Shoutouts to the Elite Redux anon who was upset about them taking away Spike Cannon from Kabutops in the latest update. The thread died, but I wanted to say thanks for telling me about the move changing feature in Debug Mode, totally forgot that was a thing. Fuck the priority abuse nerfs, Perfection + Rock Blast & Spike Cannon is based.

Kabutops should have gotten Sharpness as an ability in gen 9, it has literal scythes for hands similar to Scyther and it would have made Aqua Cutter hit like a fucking truck, give it Stone Axe as a move too and congrats, you have a solid and incredibly dangerous albeit rather slow sweeper that also has baked in utility.
Even ignoring competitive viability, it's such a fantastic design all around, I hate that Gamefreak refuses to even allow players to use the fossils in recent games.

Elite Emerald Redux buffs all Pokemon in the form of giving them multiple abilities. They used to get a bunch of new moves, but the Wigglytuff tranny did a movepool review and now you have weird edge cases where a Pokemon lost moves that it has in the fucking base game. Some Pokemon also just straight up got buffed stats too, like Reuniclus (can be a phys or mixed attack) and Pyukumuku (600 BST, 100 hp, 200/200 def/spdef)

Omastar gets Acceleration (2 turn moves only take 1 turn) and Meteor Beam. Kabutops has a Perfectionist (<51 bp: +1 crit rate, <26 bp: +1 prio) set with Pin Missile and Rock Blast. It used to have Spike Cannon last patch, but the Wigglytuff tranny removed it. You can still give him that move in the Debug version though. He gets Shell Smash too. And Dual Wield makes Keen Edge (basically, "slashing") moves hit twice for 70% damage each, and he's got stuff like Razor Shell.

Like Aurorus losing Psychic, because having a counter against Fighting (and the only one it had) was somehow game breaking. Also "lol reduced super effective damage" is peak lazy. One of the innate abilities could've been automatic Aurora Veil on entry or switching in, but nope because "Aurorus is le unsalvageable" somehow applies to ROM hacks. Yes this comes across as bitching but holy shit.

I'll just make my own ROM hack.

It is always bullshit when Pokemon in romhacks lose moves that they can learn in the base game, but Aurorus is insanely good, so the rest of your post comes off as just kinda whiny to me.

I'm doing a randomized run where I enabled the Nuzlocke capture ruleset but I'm not actually playing it as a Nuzlocke because that would be masochistic. Anyway, early on my pool of mons was not very good, but I got an Aurorus so I was kinda just making do, but even as I've gotten much better mons including legendaries, I've kept Aurorus on my team the entire time. Don't underestimate multiple stacking abilities that reduce super effective damage. There are a lot of times where Aurorus just sweeps teams by itself, and even when it doesn't it always goes better than 1:1. The super effective damage reduction abilities give it a lot more bulk than its stats would let on, and recovering 1/8th hp + leftovers every turn negates a lot of additional damage. And then I still throw Aurora Veil on there because that's valuable in cases where you're gonna sac it anyway. The weather setting abilities I find are often "enough", but stuff like the Aurora Veil setting moves I often find are not "enough", though actually casting Aurora Veil is "enough" a lot of the times.

Anyway, Aurorus has been a staple on my team this run. I have replaced every single Pokemon on my team at some point, but not Aurorus. It's been there the whole time.
