It's going to be a HG hack with open world (meaning no Hm obstacles and beating gyms in any order) new areas, lots of trades with npc's (that can affect their teams and many more things that will increase believability of the world.

Still brilliant writing though. Definitely worth looking to for inspiration for good video game writing. I'd also recommend Planescape:Torment and Baldur's Gate 2 for good dialogue inspiration. Maybe even Pillars of Eternity, though it gets some hate on /v/.

I'm check out those other games, this has definitely given me a craving for more well written rpgs. it's funny, I criticize the plot of games like SM on here and get told I just don't like to read, but I've been sucked into disco elysium which is literally all reading. it makes a huge difference when the writing is actually, you know, good.
