes>Time Travel fags continue to shit into trumpets that it's just Dialga/Celebi repeat and to ignore everything like how Paradox Pokemon make no sense, It has nothing to do with Terastylization (Something definitely said to be because of Terapagos), or how Sada/Turo made a perfect AI robot clone of themselves despite no evidence of it before it happened.Terapagos manipulates reality to a persons desire, not simply Time travel. Simply put, it can fuck with time.
>>56965915>that it's just Dialga/Celebi repeatWhen in the ever loving fuck did they give us distant past and future plots?
>>56965960In PLA
>>56965964Yeah because being sent by Arceus 150 years ago is the same is bringing pokemon in from several million years ago.

>>56966029Pretty sure they didn't start travelling for games until gen 6.
>>56966005How? Our theory is "manipulated reality explains time travel"Your theory is just "It's just time travel" and fails to explain Terastylization
>>56966043I believe they traveled for gen 5 to New York though
Still gives me the creeps
>>56966048Nigga you can't even spell

>>56966048Your theory went from>granted their deepest wishes by creating fake pokemon and mind controlled heath and the professorTo>it's multiple timelines because of a mistranslation but not really because it was the main game that was a mistranslationTo>the anime! The anime proves me right! And lo and behold the anime just has it as strict time travel. How many times do you have to be wrong until you finally fuck off?
>>569663542 and 3 have literally nothing to do with each other, what are you on about bro
>>56966365It's almost as if your belief in these inane theories is the only connecting element.
>>56966354I mean, this guy IS the yawnfag of lore threads.
According to my infinite wisdom, y'all are stupid
>>56966374Nigga I'm neither of those peopleTake your fucking schizo meds lmao>>56966384Only smart person in the thread
>>56966309Yeah... In HGSS unreleased event and the setup for PLA. SV shows a portal dropping Pokeballs to release copies of Pokemon from a magazine stated to be 'dubious' and had the professor appear at the pool that you create the bootstrap paradox where text in the game changes because of it.The divide in what you and >>56966354are wanking off to feel a smug sense of superiority is accepted, but not the full answer to what we state Terapagos power is. Because you guys still cannot explain Terastal phenomenon and the AI robot the professors made since that is connected to Terapagos and are clearly not because of Time Travel. If making a robot human clone is just that easy, why is there no evidence of it beforehand? Why did it happen after Sada/Turo happened to wish for an extra pair of hands to work as efficiently as them? Did a exact robot version of them appear before the time machine was finished, something that Sada/Turo didn't start making because their original goal was to study Area Zero and the Terastal phenomeon?Even your so called 'anime proof' is just simply reusing the same thing because they are looking for a place that doesn't exist in the modern world of Pokemon that only a Legendary trainer long ago was able to access with Terapagos. Which in the corner I argue, is a place that wouldn't exist in reality and in your case would be a place in the past (or future because IT'S JUST TURTLE TIME TRAVEL)
>Kino moments thread>Most of it is spent discussing time shenanigans
>>56966451It's because Pokemon lacks Kino moments
>>56966443>from a magazine stated to be 'dubious'All Paradox Pokemon were described in the Scarlet/Violet Book 200 years before Occulture existed, they just wrote literal fanfics on it for entertainment purposesIt's a fucking pop culture magazine>where text in the game changes because of it.Literally not a thing>you guys still cannot explain Terastal phenomenonTerapagos causes it, read the dex entry and several other sources stating so>the AI robot the professors made There is nothing to explain, and you can even give the professor the idea when you meet him at the lake lol>If making a robot human clone is just that easy, why is there no evidence of it beforehand? Why do you need evidence? You can see the fucking robotIs the MC not real because the game doesn't show his parents having sex?? Lmao>Why did it happen after Sada/Turo happened to wish for an extra pair of hands to work as efficiently as them? Because it's a solution to that literal problem, it literally says so>"If only there were two of me">"Hey wait a fucking minute"It's not a fucking plothole>Did a exact robot version of them appear before the time machine was finished, It didn't appear, they made it to build the machine>something that Sada/Turo didn't start making because their original goal was to study Area Zero and the Terastal phenomeon?Liberally wrong, they always wanted to study time travel, they only studied Terastal because of fundingOnce they completed the Tera Orb they went back to Area Zero solely to make the time machine, which is why Arven never saw them again ever since they left the lighthouse lab (the poor fucking sod)Did you even play the fucking game bro, be honest
>>56966443>but not the full answer to what we state Terapagos power is.Not that you lot ever decided on that.
>>56966564Both the game and the anime are still rather vague on that to be fair
>>56966491>Terapagos causes itYeah, And same with the time travel shit you guys flap your retarded gums about. It's Terapagos influencing and changing reality to such, not simply time travel. That is the entire point.>Why do you need evidence to explain how something that never existed in the game suddenly exists without any setupBecause the lack of evidence is proof towards the true ability of Terapagos influencing such. People don't randomly build robot clones and not recall how, especially since this is a first in the Pokemon series of a living and thinking robot that isn't a Pokemon. The issue is that I played the game and see it lining in one way. You simply take it too much at face value.Simply put, I argue that Terapagos powers are connected. Yours is that it has the power to change Pokemon types and time travel and those are two seperate powers it has.And we are both calling each other retards because you cannot accept that I think your answer is shit, and I can't accept that Gamefreak is completely speaking 100% the truth on this.
>>56966443>Because you guys still cannot explain Terastal phenomenonWhat the fuck are you talking about? The game explained that way before the Area Zero DLC came out. It was exposure to the tera crystals. That's all it's ever been. The dlc just added the stellar type being the every type to explain why exposure could change types.>the AI robot the professors made since that is connected to Terapagos It's not, it's just an AI powered by tera energy. Technically there's connection but it's a connection in the same way as saying cars run on dinosaurs.>If making a robot human clone is just that easy, why is there no evidence of it beforehandThe dlc establishes that you gave them the idea for the AI before they even pulled the paradox cyclizar through. That's at least a span of 10 years. In other words they were working on the AI before they "wished for an extra pair of hands".>Did a exact robot version of them appear before the time machine was finished,It was obviously finished after the time machine you should have paid attention to game.>something that Sada/Turo didn't start making because their original goal was to study Area Zero and the Terastal phenomeon?Except their original goal was always searching for the pokemon in the books. The terastal phenomenon and the orb was a side project to secure funding. This is all in game, how did you miss this?
>>56966569It's really not, both establish that Terapagos is a pokemon with time travel abilities that can generate crystals with the power of every type.
>>56966627Which begets the argument. The people stating it's two completely seperate powers and those saying it's a single power applied to both. That is literally all the argument is about this entire thread. The people who say 'IT'S JUST TIME TRAVEL' think Terapagos has the power to time travel and change Pokemons typing. They accept that everything Gamefreak has put in is the truth because it's what the read. The other side that is 'imagination/reality bending/whatever alternate theory' is simply 'Terapagos has a single power that causes all of this.'That Gamefreak is being vague and misleading what it actually is because there is barely any info present about it besides that we don't think things add up.And we argue like it's the theory of evolution between 'What if we evolved from Monkeys' vs 'God made us in his own image because that is what the bible says.'
>>56966616I've read them, I just think there is more to it then that. You are basically saying that it's easy for someone whose field of study is time travel to simply be able to make a fucking perfectly humanoid robot duplicate without questioning there might be fuckery.
>>56966575>It's Terapagos influencing and changing reality to such, not simply time travelExcept there's no instance of it changing reality, all it's done is pull things through time.>Because the lack of evidence is proof towards the true ability of Terapagos influencing suchAnon, lack of evidence is just lack of evidence. It means you have no grounds for your argument.>and not recall howWho said they didn't know? We don't ever talk to the professor who completed the AI so you can't make that claim.>especially since this is a first in the Pokemon series of a living and thinking robot that isn't a Pokemon.See you had to add>that isn't a pokemonBecause you know Magearna completely shuts down that argument since the only real difference between it and the AI professor is the shell they were put in.If you took out Magearna's soul heart and put it into a new vessel, like the AI body for instance, it's now just a human based machine.>The issue is that I played the game and see it lining in one wayThe issue is that you played the game and it completely blew your mind because you lack the ability to infer and put information together so you had to resort to literal magic as an explanation. I mean, how else would anyone get to wishes and desires in a game where no wishes and desires are ever granted upon contact with crystals or Terapagos? Meanwhile the theme of past and future is baked into every part of this generation whether you're playing the game or watching the anime. >And we are both calling each other retards because you cannot accept that I think your answer is shit, Anon, we're saying you're wrong becayse there's no evidence for your theory whatsoever. You're calling us retards because you don't like the idea of time travel and being told you're wrong.
>>56966686>I just think there is more to it then thatOn what basis?"I don't like it" isn't grounds for an argument or evidence for an alternative theory.>You are basically saying that it's easy for someone whose field of study is time travel to simply be able to make a fucking perfectly humanoid robot duplicate without questioning there might be fuckery.Anon, literal quantum mechanics is leagues above AI. I mean, in the real world we have shmucks on twitch making AI's of anime girls for fun in their spare time and you think people in a world where man made artificial life forms are a dime a dozen couldn't make a human one in the span of 10 years? Its like you didn't put an iota of thought into this.
>>56964940Pfffffft Oh no no no SVbros
>>56964723This absolute unit in general>Platinum's jumpscare and distortion world>Volo fight double fake outHigh tier legendary
>>56966849That shit in Platinum legit scared me a bit and I was like 14 years old
>>56966849Yeah it was really cool, and still is
>>56966754Using something someone already created and the tools to move it in one way or another. Comparing this to what Sada/Turo created is leagues different. You accept the answer because 'Professors are smart people who would know how to do anything smart because they are professors. When understanding what constitutes creating a thinking machine and breaking physics are two completely different things. Which is funny because you argue that Terapagos power to create new types and also time travel are two completely seperate powers when the argument simply is 'it is one and the same'.Also, People don't understand how the artificial lifeforms are made exactly. They don't know how Pokemon make eggs. Magearna is a rare example of one brought to life and it's MYTHICAL. It's not commonplace thing that people are doing and there was never any setup to it besides at the end of being able to suggest to Sada/Turo to build a robot. There is no clues and evidence or prototypes or hints. It just exists. DON'T ASK QUESTION, ACCEPT THE ANSWER.Why does Terapagos have two different powers that have nothing to do with each other? DON'T QUESTION, ACCEPT THE ANSWERI accept there is time travel, I argue that there is more to it then just simply repeating the power Celebi and Dialga already have. But nah... You guys will just argue that the mystery turtle has two gimmicks and that it's all solved.
>>56966627Yes, that's the gist of it, but the details are still vague as shitWe don't know how the fuck the time travel shit works There's several open questionsAre alternate timelines involved or not? How does Terapagos decide when and who it transports through time and space? Is it even a conscious decision? What's its endgame? Are always two Terapagos involved? If yes, does it have to be the same Terapagos in different points of time? It's all still quite a mysteryWe also don't know everything about Terastal yetHow did Tera crystals end up in Kitakami? What's the liquid in the orb in the Terarium? Why did Tera energies start spreading from the bottom of Area Zero to the entirety of Paldea? In other words we still have a lot of unanswered questions about TerapagosHowever none of them have to do with imagination lmfao
>>56964723https://youtu.be/dC2SeIYWE-I
>>56964723This shit blew my fucking mind.
>>56966965I don't know why, but it just didn't hit as hard in HGSS. Maybe because you never played as "that version" of Red?
>>56966931Yeah, the thing is that 'Imagination' is the first theory and the one people hound others upon. The ideas and suggestion keep changing, but the only thing people here keep chiming and claiming about is 'It's just Time Travel. Shut up'Which is funny because it's almost an 'Infinite Regress' that is just https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turtles_all_the_way_down>What are the Paradox PokemonPokemon from the past and future>Okay, But that doesn't make sense because Fossil Pokemon for the past Pokemon and the futur-Dude it's time travel, The Jigglypuff came from before the earth cooled>But that doesn't really connect with...Dude, it's just Time travel>But what about the robot AIThere is a time machine, The answer is Time travel>But what abou-TIME. TRAVEL
>>56967002Yes but unironicallyIt is time travelInfinite regress is time travel tooHow the fuck can anyone still believe in imagination after all this proof against it, I'm honest to god getting second hand embarrassment
>>56967128Because we aren't saying Imagination anymore. We literally came up with a new explanation and you reject it on the same merits because your observations and reading comprehension is stuck on 'Time Travel'.Literally you would be arguing that the world is flat and earth is the center of the universe with the sun orbiting it back in the day and getting 'second hand embaressment' because some fuck argued the world is round, or that maybe we revolve around the sun. You'ld probably be bitching about plate tectonic nonsense a 100 years ago unless some book told you it's true.
>>56967176You're just trolling right? I refuse anyone would unironically believe in "time travel through imagination" or whatever nonsense you're cooking up
>>56967194So you're saying you still believe that Paradox Pokemon are from the future and the past when the game explicitly says otherwise?
>>56967211The game does not explicitly say otherwise, what are you smoking??The game doesn't make it explicitly clear if paradoxes are straight up the past/future or from alternate timelinesAfaik either can't really be proven or disproven
>>56967002>>Okay, But that doesn't make sense because Fossil Pokemon for the past Pokemon and the futur->Dude it's time travel, The Jigglypuff came from before the earth cooledImaginationfags everyone, treating the past as a single location.
Part of the issue that while you keep pushing 'It's time travel'; some of us aren't fully convinced that is the whole answer. We can agree there is something afoot that is making something we can call time travel, but before the DLC we didn't have anything to go on but the main plot and the end of the DLC creates a new Paradox without explaining it further.Imagination was the first idea because Paradox pokemon are illogical to actual pokemon from the past. It's something dreamed up and made real caused by the crystals in Area Zero tied to Terapagos.Even then in the anime, there is still questions since while we got people seeking answers and we see more of 'viewing into the past' or what yesterdays answer brought... Why can't a modern world with satellites find this hidden paradise of 'Laqua' and the 'Laquium crysals' tied to Terrapagos as well. The answer cannot simply be time travel. It can certainly cause it, we don't deny that now.
>>56964731Adding to what >>56964869 say:yes, the actual professor (not the AI) became villain. Too obsessed with paradoxes he/she aimed to build a paradox paradise ignoring the disastrous consequences for Paldea's ecosystem. The AI was actually the voice of reason, and contacted you to stop the machine that is bringing paradoxes to present time. But when you're about to stop it, the real professor left special programming to defend the system, overriding the AI's function. That's when the possessed AI challenges you. While at it >>56964723 you should have put the actual kino moment within the kino moment
>>56967365It's alternate timelines
>>56967176>We literally came up with a new explanation and you reject it on the same merits because your observations and reading comprehension is stuck on 'Time Travel'.People don't reject your ideas based on a went for theirs, well, you clearly do based on this thread. Anyway, it's rejected because it doesn't make a lick of sense. In these threads I've seen so many of you say that timelines are interchangeable with universes and that timelines magically split for no reason and just genuine retarded babble over and over again while ignoring the game itself. Another good one is how you lot genuinely believe arven was born the same time the time machine was activated because you take everything at face value, even though that would make Arven around 9 since the professor setting up base, making the tera orb, making the time machine etc all takes place in a span of 10 years. To make things worse, when met with the DLC that suggests Arven was born before those 10 years, something that fixes that age discrepancy, you use that as evidence of another timeline leaving the issue unresolved in the main game. That's insane. That's why no one takes you or your dumbass theory seriously, you throw out any and all notions of logic and plausiblity and replace it with what you want just like a flat earther.
>>56966966Why though?
Who's stronger, time-schizzos or imagination-schizzos?
>>56967254>The game does not explicitly say otherwise, what are you smoking??>Koraidon, which I entrusted to <player>...was the first Pokémon that was successfully retrieved from the past by the time machine.">"Through analysis of its genetic makeup, as well as its behavioral patterns...I came to realize that what I had discovered was in fact an ancient form of Cyclizar, the Pokémon commonly ridden in this region."Taken directly from the game by the way.Keep in mind that even if multiple timelines were a thing, they aren't, the further back you go the more timelines would converge so while the future ones could be a potential future the past ones are set in stone as from the past.
>>56967409Define strength.I mean, if we're going with sheer autism power then imaginationfags can't be beat.
>>56967399>Our time machine research has yielded a triumph—a Pokémon from the ancient past!>I've named it Koraidon.>I was expecting one new life to treasure, but what fortune to be blessed with this gift as well!>I was expecting one new life to treasure
>>56967365>some of us aren't fully convinced that is the whole answer.Do you also believe the world is flat? Because that's the same logic they use when they repeatedly do curvature experiments and realise the earth isn't in fact flat.>and the 'Laquium crysals' tied to Terrapagos as well.By the way the Laquium was stated to be the opposite of Terapagos by Spinel.
>>56967430>because you take everything at face valueThank you for proving me right. That could be taken as>I'm expecting one child soon and now I have another or the way game suggests>I have a kid already, what a happy accident this dog is
>>56967450Ah yesThe Power of Anti-Time Travel
>>56967430>criticised for being retarded and taking text at face value>proceeds to be retarded and take text at face valueIt's like you just enjoy being the butt of the joke.
>>56967491So are we just going to ignore the fact that the first time this happened it was used to take out a terastalized pokemon?Terastalization being Terapagos' gimmick. It's almost as if they're hinting at something.
>>56967478My only argument is Terapagos power can cause time travel, not that it's power IS time travel. What it exactly is, I don't know. But Time Travel and Terastallization aren't two completely seperate powers, there is more to it that Game Freak ain't letting on because of the anime.
>>56967514But it's power is time travel, the time travel chads have clearly explained it as such.
>>56967547What about the dream chads? You know, that it was all a dream in the end
>>56967399>because you take everything at face valueYes, it's called "believing what the game tells you"It's cool that you wanna write fanfiction and all that but you do have to acknowledge that it's not canon buddy
>>56967412And what does that have to do with the imagination headcanon that anon was proposing? If anything, DNA is proof that it can't be imagination. We always knew that. And timelines diverging further doesn't mean DNA just goes away. We can still reconstruct the history of entire species through genetic makeup, even when it goes millions of years back.>>56967478Please learn English grammar and tenses to understand what the expression "was expecting" actually means in terms of the time frame it's conveying here.
>>56967617But what if the characters lied?
>>56967660Yeah it's all just a giant ruseTuro laughing in his grave cause you read his fake journalThat little rascal!
>>56967673Actually,, his corpse is beneath all the rubble of some building somewhere in Area Zero...
>>56967617>Yes, it's called "believing what the game tells you"Yeah, and the game tells you he can't be 9 and gives you an answer in the dlc. Which for some reason is being rejected for alternate timelines.Do you see the issue?
>>56967657>Please learn English grammar and tenses to understand what the expression "was expecting"You're saying that despite not understanding the difference between "I'M expecting" and "WAS expecting".
>>56967684Yes yees, I'm beginning to see the issue... The issue is you
>>56967684>>56967700Sorry, this came off as very rude
>>56967657>to understand what the expression "was expecting" actually means in terms of the time frame it's conveying here.NTA but you are aware that your own logic would lead to arven being born before the first raidon, right? If they WERE expecting a new life then that life either died or was already born, in either situation it's in the past.
>>56965610Because Terapagos did not appear until the very end of Indigo Disk and had zero moments to endear you to it before you catch it which was extremely disappointing compared to how involved Ogerpon was in Teal Mask.
>>56967721PAST?!?!LIKETIME TRAVEL!!!!!!!!!!!!

>>56967684>it can't be that because it goes against my theoryOkIt's still alternate timelines tho despite your headcanon
>>56969389>it can't be that because it goes against my theoryAnon, he's saying it goes against the game, not the theory and if your theory uses something that goes against the game then you have a theory that doesn't work. That's why timelines don't make sense.
>>56969544It makes perfect sense but you gotta think about it a bit dudeIt explains everything including the book and why Arven's age doesn't line upBut imagination time loop or whatever is cool too I guess if you simply ignore facts lol
>>56969570>It explains everything including the book and why Arven's age doesn't line upNo, no it doesn't.Your timeline theory is all about not explaining these issues but instead shunting them off to another timeline you never see where you can just say they make sense without proving they make sense. It's pretty much what people were doing with the imagination theory using what's essentially magic to explain what they didn't understand even if the game explained it right in front of their eyes, like the origin of paradox pokemon for instance being from the past or future but I digress.Basically the more you think about it the more issues arise. And let's not get into the whole infinite regress part of your theory, since you don't have a defined start or end point which is required for an infinite regress.
>>56969254Based
>>56969570>It explains everything including the book and why Arven's age doesn't line upNo?Having two timelines doesn't mean you're explaining why arven is the wrong age in one.As for the book that would make even less sense since it wouldn't lead to the same events that caused the timeline crossover so it would end after the first instance. It would only work if it was bootstrap paradox and a single timeline.
>>56969599>shunting them off to another timeline you never see You literally do see it because you talk to someone from it lmfaoIt makes perfect sense you just don't understand it>since you don't have a defined start Yes you doYou're the start because you break the cycleLike what the MC does at the lake is basically the top of the turtleIt's so funny how niggas don't want to accept infinite regress when Terapagos design is blatantly based on that very concept like open your damn eyes lmaoLook man I can hold your dick for you but I can't teach you how to pissYou need to do the brainwork required to understand the storyIf you can't make sense out of what the game shows you then that's ok but it really doesn't mean that your headcanon is right and everyone else is wrong my dudeYou're not the center of the universe yknow
>>56969628>As for the book that would make even less sense since it wouldn't lead to the same events that caused the timeline crossover so it would end after the first instance.Ooooohhh anon you're sooo close to getting it omgOk so you said it would lead to a different outcome rightSo imagine (lel) if it just.... did that, whoaSo that means it's a different timeline because it's a different outcomeAnd if there's more than one timeline it also means that the was another crossover with another timeline before thatLike yknow, one crossover is the result of another, they build up on each otherLike a stack... of... turtles... whoaAnd then Sada or Turo give you the book which breaks the cycle which means the MC is the CHAD top turtle basically>It would only work if it was bootstrap paradox and a single timeline. It literally wouldn't because the book needs to exist for that
>>56964723This is the only moment that mattered. When they released the PokeMikus.
>>56969647>You literally do see it because you talk to someone from it lmfaoSeeing someone from that timeline isn't the same as seeing the timeline itself. What we would know would be limited to that brief interaction meaning we can infer absolutely nothing other than the fact that it lines up with the main timeline putting into doubt the idea of a second timeline.>You're the start because you break the cycleThen it's not an infinite recursion you're just an end with an undefined start. An infinite recursion is defined by a starting point and going on infinitely from there, it's also used almost exclusively in reference to logical fallacies but that's neither here nor there.>Like what the MC does at the lake is basically the top of the turtleIt's not, it's the end, you yourself just said that. Breaking the cycle means that the cycle is over.>It's so funny how niggas don't want to accept infinite regress when Terapagos design is blatantly based on that very concept like open your damn eyes lmaoTerapagos has the design, sure, but this is also a Japanese game and turtles all the way down is a western logical fallacy. They probably just saw that there was an infinite thing with turtles and designed a pokemon around it without understanding the actual meaning.Which is something you should understand very well since you don't understand the concept yourself, you just see the word "infinite" and think that's it.>Look man I can hold your dick for you but I can't teach you how to pissThat's pretty gay. I don't know why you're thinking about touching dicks but whatever. >You need to do the brainwork required to understand the storyYeah I know, and you're not putting it in. You're just throwing concepts together expecting it to solve itself.Just look at how you haven't once actually tried to explain how your theory works, your responses are just>IT WORKS! YOU'RE JUST TOO STUPID TO UNDERSTAND, BELIEVE ME!
>>56967491QRD on picrel? Is it a new mode related to the anime or?
>>56969665>So that means it's a different timeline because it's a different outcomeYou absolute fucking moron. Your theory literally doesn't allow for it to be different or the infinite regress ends.An infinite regress isn't a loop, it's a chain, you can't make a change or the chain breaks and that's it.ALSO if you believe the split happened after the book change happened then that just means that the professor we meet is the exact same as the one from the main timeline until we change it meaning your evidence for it being a different timeline goes to shit.
>>56969761Red Crystal makes pokemon berserk and it's the anti-terastalization that Terapagos hates.
>>56969757>other than the fact that it lines up with the main timelineBut it literally doesn't thoI know you don't wanna accept it for some reason but Arven's age doesn't line up>Then it's not an infinite recursion you're just an end with an undefined start>It's not, it's the end, you yourself just said that. That's literally what infinite regress is... what's the end or the beginning depends on your perspectiveSo what happened to the game MC is basically P1 in this picP2 is the journal entry the prof described in their secret labAnd so onUnless you wanna headcanon that the prof still build a time machine even without the book then I guess but that's headcanon>turtles all the way down is a western logical fallacyHow does is matter where it's form lmao>They probably just saw that there was an infinite thing with turtles and designed a pokemon around it without understanding the actual meaning."Probably" huh..... cool headcanon anon>you haven't once actually tried to explain how your theory worksThe fuck do you MEAN LMAOHalf of this thread is off topic babble explaining this shit, desu I feel bad for OP that a bunch of autists hijacked this threadOk anon I have one more proposalWhen I'm home this evening I'll make an infographicMaybe you'll understand when it's something visual because words don't seem to work>>56969768>Your theory literally doesn't allow for it to be different or the infinite regress ends.Well it doesnt always end but in this case it doesOr starts, as I said it kinda depends on your perspective, but obviously there has to be an end or beginning cause it's a stack of turtles not a circle>ALSO if you believe the split happened after the book change happened then that just means that the professor we meet is the exact same as the one from the main timelineIt's not the same prof lol
>>56969774I see
Anyway let's go back to the actual topicBeni turning from funny looking old man into badass ninja motherfucker was fucking coolhttps://youtube.com/watch?v=CcL29WI-cOIAlso loved the parallels to Wally's team even though he's very different as a characterAlso after the game he said that he wants to move to a warmer place which means that that old fuck impregnated some chick in Hoenn much younger than himAbsolute chad
>>56970023Yeah that really took me by surprise haha
>>56969930>I know you don't wanna accept it for some reason but Arven's age doesn't line up Arven's ages lines up perfectly in a singular timeline, it doesn't work in your multiple timeline theory since you're suggesting that they were born at different points with the main timeline arven being younger. That's one of the main issues with your theory that you're still avoiding. >So what happened to the game MC is basically P1 in this pic>P2 is the journal entry the prof described in their secret lab>And so onIf you had actually read that journal entry you would know that we can't logically be the first instance in an infinite regress>While investigating the hidden treasure, I found myself transported to a great height, near a lake that smelled of sulfur. Based on temperature and humidity, I believe it to have been the eastern lands I've read about before.>And there, a child gave me a white volume. As you can see there's a record of the encounter meaning one happened before. If it were the start then that encounter wouldn't exist. This is what I'm talking about, you don't understand the idea of an infinite regress at all. It continues infinitely but you're treating it as if it's a loop.>How does is matter where it's form lmaoJust look at what happened with Assassin's Creed Shadows as an example. Granted you do have to have the capacity for intelligent thought and at this point I'm doubtful that you do.>I'll make an infographicAnother identifier for you other than making these threads and ignoring the plot holes and contradictions you create? Yippee...
>>56969930>Well it doesnt always endWhat the actual fuck do you mean?Of course it ends, just look at your own image. It's the same question being asked about a different subject>p1 holds>why did p1 hold?>because p2 did>why did p2 hold>because p3 didAnd so on. In other words an infinite regress for the situation in pokemon would be>the player gave the professor the book>why did the player give the professor the book?>because the previous version of the player gave them the book>why did that version of the player give them the book?>because the previous version didAnd so on, so you'd need the same occurrence to happen to continue the chain, having the player change it to a trade breaks that chain and it's no longer an infinite regress. That's how it works you colossal dipshit.>It's not the same prof lolIt can ONLY be the same professor you fucking idiot. The change happens after you give them the book so that would be when a new timeline is made, not with an imaginary non existent timeline.

On top of that calling them "THAT man/woman" means they hold some kind of significance to the author. This is basic inference, they teach this in basic English in civilised countries anon.>>hurrdurr it says they drew this from imagination so all paradoxes are imagination!!!>This kinda shit is "reading between the lines"No, that's the opposite of reading between the lines. That's how you get headcanons like alternate timelines or create plot holes that didn't exist. If you did read between the lines you couldn't possibly come to that conclusion since basically everything in the screams otherwise after all you have a literal imagined pokemon that doesn't actually exist if it was imagination it would have been manifested. It's good to know that you realised how ridiculous imagination was though, it's only a matter of time until you drop timelines for the same reason.

>>56971287The problem is that YOU don't see a difference between them. If you get information in one game you'll consider it an assumption if another game continues the lore or fills in a gap. Outright confirmation doesn't count as outright confirmation but a scene that by your logic would only hint at Sammy being Oak, that apparently was omitted from every future release or was dub only, I don't know since I can't find it on the any of my usual anime sites and sources, counts as direct evidence?Where's the logic there exactly?
I don't know what any of you retards are even yapping about anymore but it is funny that something with "Paradox" in its name and having to do with time travel is so heavily argued about nothing making sense. In a franchise that has introduced multiple timelines and parallel worlds/universes, mind you.

It was known to the locals that you could see deceased people, so we know Terapagos had to have used Time Travel in that spot in the past at some point. >>56977192>>56977213SwSh is the worst hands down. It didn't do anything right. Maybe graphics but that's generous because all characters looked like plastic and the Wild Area is ugly. It just looks marginally better than SV.
this board is so shit and the mods never give an actual good reason to not nuke it

>>56982096What is the meaning of this?
If you were to only see the pre battle animation of the chairman rose battle you would think SWSH was absolute cinema.https://youtu.be/FYGd2s5khRg?si=pNgRr3x0EgOxO3pI
>>56983380GF really thought they were cooking with Rose huh? lolSada/Turo's opening was still much better though.
>>56983380This kino ass moment almost makes you forget rose is the most nonsensical villain the series ever had
>>56983380Yeah his theme is pretty good.
>>56983380Honestly just makes me even madder at how bad Rose was. I'm glad SV improved so fucking much on the writing
>>56983455Honestly SV wasent much better to me.It was written better but the main story is just too lackadaisical for me. No real threats until litterally after you become champ and it's a small section of the plot
>>56983468I disagree. Reading the Scarlet/Violet Books and then seeing one of the Paradoxes as a Titan in the desert made me go "what the fuck is going on", the mystery around Area Zero and paradox mons was really exciting to me. Also the character writing in general was just much better. Compare it to XY, all the friend/rival characters were one-dimensional and really annoying and just immediately established as your friends.
>>56983497You disagree with my opinion that I stated as my opinion?Neat I guess.
>>56983510Well, maybe disagree is the wrong word. I guess what I'm saying is that the "no real threats" part isn't really true.
>>56966974dont you play as him in firered?
>>56983527I guess I'm of the opinion that I simply miss going through villain bases and stuff or bad guys are actually threatening towns and what not.Not some large pokemon out in the middle of no where needing to be beat up for a dying dog.
>>56983975The first has a stronger focus on the human characters while the second one focuses on Pokémon. I vastly prefer the latter, personally. Never cared about some evil retard trying to take over the world or whatever because they had a shit childhood.
>>56983990It doesn't need to be an evil retard (though I do miss villain bases)But these giant paradox pokemon coulda been rampaging in town or something. The feeling of urgency is just feeling missed to me.
>>56983998I guess so, but unfortunately basically every villain in Pokémon was an evil retard. And yeah, they definitely could've done more with showing how paradox mons were becoming a threat, especially since the AI bot says that more and more are breaching Area Zero and that's why we have to stop the machine
>>56983380Unironic ludo. The animations were really good in SWSH if anything else
>>56964731>can someone explain the time travel twist>Professor reads book>Professor REALLY likes book>Magazine covers Pokemon from the book claiming they're from [past/future]>Professor becomes obsessed with [past/future]>Professor makes contact with (You) from another timeline through Terapagos>(You) have a Pokemon that's believed to be from [past/future] because Professor said so>This "confirms" the professor's hypothesis about the magazine being right about the Pokemon from the book>You hand Professor a copy of a book that details Terapagos and the paradise "Laqua">Suddenly professor starts making progress beyond modern science, with an AI robocopy to boot>Becomes obsessed with creating the paradise (Laqua) from Briar's book>[Other game professor] leaves the picture after Arven is born>Professor doubles down. Gets killed by their own creation (a 2nd Pokemon allegedly from [past/future]>AI copy masquerades as the professor for the duration of the game because it holds all the same memories as the professor before they became unhingedAnd this filters people who can't read more than a couple of lines or the dozens with subtext suggesting it's not simply time travel but a cascade of interactions between timelines that can be a little different each time. The paradoxes we catch in-game aren't even the same from Heath's book.
>>56984061This is not a fanfic thread.
>>56984061That's not even remotely correct
>>56984061>>You hand Professor a copy of a book that details Terapagos and the paradise "Laqua"Laqua is literally just anime only shit
>>56984061I don't even know where to start.>Magazine covers Pokemon from the book claiming they're from [past/future]>Professor becomes obsessed with [past/future]This is headcanon.>Professor makes contact with (You) from another timeline through TerapagosThe professor doesn't do shit, Terapagos acted on its own.>You hand Professor a copy of a book that details Terapagos and the paradise "Laqua"Laqua is literally not a thing in the game.>Becomes obsessed with creating the paradise (Laqua) from Briar's bookBriar's book doesn't mention shit about a paradise, let alone Laqua. It only describes what happened in the second DLC.How the fuck did you get this so wrong?
>>56984091idk man idk
>>56984091It's imaginationfag, what did you expect. You can tell it's him because he still thinks that occulture matters and he's trying to pass off the paradoxes as fake pokemon of some kind.
