A thread for the creation and discussion of fan fiction and other fanworks - anything that involves a story and/or reading. What've you been reading? What've you been writing? What would you like to see more of?Thread Question- How do you prefer the morality of pokemon? Are they generally good as portrayed in canon, animalistically neutral, willing to do anything a respected trainer orders without remorse, or otherwise?
>>57073006Only certain Pokemon have the morality and backbone to do what's just, and show the fat bastards at the top what's up
How would you handle pokemon like Dodrio and Exeggutor? Multiple individuals sharing one body, basically.
>>57073079I tend to write them as a group; each head has its "own" personality, but it's a group effort they're all pitching into (or squabbling over).
>>57073006A mix, depending on the 'mon in question, but generally neutral to good. There's definitely some where predatory should be taken into account, though. >>57073079Bits/funnels, probably.
>>57073079Combination of singular references (when moving in a battle) and referencing each head individually (training, more relaxed scenarios).>How do you prefer the morality of pokemon?Probably willing to do anything their trainer orders and animalistically neutral. Wild Pokemon behave more like wild animals (with certain exceptions) but owned Pokemon either have loyalty or something darker than can compel them to behave poorly.
>>57073006>How do you prefer the morality of pokemon?I try to emphasize that there's a symbiosis between Pokemon and trainers; and while their personalities may clash, a Pokemon's nature can reveal a lot about their trainer and vice-versa.As an example, I'd point to James and his Pokemon; he's a "villain", but you can tell what a good person he truly is at heart by how excitable, affectionate and eager his Pokemon are around him. They love him to death (some more literally than others) because he's a loving trainer who painstakingly cares for them even to his own neglect.
>>57073006Pokémon are supposed to be equals with humans. Because of that, they can't afford to be animalistically neutral, for it'd only lead to slave relationships. They're either good or evil regardless of their trainers.
Is that writefuck fella still working on his Marnie visual novel?
>>57074046>Pokémon are supposed to be equals with humansyou will NOT fuck the pokemon
>>57073006>How do you prefer the morality of pokemon? Are they generally good as portrayed in canon [..]They're not, though. If you want to match canon, the existence of evil teams means that Pokemon must either be neutral (which is the same thing as "does whatever a trainer orders"), or have no generalizable morality.
>>57074717He said, it's practically finished, only waiting for some art commissions.
>>57073006I believe pokemon are naturally more predisposed to behavior we'd associate with good. I see it as how humans gravitate towards kindness and support of others in their 'tribe' or how wolves in the same pack take care of each other, but pokemon magically have a predisposition to being able to view every living thing as a member of their pack. I also layer trends of behavior of that pokemon's species and an individual mon's personality on top of that.tldr pokemon are naturally good but nuture is more important.
>>57073006I will give PMD stories a chance if you can recommend me edgekino. MCs raping and killing other Pokemon, gratuitous maiming, violence, that sort of thing.
>>57074046>equalI don't think so
>>57075181>I can only relate to creatures that don't look like me if they display the same sociopathic tendencies I do Yeah you're fucked in the head buddy
>>57074717Sup.I commissioned Rigaeru to draw art for the lewd scene with Marnie. He's a spectacular artist, but he has a life (I assume) and art takes time. At his drawing pace, the whole sequence won't be done until some time next year. Probably January. Maybe February if I decide to make the sex scene go on for really long. You can't rush quality. It will take as long as it takes.I'm going to release a beta version of the game without the sex scenes as soon as I finish making sure all the story scenes are playing in the correct order and you can get to both endings without the game breaking. (For example, at the morning after a scene where you go on a date with Marnie, the game would think you just finished doing something different, and the players would talk about looking for clues in a train station instead of what you were actually just doing) I'm mostly finished bug-testing but I'll admit I thought I was mostly finished bug testing a while ago and I'm still not done. C'est la vie.I still want to add a third ending, and there's a little sub-plot that's mentioned briefly that I decided I want to expand upon. There's also a ton of editing and spellchecking to be done before the game is 100% done, but I don't need to do any of that to release the beta build.
>>57075977Not that anon, but sometimes it be like that. It's imaginary so it's fine to enjoy dark topics. As long as they don't cause any real life harm then enjoying fucked up shit is perfectly fine.>not enjoying the idea of fucking the shit out of May and then shoving her up your ass so you can feel her struggles slowly die down as she drowns in your stomach acidSounds pretty gay.
>>57076142What you just described to me is the gay faggot version of strangling a prostitute after fucking her, the classic everyman’s fantasy. Take a look at yourself and realize how deeply you are lost, my brother.
>>57076162You know just repeating 'your wrong your wrong' over and over again means nothing right?
>>57075181Honestly this, I don’t want to read about a society of well-mannered Pokemon living in some idyllic paradise, rarely swearing or getting into fights. To be human is to be constantly in struggle with a savage inner animal. I would imagine these beings would be similar to us in that regard. I want to see them trying to hold on to their reason as emotion and instinct threaten incessantly to drive them towards ferality. I want to see small disagreements turn into deadly combat, and jealousy and desire spark barbaric, monstrous actions. >b-but that’s edgy! People don’t act like this! Civilization is a tiny, tiny blip in the history of our species. For untold eons we killed, fucked, and raped, and roamed around the earth without any higher purpose. That is what we have underneath, and no matter how much we try to suppress it, it it ends up bubbling back up to the surface anyway. Reality is edgy.
>>57075181I think it would be hard to empathize with a MC rapist. You can justify killing with self-defense or hunting outlaws. But rape is a no-noPMD: Sands of Iron - has lots of rape stuff and violence. But it's a medium-sized comic, like 50 pages or something. It's the darkest I've seen for PMD.Some anon recently self-shilled his called 'Lonesome No More' about an Absol MC that travels alone and takes on violent jobs. She drinks a lot, swears a lot, and passes out in bars. But half of it is about reminiscing over childhood and young love so you might not care (lots of intense kissing and almost sex). It's not really a PMD world like the games (not like I care). They have seedy towns with bars and prostitutes. Townsfolk cheer while criminals get executed. They live in a stratocracy with military controlling the population and drafting. She isn't in the army but they kinda fucked her life over. It's dark but also not super dark. MC is rough on the outside but good inside, and won't hesitate to kill scum.It think it's my personal new fav as far as PMD goes. It's also not too long. You can binge it in a full afternoon. If the author is lurking here, you did an amazing job.https://archiveofourown.org/works/49048243/chapters/123742576
What's Red's "thing" that makes him such a powerful Champion?
No dying on my watch.
>>57078220Autism. Or, 'the Battler', depending on what canon you're using.
>>57077018It's a rare day when someone shills me. Thanks brother.
>>57073050
>>57078259>the BattlerThe fuck does this even mean? Every professional trainer, or just anyone interested in Pokémon, is a battler.
>>57078220He values actions over words.
>>57078220Being the MC.However...All of his feats are lesser than those of every other MC. He's the only MC that's also been defeated by other MCs, thrice at that, too.All the wank he gets is undeserved, and he gets it solely because he was the first MC. That's the one and single only reason for it.Factually? There's not a single thing at all. Red is da bes and da stwongest because daddy GF said so and that's it. Even if it contradicts everything else in the entire franchise. All the Redwank and forced shilling is just as bad if not even worse than all of Ash's victories post-Yuyama being told to fuck off.
>>57078220Being asexual.Every other protagonist? They have a girl or a boy they like. They get married, they fade away from the trainer scene, they become irrelevant. Red? He has no one. Even his only friendship is a mutually toxic rivalry. He has nothing going for him except being a trainer, so he stays in the scene forever. Sure, other MC's have beaten him, but so what? He's like the only old MC who was relevant enough to get beaten by a newer MC. When's the last time we saw any of the other MCs? Oh right, we haven't.Red consistently stays at or near the top. His autism won't allow anything else.
>Absol appears in a fanfic>is a femaleevery. single. time.
>>57079753It's probably because giving vague warnibgs of ruin and woe is a feminine trait.
Does the office of Pokemon Professor hold any political or military weight? Is being some sort of genius a requirement to attain it, or is the position open to political wrangling? Are they involved in the defense of the region or development of weapons? Do you think they see their peers from other regions as friends, rivals, or enemies?
>>57079753They are Cassandra, the Pokemon.
>>57079953True, nagging about erm you shouldnt do that, watch out, dont drink and drive is very bitchy
>>57081168Exactly. If those kids didn't want to be run over, they wouldn't be crossing the street at 3pm on a weekday.
>>57081151I've always been fascinated with the professors and how they seem to hold such prestige. What makes a professor a professor. Where does their authority and funding come from. It seems much more like an informal position than an actual qualified position since in Gen 8 the grandma seemingly passes on the role of being the regions professor to her granddaughter. Each professor seems to have a specialty as well that seemingly rose them up above the status of scientist. And they also seem to be offering trainers their first pokemons so is this a task they are granted by the league? I feel these are pretty flexible cause its obvious in gen 1 those just happened to be the pokemon that oak had on him when he decided to ask some kids to run an errand for him. Do other professors do thr same as a tradition that started with oak?
>>57081151I wouldn't call it 1:1 but I'd call Pokemon professors a blend of a foremost academic authority, an appointed guiding figure to assist new trainers, a sport commentator, and a head coach. They have their own motivations and research into the field of Pokemon, but a part of that research has developed into a symbiotic function with fresh new trainers. Professors are often the destination of trainers starting out on their journeys or their League challenges who aren't coming from a school or academy with an official Trainer program. The Professors take on the rule of guiding counsel to these amateur trainers, teaching them the basics of catching and raising Pokemon, often providing them with a Pokemon themselves, and in return these proteges end up helping the Professor with their own research. It's not an official function of the League per se, but it is an accepted unofficial program that is encouraged to help introduce new talent to Pokemon battling in a way that doesn't present the prohibitive costs a prestigious school might demand of those who can't afford it.
>>57081151Since pokemon make up the main force of an army, I imagine Professors used to essentially be heads of military research. The position, if such a position exists, would no doubt be quite an influential one. Even with "peace" being established, it takes a while for beurocracies to adjust, so the position would still have significant influence, especially if the professors in question did a good job at keeping themselves relevant in their region's. For example: becoming a champion(Oak), the professors getting a large hand in the pokemon breeding & distribution scenes(all of them), etc
>>57081772That reminds me, didn't Kakui almost become the first champion in SM? Never played any alola games, but from what I've seen it seems like he pretty much founded the league. I wonder if Oak held a similar role for The Indigo Plateau
Beta version of my Marnie VN is now up. It's completely free. It runs on Windows, Android, Mac, and even Linux. The entire story is there including two endings. The main thing that still needs work is music and the lewd scenes. https://writefuck.itch.io/olivinelights/devlog/851473/marnies-moment-beta-release-for-my-next-game
>>57081151I would wager it's more weighted as a 'respect' thing. Like if you have a Professor, you've got someone doing actual research in your region, and you'll be mentioned when they publish, and it means your region has something to offer on the global stage, so you'll want one, if possible I'd say they probably see one another as peers or possibly rivals, depending on personalities involved. >>57081889I think he set things up, but just positioned himself to be the last test for the first champion, rather than the champion itself. It's a shame he wasn't able to get the Masked Royal to do it instead, though.
We all know the usual wank suspects, so, which character do you think is severely underwanked and deserves to be wanked much much more in fanfics for whatever reason you may think of be it because you think they're actually much more stronger than people think or because they've got a lot of potential for a solid narrative around them?
>>57081151Champion is the muscle Professor is the brains. In ancient times the professor was the kingdom's sage or whatever.
>>57082281What do you mean? Like which character deserves to have a story showing how hard they body everyone? It should really be Gary, but you never see Gary as anything but fodder for Ash.
PMDfag who was shitting on trainers last thread. I decided to give it a shot and started 'Borne of Caution' since it's popular. And... it's actually pretty good! Only 10 chapters in so we'll see.Still kinda wish pokemon could talk. Protag has a mental link with his Vulpix so it's okay. And it's an isekai into the game world so it interests me how canon events will take a turn and how the protag will use all his game/zoology knowledge to his advantage. One of the concerns I had was keeping pokemon trapped in balls. I can see the protags don't use pokeballs so much except when pokemon get exhausted which is nice. But then you have someone like Prof Birch who only takes Medicham out to use as a lie detector and that's weird. Are pokemon okay with that? It's strange that an intelligent mon would want to be captured but they get super pampered so I guess it's better than being wild. I'm still conflicted. Like if a trainer only uses pokeballs as a method of rescue/safety, I'm fine with that. But if they just abandon the thing in a PC, feels bad.
>>57082281Battle Facility leaders, obviously, need to get wanked. Anyone from Orre should too.>>57083768Anon, I... have to tell you thisThat's the fic we call Foxfugger
>>57083768There's no way you picked the not-pokefucking fic randomly by sheer coincidence just like that.
>>57083768You're assigning an evil to pokeballs that doesn't really exist. Are houses evil simply because they contain you? Cars? Etc?
>>57083786>>57083803Wait does the protag fug his Vulpix or not? I wasn't expecting there would be any romance, but I'm fine either way.>>57083812If you put a pokemon inside a ball forever and they can't leave, that seems pretty evil. If you are saying that pokeballs aren't the evil but the trainers who misuse them, then yeah. But it's concerning that it seems to be acceptable to leave pokemon in balls for long periods of time, possibly indefinitely. And nobody will arrest them for that.
>>57083833It's very, very, very close, but no actual deeds are done other than the mind link iirc. But it's very.... Well, keep reading, PMD anon.
>>57083833Pokemon can leave normal pokeballs whenever they want as shown in the anime. I said this last thread.
>>57083833>If you put a pokemon inside a ball forever and they can't leavePokemon have been shown escaping from even master balls. Pokeballs are not this all powerful evil thing you're seeing them as.>But it's concerning that it seems to be acceptable to leave pokemon in balls for long periods of timeIf I could withdraw myself into a pocket realm while on the job and only come out when needed I'd do it in a heartbeat. Especially if some chump is gonna be carrying me around, saving me from the hassle of even walking around myself.
>>57083812I think the evil of it is ambiguous at best, mostly because authors refuse to elaborate on the what the mechanics actually are.Do pokemon experience the passage of time? See and hear from inside the ball as implied in any setting where they release themselves in response to outside events? Forced to do nothing but watch from a trainer's hip for most of every day? Torturous. Are they put into stasis? Experiencing life in brief flashes of battle, healing, and eating? What percentage of their life are they spending inside a ball?Even the best interpretation of pokeballs is pretty dark and requires a protagonist to be minimizing their use if you want to present them as a decent person, let alone having a good relationship with their team.
>>57083803Also are you implying that a lot of your trainer fanfics contain beastiality? I thought you guys didn't write about that stuff since you were calling me a furry and all.>>57083843Woops, guess I missed that. Sorry. And obviously I haven't watched much of the anime.
Here's a question for you anons. How do you handle the propagation of communication technology for your fics? Do you just set it in the eternal 90s? Are there restrictions on the equivalent of the internet?Do you just put your MCs in places with shit signal?
>>57083833The fic has a pretty obvious *wink wink nudge nudge* thing going on with it. If you want something more explicit (at least in the sense of people fucking pokemon being a thing in-universe) his other story, Borne of Desire, does it.
>>57083863The only stories I've read that actually attempts that thing is foxfucker's stories. I don't think it's particularly common.
>>57083863>Also are you implying that a lot of your trainer fanfics contain beastiality? No, it's that it's not-Pokefucking. Like margarine is not-butter. Most of 'em don't include it, it's just that you managed to pick the ONE that does that the other anon finds funny.
>>57083867Canon looks 90's-like but with a slightly futuristic twist and larger userbase. The technology is clearly there, but it's not been out for too long so it's both not injected itself into everyone's lives to an insane degree yet(as far as the start of the mainline timeline is concerned) and not had enough time to "evolve" past the early clunky era design-wise.Video calls were a thing, "cell phones" were fairly commonplace even in RSE, etc, plus all the sci-fi shit like fossil resurrection machines and fully-sapient man-made AI(porygon) which were out in public circulation even by the start of gen1.Since porygon were a thing 20 years before SM, I've decided that non-shithole regions have primitive but functional early communication tech out in public circulation. Especially regions who've had people from the future linger in their them and as a consequence fast forward things for them a bit
>>57083939I actually was taking into account that the modern games have gone so far as the Rotom Phones and such. The in-your-face smartphone boom from SwSh and SV, even after the tablet that the Rotomdex was in SM.There's bound to be some kind of knowledge related stuff going on. Forums or other boards discussing gyms and what they do, popularity rankings for trainers in circuits, even news reporting on teams, I'm just trying to get ideas to nail it down, since, well...Today is as different from 10 years ago as 10 years ago was from 20 years. And there's definitely canonical tech progression going on.
>>57083955Oh yeah, by the time SwSh and SV roll out consumer tech has advanced rapidly. Even SM had incredible stuff. But my fics take place around or even before the start of the main timeline, so that's what I've referenced.
>>57083557Blue is actually on a pretty Clair-ish position when you think about it. He's always used as a punching bag and gets bashed a lot.I blame the anime.
>>57083867Schizo-tech as per my convenience.Fuck mobile phones and fuck widespread internet though.I fucking hate rotomphones from the deepest parts of my soul and all the PokeNet™ slop I've read in so many fanfics, specially the not-reddit reaction sections, have made me despise the idea.
>>57084045Also, I was always a big fan of how in Game of Champions Pokemon fucking hated advanced tech so people had to thread a careful balance or have massive security and deterrents to be able to put it out.
>>57084045>specially the not-reddit reaction sectionsI absolutely detest this shit. It's useless padding.>>57084040Blue isn't even that bad. Neither is Gary imo, I think Silver comes across as more of a dick than either.
>>57083867In my fic it's roughly equivalent to what we have today IRL. Smartphones exist, satellite internet is a thing, and you can look stuff up in a pinch. The main difference is that there are multiple internets. The oldest and most popular net is run by Porygons, who handle all of the logistics themselves and lease it on a regionwide basis. Since most of the world's banking and industrial infrastructure was built to run on the Porynet, almost every region pays up. The average joe gets free internet in exchange for a higher tax rate. Then there's the Rotomnet, which is marketed for individual use. If you pay a monthly subscription you get lightning-fast internet, anywhere, guaranteed. Some companies will provide Rotomnet as a benefit to their employees.Lastly, you have dozens of region-specific intranets. These are usually small, encrypted networks that allow governments and other organizations to transmit sensitive data without the Porygon cabal eavesdropping in.>spoilerI plead the fifth, he's a poorfag who won't pay for Rotomnet
>>57084062But you always beat the fuck out of Silver and he's always crying and whining like an edge faggot.Meanwhile Blue was always ahead of you through the entire journey, and losing to him was a commonplace occurrence as well. Add that up to his image being superposed to that of Gary was a dick and cunt to Ash all the time until character development happens way later and they make-up and stuff. It's nowhere near as bad as Clair bashing, but as someone up there said, on Ashfics Gay is always Ash's fodder and always make a point at how Gary will NEVER be as good as Ash is and will be.
>>57083768I feel like mental linking should be the norm with all pokemon and not just psychic types
>>57084190absolutely not, fuck off already furfagsstick to smut
>>57084270why is everything so sexual with you damn
>>57084190Even for psychic types it's cringe as shit.Even the anime used telepathy sparingly.
>>57084190but WHY though?
>>57084288
>>57084190>games barely ever do it>anime only does it with special Psychic-types, most of them can't actually communicate with telepathy>fanfic writers spam the everloving shit out of telepathy
I hate rotom
>>57084637Rotom was cool back when it was a motor possessor and not a porygon replacement.Rotomphones have been a disaster to the canon and the fanon. It's gotten so bad that most people don't even understand that Rotom needs a motor to possess, they actually think Rotom can simply possess any electronic and perfectly digitize itself.
>>57084800...hold up, would the vibration thingies in phones count as motors if made similarly enough ( if they weren't already)?
>>57084190>trainer has mental link with her mewtwo>gets transformed into a zebstrika's cock>mewtwo now has a mental link with zebra cock
>>57084190>Pokémon forms mental bond with Faller /vp/anon>inconceivable amounts of porn and memes flood its brain
>>57084070>on Ashfics Gay is always Ash's fodder and always make a point at how Gary will NEVER be as good as Ash is and will be.I only saw that in Kanto fics retelling (Feat. Serena), most of the time they have a lot of homo vibes like the average Korean novel, I personally like the ones where they act like real friends who don't care about power level instead of rivals
>>57084800I wrote for Rotom inhabiting trainers' devices first, but that aside, there is a motor in things like smart phones so probably any pokedexes and etc are valid Rotom vessels.
>>57085743Which stories have them as friends?
Doesn't Traveler has Gary as a bum?
>>57086333Nah, he’s just worse than Ash. He has some odd family history thing going on that gets clarified way way later
FUCK Isekai, FUCK betrayed stories.New Game+ is where the kino is at, especially if things went very wrong in the original timeline.
>>57086516>Peggy Sue ficsWow, we got a visitor from 2006.Make sure to buy Bitcoin bro. It hits 100k this year.
>>57086516>>57086522>Ensemble cast of OCs>Each with their own subplots and strengths that don't render each other redundant>Set in Gameverse but focuses on lesser-used characters >OC villains to avoid powerscaling with the game protags Aw yeah, I'm thinking kino
Reset Bloodlines and Ashes of the Past have ruined Peggy Sue fics for the Pokemon fandom desu.
How would Teleport work in a realistic setting? Does the destination need to be the last Pokemon Center visited or can be anywhere inside a region?
>>57086516>FUCK IsekaiFuck you, anon. I do hate it when isekaied protags suddenly gain powers when they set foot in another world, though.
>>57086748What kind of power would a Faller from the Pokémon world gain upon isekaing to ours?
>>57086826None. Ours is a boring mundane world, so nothing.
>>57086271Traveler did as far as I remember, and the EToP manga has a friendship ending with bitch traveling together >>57086668>Reset Bloodlines and Ashes of the PastJust Reset, Ashes was good for its time and didn't try to take itself as serious as RB did with muh racism and harem shit >>57086826The power of nutrition, they will know what to eat to be super humans
>>57086826What’s the one thing we have they don’t? Guns. Little May steps out of the moving truck in Littleroot and finds herself in the middle of Detroit with a glock in her hands. Welcome to the wonderful world of guns, BITCH. Some choose to fight alongside them, others still simply collect them. But what’s important is that little May now has the aim and skill of a navy seal and she feels nothing when she pulls the trigger on a mothafucka.
>>57086724Anywhere the pokemon remembers well is what I usually see.
>>57085132Perhaps, but not enough to work their true magic. It's mentioned in the games that they need special, unique motors to do the transformation thing, and there's nothing that really suggests they're capable of cybermancy to the same extent as Porygon other than that Twilight Wings special.>Its electric-like body can enter some kinds of machines and take control in order to make mischief.>This Rotom has possessed a convection microwave oven that uses a special motor.>This Rotom has possessed a washing machine that uses a special motor. The Rotom phone & pokedex were each also special made to work with Rotoms>It's the next generation of Pokédexes, but it's only complete once Rotom has gone into this body specially developed for it!
>>57084800>back when it was a motor possessor>Rotomphones have been a disaster>Rotom needs a motor to possess, they actually think Rotom can simply possess any electronicWhat the fuck are you talking about? Rotom is specifically inhabiting a television in its very first appearance. I'll grant that a pokedex or phone inhabited by a Rotom dex is basically an AI computer and that this is kind of a stretch, but even if you call that a retcon (which I think is a stretch) it's from over a decade ago at this point. It's as canon as the Fairy type.
>>57087302It needs a special motor to do its thing tho. Being made of plasma gives it some natural ability to fuck with electronics but it can't just enter any regular device and turn it into a Rotom form
I just realized rotom is motor spelled backwards
>just realized Ekans is cum spelled backwards
>>57076142How very Shaun of you, anon.
>>57078482That's his special title in PokéSpe. Every Dex Holder has one special snowflake quality that is noticeably above the average joe's. Red's is battling.
>>57087302I totally forgot its first appearance was a poltergeist joke. It's funny that after that it was always required to use a special motor.
>>57087454You're gonna lose your mind when you hear about ekans.
>>57087955I'm new to VP and don't really keep up with name fag drama. Kinda curious now though.
>>57088044>VPBut Sh**n is a v*refag who shows up every 3-7 days, and has a hateboner for Cynthia.
Any fics with Mewtwo as a protag or hanging with a trainer? He's the coolest!
>>57088044If you're not bullshitting about being new, stick around. He's bound to show up before long and his posts are very conspicuous; can't miss 'em.
>>57088033>>57087454Speaking of spelling things backwards...
Bump
>>57088065>>57088244I took a break from 4chan for a while and came back, never really visited this board before but been in a pokemon mood. Gotta say, it sucks and my mood has been noticeably worse since I've been back. This thread has been one of the only good things causebI love world building discussions people have. Also neat. Admittedly the only stories I write are vore stuff. I wanna write non porn stories too but I am terminally horny.
>>57088101Not yet but that's the plan in a future arc for mine.
>>57088871>Gotta say, it sucks and my mood has been noticeably worse since I've been back. This thread has been one of the only good things causebI love world building discussions people have.I like to imagine /vp/ as a raunchy strip club, except there's this one booth in the far corner (writethreads) where rock stars come to hang out away from the paparazzi.
>>57088871Yeah, I came back after years because of my sudden obsession with Pokemon world building and fanfics. The hack threads were a nice bonus as well, but it's definitely lame how the rest of the board has such awful threads. I feel like anything vaguely interesting discussion-wise is immediately targeted and attempted to be torn down.
>>57089142>>57088871People say it's the board but honestly it's the same everywhere you go.People always say that "4chan has never been good" but it's been noticeably gotten worse and worse as time has gone for a plethora of reasons I really don't feel like getting into.Add to this how the internet has changed and how polarized and divided everything has become and how everyone always seems to be on edge. Tribalism and my side vs your side are at all time highs no matter the topic, there's no nuance or middle ground anymore anywhere, it's all 100 or 0.But most of all, and directly related to Pokemon as a whole, is that it's that we're closing in to a decade of games that have been divisive at best. Moods are extremely low since, there's been very little to uplift people as a whole, a something that everyone can go "yeah, that was fine", there's always a but and an if, and after nearly a decade of this, it's no surprise people are exhausted and in low spirits and completely fatigued. And leaving the franchise for a while to then return does nothing to alleviate this since you'll still be returning to something mediocre at best. The environments are in all varying degrees of damaged and unhealthy, and so is the franchise, it's no surprise everything sucks and everyone feels sucky. And even if you try to be positive, try to ignore the bad and focus on the good, it's really really hard when there's that cloud lingering over the top of our heads and so many people always trying to drag you down to their level.

>>57073006Player's pokemon can tank super effective move, get random star boost and even dough attack in some Pokémon game like LGPE and XY. What if we turn it into a special ability that a trainer can develop? Basically like how Gundam protagonist develops space magic.
>>57089872>>57089142>>57089024Shit's rough, but we gotta just keep trying to be the best we can be. Let's lighten the mood a bit. Been thinking of doing a story with a professor as the protagonist. Been trying to think of what a good field of expertise for him to have but I've been debating what it should be. Wasn't sure if I should just not worry about doubling up on Elm's specialty and have him study pokemon breeding since he funds his research that way or if I should come up with a different thing for him to study. What are some niche or broad specialties for a professor to be an expert in?
>>57092022I feel like I've seen this exact post before.>What if we turn it into a special ability that a trainer can developWhat do you mean "we"? Do it yourself. Actually, no. Your grammar is awful. I've never suggested this before, but you should probably have an AI write it for you. They'd do a better job.
>>57092048Why make it a full professor? Why not an undergrad and his woes in getting published? Alternatively, he's studying deeper into the mutations of Pokemon breeding. Egg moves, M. Method, etc.
>>57092022>space magicThat's just psychic powers and ME
>>57092022This just gave me a stupid idea.>pokemon types are literally a magic element of the universe that pokemon tap into>some are easily quantified like fire or water, others more abstract like aura/fighting spirit or negative/ghostly>humans have been shown to be able to access these elements in limited ways like aura or psychic powers>humans have a possible ancenstral lineage connected to pokemon>humans actualy are able to inspire almost supernatural abilities in pokemon with their presence like being able to dodge better, surviving attacks that thry shouldnt, or magically curing thrmselves of status>its possible that this is due to an undiscovered type that only humans possessAnd thus the Human type was born.
>>57092062I wanna write a story about an older character who is trying to settle down after his adventures but gets drawn back into stuff.
>>57092093Sounds like my whore ex-girlfriend amirite?
I do not think guns break the setting compared to fucking your Pokémon without losing your dick or Poppy
>>57093958Hooowwweeee, pardner!

>>57095660>Clembot has been arrestedAre evil Pokémon arrested too?
Are low mobility pokemon like Lapras and Primarina just not viable in realistic combat? I guess you could say they move around with surf like abilities, but that sounds like a high level, exhausting use of an ability that could be an actual attack.
>>57097345Other way around buddy. Anything without bulk is relegated to the little leagues. If your monster isn't a monster then it aint winning shit, sorry to say.
>>57073050The only Pokemon Center in the entire franchise that charges a fee is the one that's run by criminals btw
are pokegirls written sexier with or without the cock
>>57098413The cock doesn't matter so long as they keep their pokemon forms, fur and all.
>>57095815I don't see why they wouldn't? They're perfectly sapient beings capable of doing wrong. The fact that you can describe them as Evil implies they're capable of moral reasoning.
>>57086516I don't really mind isekai,it's basically just OC with foreknowledge ,on the flip side ,I have yet to see a good betrayed story, most of the time they have some really unreasonable reason for the betrayal that has people be realty OOC.
