What's the best game objectively?
Like if you gave one of each Pokémon game to a rando who has never touched the series, which one do you think they'd like the most?

These are arguably different questions. The objectively best game is not necessarily the most newbie friendly one.
Honestly, I would give a complete rando Let’s Go. They’re easy to understand, focus more on the collecting aspect, don’t suffer from later gens oversized dex, and are full of the more recognizable Pokemon. If I knew this rando played JRPGs but had never touched Pokemon, I’d probably suggest Colosseum instead.

It depends on what you're most interested in.
Gameplay/Exploration? Emerald and Platinum by far
Story/Characters? BW by far (maybe SM too)
Something light to relax a bit in a beautiful region? XY by far
Something different if you're already familiar with the traditional titles? PLA by far
>>
>>57235560
ultra sun and moon

On a first playthrough they won't mind the cutscenes
>>
Probably New Snap
>>
>>57235577
wait till someone has called Gen V bad before you start throwing that around
>>
>>57236107
this

it has the most complete dex that makes it objectively the best pokemon game

plus lillie and other cunnys
>>
platinum or hgss
>>
>>57236279
>it has the most slop out of any pokemon game
not a good look desu
>>
>>57235560
this is a loaded question because the order of games and how many one has played really matters, as well as the age of the subject

zoomers and aoomers will hate static sprite games no matter what

I think ANY random person, no circumstances, very first Pokemon game ever, would be Pokemon XY for maximal enjoyment

XY has the least bullshit, the most features, and the most accessibility of all the games you could offer them. LGPE maybe but I have never played that.
>>
If everything's subjective, why are some games always seen as great and others not? Like, many will say Mario 64 is a masterpiece while Pokémon Rumble U sucks, but what if i find Rumble U more fun? Maybe critics' tastes influence their reviews, and the internet just repeats it. Objectivity is stating facts like "the game runs smoothly, lasts X hours" not ridiculing something right away. This may be where the search for objectivity in this art comes from

>zoomers
Zoomers grew up with the GBA and NDS, you retard. Static sprites and the ugly looping animations are all they had.

It’s Pokémon XD by a long shot, it has a lot of charm while having the right amount of difficulty for someone new to video games.
Colosseum is better suited for people already fans of the franchise, people new to video games might find it alittle unfair in difficulty
Explorers of Sky’s gameplay is more niche and the intensity of dialogue will be a turn off to a lot of new players
HGSS is too obtuse in directing the player to their next objective, people new to video games will get lost and frustrated atleast once.
Any other game isn’t worth considering as the best starting game, though I am also assuming the new player has enough to patience to sit down for 10 minutes to learn how to use an emulator.

All the spin-off games must have sore cocks with how much Delslutty sucks them off
>>
>>57236415
You have a lot of based takes, it’s such a shame you’re a nazi other than that you seem pretty chill
>>
>>57235560
As always, it depends on how much they can stand old games.
Zoomer who hates anything 2D? Whatever the newest games are
Got into pokemon from Go? LGPE
Willing to try something older? FRLG, though RB has its merits
The best start to a series is usually the actual start

SM
>Like if you gave one of each Pokémon game to a rando who has never touched the series, which one do you think they'd like the most?
PLA if we count spinoff and SV if we don't.

Nostalgia tells Enerald and Platinum. My favorite vanilla games in terms of designs, regions, music, etc.

Brain tells me B2W2. It’s probably the most polished 2D game, and has enough QoL without the soullessness of later gens.
>>
>>57236271
Gen V good
>>
>>57236578
>It’s probably the most polished 2D game
yeah, nothing says “most polished 2D game” like 90% of the game being low poly 3D models, inconsistently scaled rushed animated sprites, nonsensically missing features, and difficulty modes that don’t actually work
>>
>>57236899
They do work though. Aside from the stats being a little off, it works as intended.

>What's the best game objectively
No right answer to this question
>>
>>57235560
Imagine if someone gave you all the madden games to play and that it's very important to choose your favorite. However you'd react is probably how they'd react
>>
>>57236578
Seconding BW2, but honestly any of those three are solid picks

>>57235560
I dont think /vp/ is capable of providing a true answer to that. To truly find an objective answer, you'd have to play every game probably a dozen times and do everything.
>>
>>57237433
Imagine if someone gave you all the kirby/mario/megaman games to play and that it's very important to choose your favorite. However you'd react is probably how they'd react
>>
>>57235560
Pokémon was never good
>>
>>57238787
I'm in the process of doing that. Up to BW right now. Hate how I can't properly access Dream World, though I can always save those for later.
