Buddy, there hasn't been a single 3D Pokemon game that Game Freak's been involved with that hasn't been complete dog shit. Legends Arceus was innovative but the battle system was needlessly simplified. The speed revamp and move styles are great, but without abilities and held items it doesn't amount to much. ZA is gonna be shit just like the last decade plus' worth of Pokemon games.

TPC are irrelevant to the production of core Pokémon, beyond localising the scripts and handling the marketing for them while Game Freak make the things and Nintendo front the dev budget for them. And Nintendo order core Pokémon games to supplement their own in-house offerings and third party releases for the support of their consoles. Remember "likonime" was told to pull their neck in and not do an island chain as pokémon shangri-la, if they had the pull you assume they wouldn't have to bow to Game Freak wishes.

You know the team that made L: A most likely started pre-production on L: Z-A after they'd launched L: A, yeah? Ohmori and his team MAY have started Gen 10 in '22 as per normal, for a three year cycle, but it's also just as likely they took a year to bugger with the new devkit before going into their trad pre-production/production cycle. After all, Masuda took junior staff into their own wee team and made Let's Go in 17 months, which was as much as "let's fuck around with the devkit some more" as it was "we need to plan to abandon the 3DS soon-ish".
