Post your current team.

This is my latest Emerald Legacy team. Each mon has 7 letters in their name.

Shiftry got minor stat buffs and much needed grass moves by level up. Weezing got an HP buff, learns a lot of moves earlier and learns Amnesia and Pain Split by level up but I prefer going boom. Swellow learns an improved Sky Attack at level 55 but I beat the league before I could learn it.

It was nice being able to use Kingdra. You can catch Horsea with an Old Rod at Route 106. I used Thief until I got a Dragon Scale, which evolves Seadra like a stone now.

Armaldo learns several moves earlier and gets Swords Dance and a buffed Twineedle. Machamp just learns moves earlier. Machoke will now evolve at level 38.

I did a quick snek playthrough of vanilla Crystal for the year of the snake. This is what I went into the E4 with. Everyone was helpful, even Onix
>>
>>57187303
Onix having good bulk is fairly fine for regular playthroughs, many fail to consider.

Current team for Leaf Green - I was mostly just wanting to fool around and sequence break to get Articuno ASAP, skipped surge and just beat Koga.

Not sure if I want to continue this like a regular playthrough or just blast through the rest with a legendary yet. This would be more fun on gen 1 too since Articuno just starts off with Ice Beam and Blizzard in it.

>>57187332
yeah and with stat xp + badge boost it actually outspeeds most things. if it had access to rock slide it'd actually be pretty damn solid (heh)

Yeah Onix is based.

playing thru crystal clear for the first time. probably gonna drop noctowl for some cooler flyer, any suggestions

jumpluff is also phenomenal utility, never used it before in any game.
>>
>>57187418
I was interested in Crystal Clear but the latest build I saw of it added a bunch of trainer OCs for the Elite 4. Is there a version without that?
>>
>>57187418
Skarmory
>>
>>57187480
I assume, I haven't encountered that stuff (but I am just about to, I just got my 8th badge) but I guess one of the previous versions would. I think its cool enough playing in its own right with the secret areas and new content added, makes the regions feel fun to explore.

>jumpluff is also phenomenal utility
Yeah Jumpluff is great. I used them in my last gen 2 run.
Picrel was my elite 4 run, everything level 40 except level 55 dragonite I saved as my ace for Lance.

By the end everything but Magneton and Jumpluff gained some levels, but Jumpluff was the unspoken MVP spreading seeds and PAR every fight.
>>
I was thinking of starting a HGSS playthrough but I can't decide what version to pick cause of the exclusive mon, I like every one offered.
>>
>>57188455
It's a question if you want the weak fire type with the amazing moves, or the strong fire type with the weak moves.
I also always felt like Ho-Oh was end-boss appropriate far as it goes for legendaries, so if you have that notion you could keep that in mind for either pre elite 4, or pre-Red when its coolest to catch him.
>>
>>57188455
>Silver has Skarmory
>Gold has Gliscor
Just cheat in the one that you want into the other version.

Take >>57188795 advice, I wanted to use Mismagius and Honchrow in mine and having to wait until post-game for "region purity" wasn't on my I have time for that list.

Not everyone has multi copies or PK hex keep in mind.
But I did something similar. I wanted to play with a team full of mon I haven't used before including Swinub and Xatu, but I didn't want to wait until late / mid game so I just PKhexxed them in.
>>
>>57189035
>Not everyone has multi copies or PK hex keep in mind.
I just assume everyone is emulating things. Even if you own the game and the hardware, it's easier to play on your computer than on a little screen on a handheld.

This thread lasted long enough for me to do a second 7 letter team run in Emerald Legacy (fast forward is a godsend). This team was a lot of fun.

>Solrock (+20 Speed, +10 Sp.Attack)
It can actually take advantage of Rock Slide flinches now. Tons of new level up moves, my favorite is Will-O-Wisp.

>Exploud (+10 HP, Attack, Defense, Sp.Defense)
Physical Bite/Crunch is a nice inclusion as well as the buffed Hyper Voice (100 power, 30% confusion) that you get at level 40 instead of 63.

>Altaria
Air Cutter right away makes it easier to raise. Featherdance is a great new move. It learns the improved Sky Attack at only 49 now so I actually got to use it in the League.

>Sneasel (+35 Sp.Attack)
Physical dark STAB and usable ice STAB make it a great revenge killer. You can catch one in Route 113 where the soot is.

>Golduck
It actually learns Psychic by level up.

>Breloom
It can learn Spore at level 59 (46 as Shroomish). I beat the League before it happened.

Also, in Legacy, Brawly has three different teams depending on whether you fight him 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. I went out of my way to fight him 4th because it was doable with this team. Breloom made Wattson my bitch and I had a team of 5 for Flannery. Wattson is normally an asshole if you don't have a Breloom. If you were doing a Nuzlocke, he would end your run 9 times out of 10.
>>
>>57187418
Must only be in earlier gens. I used a jumpluff in platinum and it was hot garbage
>>
Still in Violet City cause I'm playing other games or doing other shit. Haven't fought Falkner yet but I'm catching more mon, funnily enough I'm having decision paralysis on what Unown form to get.

You can also trade between cartridge and emulator if you use the fan wifi server, just download a completed save file off pporg for your trading supply

Playing White now, and im trying to level my team a little more to challenge the Unova Elite 4+Champ.
I choose White over Black, but I really wanted a Mandibuzz, so I got a Vullaby im trying to level up. Other options would replace the Vullaby to my Pawniard or Swanna.
What do you think? Should I go right to the league, or level a little more by Audino genocide? Any MT recommended moves or strategies to know?
>>
>>57195796
Mandibuzz is the cooler Dark type/bird so you should commit. 5/6 team overall. Good to see Conk. I don’t have much for strats but Coil Serperior is fun.

>>
>>57187288
Recently played through Emerald legacy myself.

Cradily is my GOAT
Skarm was just here to fill some holes in my team I had at the time and I just let it stick around
I accidentally made a great Doubles utility mon out of Delcatty thanks to Fake Out+Encore
Plusle having 105 SpA and 95 Speed was funny for something you could pick up after getting your first badge
Milotic was alright and in the process of getting it I discovered you had to boost multiple contest stats to get the most points in the first part.
SD Absol mauled 3/4 Elite Four battles since Dark type is physical in this hack and anything that resisted Crunch still ate dirt from coverage Aerial Ace and Rock Smash.
