Bloated on Berries Edition

What is Pokémon Sleep?
Pokémon Sleep is a sleep tracking app that utilizes your smartphone and/or the Pokémon Go Plus + device to record data as you sleep. In doing so, you'll be able to meet a variety of Pokémon and fill out your Sleep Style Dex.

Be sure to post your Research ID so that you can add and share candy with fellow Anons. We are currently locked at 50 friends.

FAQ:
>How do Shinies work?
If you encounter a shiny Pokémon, you only need to feed it a single Poké Biscuit to befriend it.
>What should I spend my diamonds on?
Expanding your ingredient pockets, item pockets and Pokémon box. Long term you’ll want to max out ingredient pockets, only get half of max for items and max 100 for Pokémon.
>When should I use my items?
When you have a good grasp of the game mechanics. You may want to save up Recovery Incenses for event missions.
>What should I spend my sleep points on?
Poké Biscuits first or if you’re a premium user: Main and Subskill seeds and Great Biscuits.
>Can I play this game if there's a lot of noise where I sleep?
The game tracks sleep based on motion only; sound has no impact.
>A Pokémon I fed got full! Will I have to start from scratch the next time I find one?
Nope! Pokémon retain the level of progress they were at the last time you fed them.
>How do dream clusters work?
The higher your research rank, the more you get. You may want to hold onto them as long as possible.

Damn, Toxicity takes 80 candies to evolve? Also it's a bit of a waste that Toxicity has Milk as its base ingredient for Plus. It's true there aren't actually that many milk farmers, but you really don't need that much Milk compared to say, Honey or Oil.
>>
Got this guy this morning. First one I ever catch.
>>

Nice shiny bird.
>>
>accidentally stayed up too late finishing a book
whoops, hope that doesn't wreck my sleep score

I just noticed this. Why do they do this?
I suppose it's a global timing that prevents people from getting a "sneak peak" by altering their time zone, but you think there would be some better way to accomplish that. I think I remember postponing my visit for a previous area because it was in the middle of the week or something, but this is one island in actually prepared for already.
>>
>>58301729
Actually gotta figure out where I want to go for this event. The extra berry for berry specialists can bring a lot of extra power over the week to try and get M20 on certain islands.

Cyan: Clefable, Dodrio, Feraligatr, Braviary
Taupe: Ninetales, Onix, Marowak, Typhlosion, Swampert
Snowdrop: Raticate, A.Ninetales, Xmas Eevee, Weavile, Houndoom, Vigoroth, Walrein, Darkrai
Lapis: Primape, Meganium, Blaziken, Musharna, Sceptile, Xatu
Power Plant: Raichu, Halloween Pikachu, Steelix, Banette, Mimikyu

Of course Natu is only on Lapis and Green grass (+Expert).

Love me some e4e users
>>
>>58304428
I'm doing lapis. I pretty much just skipped it for the powerplant. I have 4 BFS pokemon for it so hoping the berry week will give me some good gains
>>
>>58304428
Bonuses for the event:
>• Each time a helper Pokémon with the Berries specialty brings you Berries as it regularly would, it will have 1 extra.
>• Main skill Berry Burst and Disguise (Berry Burst) effect ×1.4.
>• The limited-time Mini Candy Boost function will be available.
>• A few Pokémon of different sleep types will appear during sleep research regardless of your sleep type for that day.
>• Certain Pokémon will be more likely to appear during sleep research.
>>
thread was down when i spent two great biscuits and my daily catching 3 different caterpies and got nothing good from them
i'm staying gge for the event, just looking for caterpie ekans and swablu
>>
Almost friendship level 10...
>>
>>58306311
Is bfs that big on them?
>>
>>58306510
~85% of your helps on a sceptile with double skill trigger subskills is a single berry
bfs is extremely good on basically every pokemon
>>
>>58306510
It's pretty good for Sceptile specifically, because it's so fast. I think it even competes with Meganium when disregarding both of their skills. This is a comparison of someone else's Sceptile, but you can see how big of a bonus BFS is on it.
>>
>>58304428
Finding Natu is important to me, so that helps narrow down my choices.

This is my current progress:
>GG - M20 / 90%
>CB - M20 / 91%
>TH - M20 / 91%
>SD - M16 / 90%
>LL - M19 / 92%
>OGPP - M20 / 90%
>EXGG - M3 / 85%

It'd be tempting to go to Lapis Lakeside to try for Master 20, I have two excellent Meganium and a good Blaziken that still needs more levels, plus a Gardevoir I just recently got ready.
However, long term it's probably better that I stick to Expert Greengrass so I can progress the area bonus, it's still only 15% and it really hurts, I'm only at Ultra 3 after Saturday dinner (1.4m strength), and that's after coming off a M20 7.3m run from OGPP last week.

If I get desperately bad rolls at EXGG, I have two expert tickets I can claim this week before next week's restock, but I could bail and go to LL as a last resort. Either way, I'm gonna use a good camp ticket.

>>58306639
BFS is TOO good and makes or breaks most Pokémon, unless you need a very specific ingredient farmer or an all-in skill specialist.
This event is basically upgrading Berry Specialists with BFS to BFM which is wild.
>>
>>58304428
probably gonna do lapis, I have an excellent sceptile, meganium, and blaziken. Maybe even my musharna won't be shit.
>>
>>58307997
It occurred to me the Cresselia's Lunar Blessing main skill isn't boosted for the Buncha Berries event.
I guess that's because it's main skill is technically Energy for Everyone, with the berry effect being its secondary effect.
>>
Expert mode is killing me. 10% slower apparently translates to between zero and one e4e procs every day.
>>
>>58308334
I swear it feels like they're fucking with the pity procs somehow.
I was lucky and my Pawmot somehow got 4 procs the other day, but 1-2 is the norm. I've yet to get an expert mode run where Fairy, Psychic, or Electric healers can perform properly, but I keep getting Fighting somehow.
I have a Wiggly with max skill trigger rate, but it's too slow to run on expert so I have to use Pawmot instead.

do i settle for this guy with no bfs?
>>
>>58308385
I’ve played since release and my best e4e is still just a gardevoir with helping M skill trigger M which isn’t amazing, but still.
>>
>>58308407
Helping bonus is better than bfs on a e4e imo
>>
>>58308407
Ensuring you wake up with 1 or 2 E4E triggers far outweighs any potential berry power they could put out. The whole point of E4E Pokemon is to help maintain high energy for the rest of the team for as long as possible, potentially the entire day and then some. A wakeup trigger has a sort of cascading effect. If you miss it, then you only have a few hours before your Pokemon start to dip below the 80 energy breakpoint, which makes it even harder to get your skill triggers. If you can get at least 1 if not 2 in the morning though, then you have that much longer to gather another one and so on.
>>
>>58308496
BFS on Pawmot has a specific synergy with Raikou's Helper Boost, but it otherwise runs great with HB instead.

To be honest, speed-maxed Pawmot with HB is probably a great fit for Expert maps specifically, since it offsets the speed penalty quite a lot.
The combination of Helping Speed M + Skill Trigger M, works better than Skill Trigger M + Skill Trigger S, too.
>>
>>58308981
This is the Pawmot that I run, by the way, older screenshot it's now level 60+.
Near-max skill trigger, but no helping speed boost until 100.
BFS, but has Inventory Up L to offset that (and 5x eggs) and help ensure overnight skill triggers.
>>
woah, a somewhat usable shiny?!
>>
>>58308117
On a side note, Darkrai does get an extra berry since it's "All" specialties.

>>58308385
I remember reading somewhere that pity procs are something like 1 for every 80-100 helps without a trigger. That's basically 1 per day, so it's not as useful as you might think it is.
>>
>>58309447
That looks super useable, congrats.

>>58309486
Huh, pity procs are far less generous than I'd expected. I wonder if the helpings from helper boost count towards the next pity proc.
>>
Two Clodsire Éclairs, no crits at 50% or 60% odds, only about 88k strength.
I can at least try for a guaranteed crit by end of day, with a GCT and dinner just before bed time, but no fucking way I'm hitting Master 3 this week.

It's a huge drop from the 535k éclairs I'd cooked up last week, expert mode is humbling.
>>
Welp, looks like I'm going to manage at least M1 on Expert for the first time, despite barely cooking this week. Miraculously, getting Dragon berries with me having the only Dragon types currently in the game at 60+ pulls a lot of weight.
Also I'm glad the exchange shop is resetting soon, because I'm definitely low on biscuits for next week's event. Wonder if I should do my 2-week trial finally...
>>
>>58310585
At least next week's missions has the usual 5 Poké Biscuits, that always helps.
I'm pretty much down to my last Poké Biscuit from both exchanges.
>>
My boy is going to break 7,000RP in a level or two. The team RP missions are just a little insane, because level 8 needs an average of 6,800RP (potentially doable right now), level 9 needs an average of 9,200RP, and level 10 is 12,600RP. RP does scale up, mainly due to berry power, but I can't imagine individual skills at 75 and 100 providing that much extra RP comparatively. I guess extra speed would feed into the berry calculations.
>>
>>58311591
Every time
>>
>>58311591
Neroli's Lab gives accurate RP calculations from what I've seen, so you can get an idea for which factors give the largest boosts.

The RP is likely calculated from factors like final ingredient gathering rate, rather than a flat addition from subskills that boost it, since the nature, Ingredient Finder M, and Ingredient Finder S altogether are greater than the sum of their parts.
>>
>>58311897
Yeah, I'm pretty sure RP is a relatively accurate quantification of gathering ability and team contribution, minus some of the meta aspects like Research and Sleep EXP.
It's funny that with later levels, I thought it would actually be possible to lose RP on level-up due to unlocking a skill, but apparently not. Ingredient Finder M becomes very close to cutting in on Berry specialists with high base ingredient rates, but even at a level 100, if the calculator is right, the unlock would still be marked as a minor increase (like single to double digits vs a typical hundreds).
>>
Are shinies rare? I got one on my first night (mankey)

I thought about trying Expert again, but I might as well just guarantee a good week by going to Lapis. Natu is there, plus I have BFS Meganium, Blaziken, and Musharna (+ a non-BFS, but high level Meganium) to use. Expert could have huge payoffs if you're able to have the right Pokemon and roll the 2.4x Berry Power bonus, but those are all big IFs.

>>58313244
Quite rare, grats.
>>
So Natu/Xatu details are out.
It's a Psychic Berry specialist with Ingredient Magnet S, and Eggs/Cacao/Apples.
Seems like a big upgrade over Musharna.

My berry rolls this morning, fuck.
>1st roll: Psychic / Fairy / Dark - Desserts - Skill bonus
>2nd roll: Steel / Flying / Ice - Desserts - Skill bonus
>3rd roll: Poison / Grass / Fire - Salads - Ingredient bonus

That's 600 sleep points burned on re-rolls, but I had to.
The past 3 weeks were already stuck on desserts so I'm glad I'm on salads for a change, especially with my team of Meganium, Ninetales, and Typhlosion.
I'm going to be burning off my 50+ Ingredient Tickets S and 20+ Ingredient Tickets M, so my berry gatherers can focus on doing what they do best. I never use the damn things as it is.
>>
>>58313747
i like berry specialists with ing magnet. such a nice combo

These are all optimized comparisons. I couldn't use raenon, because apparently you can't turn off the ongoing event bonuses.

Xatu is decently fast at 41m and compares closest to Ninetales, who is pretty decent amongst all Berry specialists. Musharna was never a top producer due to being kneecapped by Dream Shard Magnet, but it still matters if you need Psychic berries, plus pairs great if you happen to have a good Cressalia. Xatu's ingredient rate is ~20%, which is high-ish, but it also gets 2-3 Ingredient Magnet triggers per day, which is higher than Venusaur/Charizard/Blastoise; main issue being it will typically only be level 2 (8 ingredients). Also an A/B/C spread is 1x Egg/ 2x Cacao/ 5x Apples, so it's actually very helpful for desserts.
>>
>>58314352
Yeah, really helps with ingredient diversity.
Still need dedicated ingredient specialists if your focus is meal making though.

This week I might be making whatever basic ass dishes I can, depending on how ingredient tickets roll.
I have to set a poison type at least 3 times for sleep this week, which'll be my shiny Toxicroak, so I might at least get a stockpile of oil to help make some of the better salads.

I'm seeing a huge difference in strength gains with the Buncha Berries event and GCT so far today anyway, so I'm hopeful I can hit Master 3 this time.
It's a Torchic incense again, I missed that last week, but it's not so essential after I got a great Blaziken recently.
