They could literally just swap the region name and remix different battle music and they could've said it took place in Johto or Sinnoh, or any region. Hell, blueberry academy could've literally just been off the coast of Paldea or something but they chose Unova specifically only to do basically nothing with it. Galar was teased in USUM by having Gmax Toxtricity on a poster in GF's in-game office, Alola was teased in XY and ORAS through the Strange Souvenir, and Naranja and Uva Academies were teased in Galar through the oranges and grapes on the wallpaper in the hotel Game Freak's office was hosted in. They're very clearly priming the audience for Unova related content.
