how would you make a sound type with sound types moves and which pokemon?
>>
I wouldn't. Sound is better off as a move property.
>>
>Strong Against
Psychic (Difficult to concentrate)
Dark (Dispelling Darkness/Evil)
Fairy (Disrupting their nature)
>Weak Against
Water (Difficulty traveling)
Flying (Disperse easily)
Ground (Muffled)
Steel (Blocks sound waves)

Potentials Rock/Strong (Solid surface), Ice/Strong (Travels fast through it), Poison/Weak (Same reason as Water/Flying). Lets not nerf Ice more however.

>Moves
Growl, Alluring Voice, Boomburst, Chatter, Sing, Supersonic, Noble Roar, Uproar, Disarming Voice, Hyper Voice, etc. including new ones.
>Pokemon
Jigglepuff line
Exploud Line
Chimecho Line
Kricketune Line
Noivern Line
Golbat Line
Swoobat Line
Chatot
Arceus Plate
Type: Null
Kommo-o Line
Meloetta
Toxtricity Line
Plus any new ones
>>
>>57160447
>Kommo-o Line
why?
>>
>>57160484
you're retarded
>>
>>57160447
>no audino
>no tympole line
>>
>>57160484
One of it's primary dex entries and lore is that it jingles and clatters it's scales to unnerve opponents. It's basically just a big wind chime dragon.
>>
>>57160487
I'd add them too, along with Politoed, and so on. There's a lot you could do with Sound Type that could shake things up, but there's also a limit to how much I'm willing to exactly type out at 5:30am.
>>
>>57160447
>making water and ground better
kys kys kys
>>
>>57160495
Types still have to make some sense with what they are. Fairy may have been added for balance, but it's typing still make sense for what it is. Sound would have to be the exact same way.

However sure, you can argue at least in the case with Water that it can travel through it, but it travels through Ground far less effectively. You could potentially add Bug to the strength level and the justification be that they're used to being loud assholes all the time. Sound would be a hard type to balance properly without breaking other potential types/lines as well.
>>
>>57160485
I'm not retarded, I didn't knew about this >>57160491
thank you
>>
>>57160502
insect/sound must be a powerful combo/pokemon
>>
>>57160521
Realistically it probably would be, which is why it'd probably be reserved for a Legendary or really specific things like Kricketune who don't have the greatest stats in the world.
>>
>>57160528
I was thinking of flygon but it's already a double type
>>
>>57160543
I mean some of the ones I listed are dual-type as well and would have to be reworked into a new type. Wouldn't be far off to rework Flygon with a new type honestly.
>>
>>57160447
>Water (Difficulty traveling
>Steel (Blocks sound waves)

Literally the oposite, sound traves better in liquids and metals because molecules are closer to each other and thus waves can move faster. ANd Ice should resist sound, snow is a very good sound dampner.
>>
>>57160403
I wouldn't.
>>
Do we really need another type? They've covered everything that can be covered.
>>
>>57160684
yes...YES
>>
>>57160553
nowadays theyd just make a regional form anyway
>>
>>57160684
ngl, even if it's just for the novelty, so we can skip the "generational gimmk" shit
>>
>>57160403
Remove Sound (cringe) and replace it with Regal (based).
Or any type really. Sound is fucking stupid conceptually.
>>
Space type is the thinking man's type
>>
>>57160403
It's impossible to turn Sound into an actual type considering how you can't have any physical Sound attacks.
I remember that Xenoverse fangame which made Sound an actual type and turned Extreme Speed into a Sound type move, regardless of how little sense that makes.
>>
>>57161401
It would be bullshit but not much more than physical psychic moves or special fighting moves. Like, what's a psychic headbutt? A headbutt but you were calm while doing it? It doesn't make sense. But they just needed a physical psychic move, so that's what they went with. It's just gonna be some generic shit like sonic strike
>>
>>57161767
>>57161401
I'm ok with physic and non-physics moves but gamefreak mess it up now we have physical psychic moves...so why can't we get sound physical or non-physical moves?
>>
>>57160629
NTA, but sound travels through Ice faster than it does water.
>>
>>57160403
More like sounding type lol
>>
>>57162036
Because Ice is a solid, obviously. But since the Ice type is more about cold than ice itself, I think it's more fair to make this one interpretation.
>>
>>57161401
You can make physical moves. Just do some shit like 'Vibrating Tackle' or 'Soundquake'. Sure they sound dumb as fuck, but it'd work just fine, plenty of other shit sounds stupid as hell after all.

Fun fact, there are more Sound type based moves in name than there are Dragon and Rock type moves.
>>
>>57162052
Oh of course, but I don't mind the way anon did his little type tree. Granted he left out resists/immunity. I think a proper Sound or Stellar Type (would need heavy reworks here) could work just fine though with some tweaking.
>>
>>57160403
cringe
>>
>>57162055
>there are more Sound type based moves in name than there are Dragon and Rock type moves.
how much 'technically sound' move is there?
>>
>>57162088
31 if we're not including stuff like Kommo-o's Z-Move or Shadow Panic from XD for instance. Which is more than Rock (24), Dragon (27), Ice (30), Flying/Ground (31). Now this has changed somewhat with the new moves as of SV, but the fact that there are that many and stuff like Soundproof and such, I think says a lot.
>>
>>57162099
>I think says a lot.
we definitivly need a sound type. they're pandering it since day one. sound moves have nothing go do in normal moves same for pokemon that obviously made sound looking pokemon in mind. like if sound type exist, it would mean at least 30 or more pokémon sound, thats a lot
>>
>>57162116
I feel like they've been tempted to for probably in development at some point, but held off on it due to balance issues, and by the time Fairy came around it just didn't make sense to nerf Dragon using Sound at the time. I feel like Sound is probably going to be reserved for when they need to shake the meta up or have run out of gimmick ideas and things need to be rebalanced. But hell for all I know they'll come up with some random type like Light or Ki/Chi/Energy Type or something completely fucking random.
>>
>>57162134
yeah I agree, we'll get some galaxy/universe/space type totally random things over sound tyme
>>
>>57160403
Don't make it a type. Simply expand upon the already existing sound based properties/moves/abilities.
New ability-Amplify-Boosts power of all sound based moves by 30%.
You can even use vibrations (sound) as moves.
Sound based ground type move like Earthquake.
Sound based flying type moves obviously
etc etc
I used to think the same, but it doesn't need a type. However, Sound type WILL happen before Light or Cosmic type ever happens.
They might even make digital type before these though.
>>
>>57160403

On the whole this isn't a very good idea because it strips Normal of a lot of useful Special Moves, but for the sake of argument:

Sound type does double duty as describing the physical behavior of sound waves as well as the concept of music and speech in general. As a new type it should also make sense in the context of the existing type matrix which is as of the current gen pretty skewed:

>Super Effective against
Steel (metal resonates strongly with sound)
Water (sound waves travel extreme distances through water)
Dark (music soothes evil souls)

>Not Very Effective against
Fire (sound waves have no meaningful interaction with fire)
Flying (air is a poor carrier for sound)
Ice (extreme cold freezes resonators)

Imma be real that last one is mostly just to make Ice a slightly less awful defensive type

>Resists
Fairy (music is its own magic separate from fae shenanigans)
Ground (soundwaves travel through the ground)

>Weak against
Psychic (A clear mind pierces sound and fury)
Ghost (Creating eerie stillness)

The last part I'd add because I thought it would be fun if the classical foes of Psychic and Poison happened to be aligned against the same target.
>>
>>57162196
>digital type
Now I want it real, imagine porygon
>>
>>57162197
>Dark (music soothes evil souls)
but music can be dark and corrupt people, see the fairy tail 'Pied Piper of Hamelin', what do you think?
>>
>>57162253
Porygon line becoming a pure digital type would be cool. Other candidates I see are the voltrob line (electric/digital), the beeyem line (psychic/digital, and the klink-klang line, seeing it more from the machine presepective of the digital type (being steel/digital)
