But eventually they get a rare card and it gives them a kind of feeling. Subsequent openings just don't hit the same way unless they see that chase card. So they keep buying packs to chase that high. It affects some people more than others. Maybe you can buy a pack and enjoy all the cards in it and that's that. Some people can lose $500 in Vegas and some people can have a couple of drinks every now and then. Some people can't. Gambling is like a software exploit for humans. The casinos and TPC and gacha games are designed to exploit a relic from a time when taking risks meant you got to fuck or eat.

Pokemon should just collapse the market by printing Moonbreons as pack in promos, indistinguishable from all other Moonbreons. Completely crash the values on key cards, make them purchasable for like $5 on pokemon center. They have to get rid of the investors, they need to make moves that make it not safe
