Why would you use Dragon Dance and then Dragon Tail? It makes no sense. Would he have been too difficult if his Haxorus knew Dragon Dance and Dragon Claw?
>>57232745If I had to guess, since Dragon Tail was introduced in generation 5, then it's probably a case of the developer who coded that move not telling the developers in charge of giving movesets to opposing pokemonAlso this is a lategame gym why the fuck are the strongest STAB moves 60 BPWhy is there fucking ASSURANCE on a Haxorus, and Dragon Rage on a level 41 mon
>>57232745idk if it's genwarring or a genuine question but yeah, it wasn't the ideal combo>Would he have been too difficult if his Haxorus knew Dragon Dance and Dragon Claw?nah, also we're talking about the eight gym
>>57232745Needs sneaky pebbles or spikes to go with that dragon tail.
>Fraxure AND Haxorus
>>57232755it's the eighth and final gym, the teams should be goodgyms are canonically meant to be tests of trainer skill, especially later on>>57232758>official games>expecting basic and obvious move synergies to be on opposing teamshownew.ru
>>57232767what other unova dragons should he be using? hydreigon?
>>57232745>Beef up Attack>Do increased damage with a move that rotates your mons and not allowing them to set up at all
>>57232771That's one of the 3 dragon type lines in the Unova dex, excluding legendariesBut honestly a dragon gym with Druddigon/Haxorus/Hydreigon could go hardbesides the Dragon type's identity/main selling point is powerful high BST monsters, it's perfectly fitting for the dragon gym to have multiple strong pokemon >>57232786Dragon Tail forces the enemy to switch, not the userAlso dragon tail has lowered priority so it has anti-synergy with Dragon Dance's speed boost
>>57232745Maybe play the fucking game??? Dragon Tail forces the enemy to switch, not the Gym leader's Pokémon. Dumbass.
>>57232898Dragon Tail also has -6 priority. Meaning the speed boost Fraxure gets from Dragon Dance is meaningless, the player gets to move twice no matter what. Two Ice Beams and Fraxure is out.
>>57232898Maybe YOU should play the game first, retardo. The idea of Dragon Dancing only to rely primarily on Dragon Tail as your hardest hitting move is an absurd concept since one of the main draws of DDance, the speed boost, can't apply due to Dragon Tail's -6 Priority, which basically means it'll ALWAYS go last no matter how fast it is, unless you're using a slower Pokemon using its own "force the enemy to switch out" move.
>>57232865>Dragon Tail forces the enemy to switch, not the userExactly, the enemy can't set up anything of their own if they keep getting switched out plus DD enables it to do extra damage.>Also dragon tail has lowered priority so it has anti-synergy with Dragon Dance's speed boostDragon Tail is just there to shill the new Gen 5 dragon type move (which Drayden is also giving to you) and to surprise the player when they get switched out after getting hit. DD is just there to boost Haxorus' speed for Slash and Assurance and also increase Dragon Tail's power too. Sure it would make more sense for it to have Dragon Claw but they really wanted to show off that new move and TM ace without having two Dragon STABs on the same mon for "variety".
>>57233027>Exactly, the enemy can't set up anything of their ownWhy would I set up instead of just OHKOing the Haxorus using a shitty -6 priority move? Are you retarded?>Dragon Tail is just there to shill the new Gen 5 dragon type moveand in the process they made one of the shittiest gym leaders in existence
>>57233034>Why would I set up instead of just OHKOing the Haxorus using a shitty -6 priority move? Are you retarded?Because you might get taken out by +1 boosted Slash/Assurance instead (especially anyone who doesn't yet know it has Dragon Tail). So players might try to beef up their speed/defenses to overcome the DD boost but then get Dragon Tailed out.
>>57233092>Because you might get taken out by +1 boosted Slash/Assurance insteadSo instead of actually doing damage I should waste a turn setting up just to die anyway? Again, are you retarded?
>>57232745I don't mind Haxorus having Dragon Tail. I guess it's kind of neat his whole team runs Dragon Tail. He really should have had Dragon Claw over Slash, at least..
>>57233105>So instead of actually doing damage I should waste a turn setting up just to die anyway? Again, are you retarded?>especially anyone who doesn't yet know it has Dragon TailLearn to read faggot
Why are /vp/ users so obsessed with shit? Not even some kind of joke or shitpost, why does everyone wanna call everything shit?
>>57233118>wow I damaged haxorus and it spent a turn setting up to +1>should I damage it again to KO it or should I try setting up for literally no reason?>XY is too easy even for pokemon btw
>>57233142>Player thinks it might DD again to get to +2 so they set up themselves>They manage to go first somehow and are happy to get in a boost>They get Dragon Tailed out
>>57233162There's no reason to boost yourself when there's a chance a mon is going to DD to +2 especially when they're already damaged. Plus players are just going to hit the attack button everytime, 10 year old kids aren't competitive players with all these strategies in mind.
>>57232745Dragon Tail is just there to shill the TM that he givesDragon dance is for slash and assurance
>acting as if Game Freak weren't keenly aware just how many retard kids they'd filtered in Gen 4
>>57233136They built the games into some epic tits-hard 500 hour quest in their memories, only to revisit them with the veil removed to find they really were just retard-tier kid's games.
>>57232771Charizard.
>>57233432>Dragon dance is for slash and assuranceStill pretty stupid since Assurance doubles its damage if used after taking damage.
