You better spend money whaleboi
That's why the game only counts regular cards toward completion. Most of the really pain-in-the-ass cards to get are just regular cards with prettier art that don't appear on your set collection total.
The only cards that are "difficult" to obtain are 3-diamond cards that aren't available as full arts.If you care about individual versions, 4-diamond cards and crown rares are also a hassle. But crown rares are ugly.>>57139755Almost everyone who was playing since launch got the Genetic Apex Mew before Mythical Island launched.>>57139765You can get a 1-star or 2-star card every 2 days by cheesing the friend system.
>>57139755If you still chose to play gachas at this point its on you.
>>57139765I don't care about special art cards, only about gameplay. It's still hard to get 2 copies of some ex Pokemon.
>>57139755I have enough pack points to get mew as f2p tf is this image talking about
>>57139755Alright who bought it anyway?
>>57139755But getting the regular 226 cards is easy.
>>57139755Once more, Pokémon’s model of >game pieces are dirt cheap>fancy, shiny versions will cost you out the assIs working perfectly. I see no issue with anything here, except for maybe the click and rage bait of the article title
>>57139755How did they arrive at "2 years"? Does it take 2 years worth of f2p Genetic Apex pack points in order to "pity" buy the necessary cards? That's the only way this makes any sense.
>>57140122hey, they put gardewife in the shop and my dick did the deciding. you can't blame a man for that can you?
>>57140122>outperforming Pokemon SleepIMAGINE being a Pokemon Sleep whale
>>57139755>being a luckletlmao
>>57140149you dont need the 226 for mew you just one of each kanto mon of any rarity ex mons also count towards the kanto dex completion
>>57140232You need one of every diamond card to get the pack icons.
gacha games are the most jewish shit invented, really reflects the state of society since the NWO accelerated during convid
>>57139765I care more about getting duplicates of cards I use to unlock their flairs than I do about completing collections.
>>57140464shout into the void "STOP PLAYING GACHA GAMES YOU FUCKING RETARDED INCEST RAPEBABIES"
>>57139755Good
>>57139755I am almost done.Haven't spent a cent.
>>57139755i just built a venusaur deck and doing some random casual battles while unlocking stuff.magine wasting money hoarding virtual worthless cards
>>57139755I haven't spent a cent and completed it three weeks ago
>>57139755Nobody needs to complete a set you just need a few different decks to have fun. If you spend money in Madden or FIFA or some team building mode, you get better cards than the free to play guys and have an advantage when you play them..In pocket, the 4 diamond ex cards do exactly the same in-game as the crown rares and the full arts. If you go 2nd you will beat a whale most of the time. He doesn't have any advantage for spending money, just different art.
>>57139755lol I initially read this as it takes the dev team 2 years to create a new set if enough people don't spend money
>>57139755Why would you play ANY official release of ANY card game franchise and expect anything but a paypig moneypit? Card games have existed for decades and they're all like this every time. Just stop playing them if you don't like it, that's what I did
>>57140122That's old news
>>57143681if this was normal they would go out of business
>>57144054It's definitely normal to be able to complete the set at this point with just the packs they give you, but it's also very normal that there are a lot of people who want to complete the set day 1. There are also streamers and their dumb viewers that just pull the packs to post on discord and brag on day 1, etc.
>>57144054Not him, but it's very normal. It's incredibly easy to (and common) to be able to build every meta deck and to have all of the cards that actually matter. This is a very common f2p experience. I genuinely don't understand how it's supposed to take 2 years to collect all of the cards, unless that's how long it takes to gather all the pack points, or unless they are factoring in how long it would take to get all of the things like Crown Rares. There are several different rarities of the same cards. Higher rarities don't do anything different than the lower rarity versions of the same card, they just look more gaudy.
>>57139755this is a lie
>>57144390Gaming "news" has had nothing to do with gaming for like the past decade at least.
>>57143982Updated my journal.Congrats to the 20 people in this thread who spent nothing, You are the only people to do so.
>>57139755This is why I will never touch TCG Pocket out of sheer principle. I couldn't imagine being the type of faggot to actually spend money on digital cards that are all just gonna go away as soon as they pull the plug on the app. Honestly, what might even be a better option is investing in high quality cardstock or whatever, and printing scans of the digital exclusive cards to own physically after the app shuts down, because you know they aren't gonna print em officially. You can get printable scans of all the cards pretty easily, and for the immersion cards literally just watch a youtube video. There's no difference, the visuals are completely the same whether it's recorded and posted online or you actually flushed your money down the toilet for it. TCG Pocket is a game for smooth brained retards which fortunately for The Pokemon Company, is a wide portion of their audience.
It's a fun app but I would never pay for an online only game that I will never own.
Reminder that the IGN clickbait ragebait article in OP is not an accurate representation of anything.
>>57139755I prefer pocket, waifus and some pokemon cards are too expensive in my shithole unlike muttistan and I cannot get them
>>57145142>IGN shitting on something Nintendo related againThey seem to have become particularly asshurt in the past couple of months for whatever reason
>>57139755These journos are retarded. This is actually one of the less predatory mobile games I've played, because they actually make the playable set pretty reasonable to obtain. The only super rare cards that you pretty much have to spend or get really lucky for are just prettier arts (and even that's debatable, I think the crown rares look like shit) but the same cards as the lower rarity versions. And trading is still "Coming soon" so unless that system is terribly implemented it'll hopefully be very easy to trade extra dupes for stuff you need and the playable set will be very free without spending anything.
>>57139755I already did
>>57140084There's a special Mew you get for getting a card of every Kanto Pokemon.
>>57146845I believe that's what he's referring to. I can also get that mew if I spend my pack points on getting mew rather than on duplicates of pokemon that you can actually use in a deck. It's really not a difficult achievement if you're f2p. I haven't even been playing since day 1, and there's people who have been playing even longer because of some "soft launch" New Zealand shit.
