Weird shit that (probably) only you do:

>I have never released a single Pokémon and never could.

>I pick the same starter for a region each time that I'm given the choice (in remakes, other copies, etc.) instead of trying out other ones because I feel that that starter is "my" starter.

>I refused to use mega evolutions just because I thought they were dumb except for the unskippable tutorial in XY, during which I tried to fish for a critical hit for a while to skip past the fight, but I eventually got sick of it and just did it once to get it over with.

>I always name my character the same thing and think of him as the same person in every game, travelling through time and space in some weird neverending Alice in Wonderland scenario.

>Back in 2007 and 2008, I would name spare Pokémon after random CoD YouTubers and it's a hell of a time capsule now.

>I trained up a bunch of Pokémon that were good for the Gen 4 / Gen 5 meta, but I never got to use them much back then, so now I'm determined to keep transferring them with me and keep trying to make them good in new metas.

>I try to make random off-meta combinations work just because they sound cool on paper (like Sap Sipper Zebstrika + a Petal Blizzard user in double battles).

Any Eeveelution I use, I always teach Shadow Ball to, regardless of how good it'd be

When I had zero GBA JRPGs other than pokémon as a kid, when I was bored I used to go through all of Hoenn's towns on foot in one sitting because I enjoyed it and I got used to having no mon in my party that had Fly. Now Hoenn is the only region I almost know the whole layout of by memory.

Not weird, that's one of the few solid coverage moves they all learn.
>>
>>57230893
it's weird on the ones who hardly have any special attack stat

>>57230850
i did the same thing on bw1 with the walk through walls cheat lol
>>
>>57230926
Yeah, Flareon and Leafeon definitely not about that life.

I just first did it since GS. You get Eevee right around the time you get Shadow Ball TM and he needs coverage. Now I can't picture one not being able to use it

Flareon has decent SpA and used to run it as its only real coverage outside of HP in older gens

>the walk through walls cheat
is that an in-game glitch?
or some out-of-game action replay thing?

welcome back, my 11 year old self's flareon set

/vp/ posters don't ACTUALLY release pokemon, do they?
>>
>>57232632
I only do when I'm breeding and have boxes full of hatched Pokemon. oh, and in PLA cause you have pretty limited space compared to the number of Pokemon you need to catch.

Allcaps nicknames. Everything gets a nickname even if its just box/dexwarmers.

It was weird to have normal case names pre-g5 so kid me would allcaps nicks to match.
Since then its weird to me to have normal case names for my own mons so I keep doing it.

I used to not nickname specifically legendaries because it felt like they were too "above" the protag. Like something you'd respect and travel with but eventually have to release because they serve a greater purpose.
Some of that still lingers, but I still typically nickname them these days since pokemon isn't as immersive as it used to be

i do this and tell myself i'll use them in a battle facility or one day play online with the fan servers, but never do

every team i make has got to have some kind of theme to it; can't just use a collection of pokemon i like. usually it starts with a single pokemon i like and then i'll proceed to have every other pokemon on the team be linked to them one way or another. starters very rarely make it to the end of the game
clefable is my favourite pokemon - been making "moon teams" in every generation i can.
>registeel? oh well i've GOTTA have the other two, and why stop there? lets make an ancient team.
>gallade? "swords" team.
sometimes i wish i could put together a nice, simple team with a starter and pokemon i like that just so happen to be able to carry HMs, but i cant help but go the extra mile
