>FAQ
>What is this?
People are turning into Pokemon. Some are having the time of their lives, and some are struggling to survive. These are their stories.
>How do I join?
Just start posting.
>What's the lore?
People and animals (and at least one tree) are changing at random in their sleep, waking up still in the real world, but now as Pokemon, and nobody knows why (that includes you. Please don't try to explain it). Just enough transformations are occurring to notably change day-to-day life without collapsing civilization. This is not the apocalypse, even if it might feel like it to some characters in the moment. Some people are more in touch with their instincts than others, and some have lost more of their humanity than others. That's about it. Avoid legendaries if possible

Unfortunately a lot is happening in the pokemon sphere at the moment.
>>
>Larson’s eyelids drooped as he shuffled into his townhouse.
>It was only a 12 hour shift today at the station, but using his x-ray vision always drained his batteries.
>Probably quite literally in his case.
>The luxray shut the front door with his back paw before padding over to the kitchen.
>He nosed open the fridge and grabbed the last beer between his teeth.
>Pop! After a few seconds of gnawing, his strong jaw separated the cap. He spat into the trash.
>That was one of the first tricks he taught himself after losing his hands.
>Paws sucked.
>At least Larson typically had some assistance when he needed the use of normal limbs.
>Kurt offered to move in to help him out around the house after hearing about his pokefication.
>The inteleon even changed all the door knobs to lever handles so Larson could still open them up on his own.
>He probably would have lost his mind if he couldn’t even get into his home on his own.
>Tonight wasn’t the norm. Kurt wasn’t home yet, probably finishing up all the paper work from today.
>The luxray figured he should take advantage of the quiet and study up on that type chart thing.
>He appreciated his childhood friend helping him out, but god was he loud.
>He never got noise complaints before until Kurt moved in.
>Why did he continue to play counter strike when it made him THAT angry?
>Larson picked up his beverage and flopped down onto the couch.
>He pawed at a wireless computer mouse to wake a PC connected to the television from sleep before opening up google.
>It was a very, very slow and delicate process, but after some trial and error they found out Larson had barely enough dexterity with his claws to use a mouse and virtual keyboard to access the internet.
>He opened an online quiz on the effectiveness of the various types.
>The luxray hadn’t ever played or even interacted with pokemon games in the past, so all of this was still fairly confusing to him.
>>
>>58423467
>Fire beating grass made sense. So did water against fire, and electric against water. It was just logic.
>But why was dark weak to bug? Dragon weak to fairy? Why was electric weak to ground, but not rock? How were ground and rock different from each other?
>Not that he was complaining, it just meant he only had to be wary of that one type himself in the field.
>Larson bit down on the neck of the beer bottle and tilted his head back to take a swig.
>He took the quiz a few times before he got a good enough score to call it quits for now.
>He closed the browser and was about to put the computer back in sleep mode before he saw the day’s date.
>Wednesday. Trash night. And it was his turn this time. He almost forgot.
>Larson sighed as he stepped off the couch and went out the front door.
>Luckily he was big enough that he didn’t really have any issues just bodily pushing the can to the curb.
>As he was finishing up his final task of the evening, he heard a growing buzzing sound.
>Confused, he sat on his haunches and looked around the empty street.
>He didn’t see anything, but it was clear that whatever was making the noise was getting closer.
>He waited a moment, before turning around to head back inside.
>Mid stride, he felt something brush against the fur on his back.
>Larson let out a loud shout of surprise and craned his neck to see what the hell touched him, but again he couldn’t see anything.
>The moment he turned back around, it happened again.
>He scrabbled up the concrete pathway and burst through the front door, all the while the cacophony of humming and buzzing grew louder.
>He felt like he was being attacked by mosquitoes on a humid summer evening. It even itched like he was.
>He tried scratching himself but ended up batting something hard and round onto the floor.
>It squirmed around before it fixed its orientation and floated back onto the luxray.
>>
>>58423478
>It was one of those, oh god what were they called? Magnetites? Floating eyeballs with magnets.
>There had to be at least five or six of them on him right now.
>Larson grimaced before he dropped onto his back and rolled around, trying to dislodge the little buggers.
>They all buzzed in surprise but held steadfast like a bunch of little cowboys riding a bucking bull.
>He tried shocking them with electricity but that just made them more energetic.
>It didn’t matter how many times he swiped them off with a paw or used the furniture to peel them off, they’d just happily reattach themselves to his fur.
>Larson slumped onto the floor and let out a groan as the magnet pokemon cheered.
>He hoped Kurt would get back soon so he could get rid of these things.
>But he knew deep down that he would never shut up about this.
>He better not send any pictures to their coworkers.

Very happy to see more from Larson. You'd think you'd be right after having successfully managed to somewhat navigate around the lack of manual dexterity, but no, poor guy just can't catch a break. One wonders whether he might crash out from the humiliation his fellow cops put him through one of these days. Be sure to treat your floofters right, people...

I'll read chapter 2 of Serpent and Wyrm later.

At least Electric is an easy type to remember. The hard part is gonna be identifying Pokemon types by sight. We all know that Nidoqueen is a Ground/Poison type, but if you're just looking at it for the first time you'd probably never guess either.

>waiting a bit for the ZA dust to settle
I figured since the last thread only died because I was dumb and we have several active writers it was worth remaking. If this one dies again we can go on hiatus for a bit. I would miss this thread, though.
>>
At least I've written a couple of paragraphs today. I just can't get anything creative flowing right now. I hate how fleeting my writing is.
How you guys feel if there was a standardized website for this thread? I'm thinking of creating a website just because of some specific needs for my story(the multiple languages and ability to easily swap between them.)

>>58424931
I'm glad you're still enjoying the thread. I was (and still am) mildly concerned after the last one.

>>58423483
It could be worse Larson. It could've been a Joltik infestation. Now imagine being drained, covered in tick-sized spiders, AND looking like you're literally a sparkle cat.
>>
>>58424217
Good luck on exams!

>>58424477
Most days for Larson are fine, he may be a grump but he’s pretty tolerant of most stuff, he’s just having a bad luck streak right now.

Though you call yourself a sparking cat one time and they won’t let you live it down…

Thanks for getting stuff compiled!

>>58424931
Dual-typing is going to be the bane of his existence…

>>58425265
Let Larson live in ignorant bliss, he’d never want to leave the house after learning about those.

I assume the site would just be to compile all the stories to one place? If that’s something you want to make and maintain I doubt anyone would stop you.

You know, turning into a zweilous would be pretty terrible. You’re quadruped, probably blind, and now have an extra head that absolutely loathes you and will constantly fight you to get its own way.

Would the new head be a modified copy of the person that transformed, or would it be a completely new individual? God, you’d have to deal with aggressive and gluttonous instincts AND a stranger battling for control over your body…

Evolving into Hydreigon would be even worse. Just when you got used to sharing your body, your "companion" is gone, and now your thoughts are dominated by how to most efficiently destroy all physical matter in the world.

Yeah, maybe put the FAQ there too, and archive the stories.
No one can really stop me given the circumstances, but I'd like to respect the wishes of everyone here anyways. If they feel like having this floating long after the thread dies isn't a good idea, then fuck it, I can just... /not./

You might not have to make a full webpage. The Clover Guild guys have a Rentry with all the stories in their OP, we could do that.

Here we go again.

>You could only flinch, your grip on the pallet becoming white knuckle (only to immediately relent a bit when you noted the wood actually start to give under your fingers) as you felt the boxes slam onto your head and merrily ricochet
>You thought about trying to catch them, you really did.
>Actually gave it due consideration, too, not just a reflexive yes or no.
>The speed of thought was faster for Pokemon it seemed, at least in stressful situations.
>But much as you might've liked to, you just couldn't afford to risk losing the rest of the pallet.
>Your attempt at showing off had been ruined enough as it was.
>"Jeeze, be careful!"
>"You okay...?"
>"I knew this was a bad idea..."
"Ie oaay...."
>You looked crestfallen.
>Ordinarily, you wouldn't've cared that a few boxes here or there went awry - just chalk it up to shrinkage and move on with your life, wondering if this'll be the time they finally fire you.
>But this wasn't about that - this was about making a good first impression and you'd blown it.
>You actually felt yourself sag under the weight of the pallet.
>How could you call yourself a Machamp if you couldn't do such elementary lifting?
>...really not in the mood right now, thanks.
"I ukk onee e ell..."
>"Haha, now THIS is some good shit..."
>"For the love of... argh, alright, look man, you still gotta get the rest of that in... Just, we'll get the ones you dropped, alright? See if the stuff's still good - I won't even tell the boss lady. But you're gonna slow us down more than help us if you don't get your head in the game."
>You had a feeling he was only being so forgiving because this was all being filmed, but you were MORE than happy to take the reprieve.
>Smiling a grateful, embarrassed smile, you hastened to shuffle the pallet (much more carefully this time) through the door and into its proper place.
>It was harder when your strength felt sapped like this.
>>
>>58430876
>You saw the co-worker that had chosen benevolence, Xavier, sigh and the sweary one filming, Antonio, snickering into his hand, while Riley the perpetual scaredy-cat went around gathered the scuffed, dinted boxes from the ground.
>Although the setback had been a bit mentally jarring - confidence seemed to be a big factor in your strength - you knew better what to do the second go around and managed to get the pallet off the floor of the truck with only a moderate amount of straining.
>Your arms shook at first, but quickly started to firm up as the rush of the lift restored your morale.
>This time you managed to get the pallet to the door quicker AND through it without wrecking anything, although you had to stoop down awkwardly to do it.
>It was a much more impressive display overall, if you did say so yourself.
>Antonio clapped condescendingly and kept filming, while Xavier offered a strained smile and Riley just kept eyeing you warily.
>All this while Xavier and Riley brought up the next pallet behind you on the jack.
>They paid the fact that Antonio wasn't helping anything little mind - even without a Pokemon to film for his own personal gain, that fucker (as he was known to even quite proudly describe himself) had a myriad of excuses for perpetually goofing off.
>You didn't care either.
>It just meant more chances to show off and redeem yourself.
>And indeed, when all was said and done, the truck was able to driver away with the driver only somewhat loudly complaining about all the delays.
>You guessed the dude has chosen not getting paid enough for this shit.
>"Well that sure happened," Antonio grinned, finally lowering his phone.
>"Oh, you're actually gonna help now?" Xavier questioned sardonically.
>"Nope! Gotta upload this shit while it's fresh!"
>"Oh forget it," Xavier sighed. "Good news is, the stuff in those boxes wasn't TOO smashable - few chip packets burst in 'em, but mostly salvageable"
"'Ayy!" you cheered, raising all four arms.
>>
>>58430886
>"Yeah..." Xavier awkwardly agreed, making a soft seething noise as he tried to decide whether to replace the strained smiles he'd been giving you with genuine ones.
>"We're, uhh... g-gonna let him unload the pallets too...?" Riley questioned uncertainly.
>"I guess," Xavier shrugged.
>Understandably, this was all still quite weird to the guys.
>Well all except for the one with dollar signs in his eyes...
>"Fuck yeah we are," Antonio grinned, although not looking up from his phone he was eagerly tapping at, prompting another eye-roll from Xavier.
>"Hoo... this is a long day..." Riley moaned.
>Not for you.
>You stood side-on to the still loaded pallets and leaned toward them. Closing your more distant eye, you smirked at the boxes and cracked both sets of knuckles again.
>For you, the day was just getting started.

The alternative would be to do it like the Falinks green - have the person's consciousness be divided between the two heads. Having your one mind in control of both members of a pair of conjoined twins only to return to a single, cohesive entity like what you had when you were human once you evolve would certainly make for a weird and very unique experience.
>>
>>58430764
>You might not have to make a full webpage
I don't have to, yes. However, I feel my story benefits from being able to switch between a translated and untranslated version with ease, and I can't embed Javascript into Rentry to facilitate this.
Also, I just like programming and am trying to find excuses since my story writing has stalled out in the meantime.

>>58430922
I like Antonio, he's an asshole in a somewhat likeable way. You'd never wanna be around him, but he makes for entertaining exchanges.

>consciousness divided between the two heads
The two halves of the brain do fight with each other a lot when communication is interrupted(alien hand syndrome much?) so I guess that would be a pretty viable way of handling it.

>>
>>58430634
I don't really have any reservations about it personally. You could always just go ahead and make it to host your story since you want to have a translation toggle, and then if others want to add their stuff to the site you can archive them afterwards.

>>58430922
I like this trio a lot, they already have really strong characterization. Maybe Charlie's gotta figure out how to upload stuff to social media himself. I can imagine his confidence growing stronger if he starts growing himself a fanbase, and that'd let him lift progressively crazier stuff.

>The alternative would be to do it like the Falinks green
Yeah I could see it like that maybe. From bulbapedia at least it seems like the heads are pretty distinct individuals with their own likes and dislikes, so maybe the person has weird instinctual urges to randomly fight with themselves, or something like that.

>>58432227

>The soft chill of the morning air greeted you as you stepped out into the early dawn. Your boots squished the morning dew coating the grass as you approached the western pasture.
>You were greeted with a familiar sight. The flock of sheep were quietly grazing by the gate, patiently waiting to be rid of the excess wool grown over the last few months.
>It was the time of year again to take care of all that mess before it got too out of hand.
>As you opened the gate, you paused mid-stride and took a double take at one of the sheep. They seemed... off.
>Same build and size as the others, but their wool was more of a soft cream color than dirty white.
>...And their skin was a deep blue, they had what looked like black and yellow striped ears, and a tail with a similar pattern that ended in a glassy orange orb that shimmered in the sunlight.
>Your hand tightened on the handle of your shears as the realization dawned on you.
>Your sheep turned into one of those pokemon things over night.
>You didn't know what specifically. The other sheep acted like nothing changed, all of them chewing cud with the same lazy-eyed disposition.
>It regarded you no differently than any of the others would have, and let out a soft 'baa' as it placidly approached, allowing you to get a better look.
>"Well... Alright. You're more or less still a sheep, and you definitely need a shearing. How the hell am I gonna take care of all that?"
>Its thick, puffy wool glowed a gentle yellow, and seemed to hum faintly like distant electricity.
>You swore you saw small sparks of static occasionally dancing through it as well.
>>
>>58434575
>You chewed your lip as you considered what to do.
>Your manual shears should still work. They had rubber handles, so hopefully that would be insulation enough to protect you from any currents trying to sneak up the tool?
>But as you reached towards the pokemon, the air buzzed in an off-putting way around your hands, smelling faintly of ozone.
>You yanked them back, muttering a swear. The sheep creature tilted its head, a rueful expression on its face.
>You tapped a finger on the shears, before you exhaled a sigh as you turned around to retreat to the tool shed.
>Took you a few minutes of rummaging around, but you found what you needed.
>You felt a little ridiculous, but when you returned you had on some large rubber gloves and an old beat-up welding mask.
>Hopefully that would be enough. This was probably the dumbest thing you've ever done in your life.
>The entire process was awkward, and you took it nice and slow out of excess of caution, but you made it work with some assistance from the pokemon.
>Every snip caused the wool to crackle like taking dry laundry out on a cold, dry day. Poor shears definitely suffered a bit and looked slightly crispy by the end.
>The sheep creature gently shook itself, looking up at you with a slight smile, and walked back to join the others where it was greeted with indifference.
>You gazed down at the pile of soft, luminous fleece buzzing by your feet and wondered what the current going rate was for electric monster wool.
>>

>"Well for one, you won't be running off alone like that again, do you understand?" you said it with authority in your voice.

>Afterward it was silent, but the Fedoark stopped shaking and became more collected.
>You really hoped this wouldn't become a standard part of your workday routine, but with your luck, you might have to deal with the Squirtle Squad tomorrow.
>On that note, you should consider yourself lucky that you don't live in Detroit or any other gang infested city.
>God only knows how bad it is there.

>"No. It is still important to the case. We'll just change the strategy," she replied as if she woke up from a trance.
>"So what are the alternatives?" he asked.
>"If we can't come to it, we will make it come to us," she said like she solved the puzzle.
>"And how are we going to do it?" you asked.

>"Unless you know something we don't, I don't know how you'd do it," you said.

>"Will you let me finish? I'm going to play off its desire to belong or, at the very least, its curiosity," she said.
>"We're listening" said your colleague, clearly intrigued.
>"We are going to use social media and get something to go viral in this town and make it a regular thing. If the Lucario is a human turned Pokemon, it will be using technology and will most >likely end up encountering our bait on social media. If it ends up biting, it is another issue, but the alternative is to wait for another occasion and chase it again," she explained.
>"Now can you drop me off at my house? I need to think..." she requested.

>Indeed you did end up hearing some sounds, but not of the "run for your lives" type of sounds.
>You got your orders and drove to the designated meeting spot.
>While waiting, you started eating your food and drinking the coffee.
>It took a while for her to show up, but she did in her human disguise.
>"What took you so long?" your colleague asked.
>"I had to lose track of some people following me out of curiosity, but I got what I wanted," she said, panting but happy.
>"Now what?" you asked.
>"Now we wait, and if need be, repeat it next week. As for the immediate future, I have a Happy Meal to eat," she said happily while pulling the box out of thin (h)air.
>"It should be up by now, and it's time for it to gain some traction," she continued.
>"So what did you turn into back there?" your colleague asked.
>"Oh I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise," she said smugly while eating a fry.
>You had to wait till you returned home to see what she turned into.
>Googling the town name and McDonald's was enough to find some videos.

Top-shelf green once again, Snivyanon. Guess you're really leaning into those wholesome chungus vibes given what I said before about what these threads were making people feel, huh?

Really can't thank you enough for helping keep the threads alive in Copanon amd original writefag's absence.

You know, here in Australia we had a surprisingly in-depth board game about running a sheep station called Squatter that's considered a classic. A Pokemon version of that with Wooloo and Mareep would be adorable.

>>58440031
Whilst I don't think the re-write was critically urgent, it does make more sense that Fedorark would've read the articles on both Lucario AND her own species. Glad to have you back, Copanon.

The first part definitely flows a lot better imo while still having the same conclusions as the original, very nice. It also makes the lie about her not being one of the worse cases more impactful. Excited to see more!

> Totally isn't that they have exactly one character traits each that I pulled flagrantly out of my arse.
Hey, sometimes the best characters are also the simplest!

I appreciate the kind words and glad you enjoyed the mareep green. Trying to strike a good balance between writing fun little shorts for thread health and more serious stuff for S&W. This thread has been a lot of fun and I love following everyone’s stories, so I’ll try my best to keep things bumped.

>Cracks of gunfire rang out from a small outdoor range as the midday sun beat down on the barren clearing.
>Occasional snaps of lightning and pressurized jets of water also sounded off with the cacophony of human munitions.
>Most of the patrons were clustered on the far side of the range, trying to mind their own business or openly gawking the Pokémon on the other end.
>Either case, they were all giving them as much space as possible as the two slung elemental attacks at various targets.
>Larson and Kurt usually came here when they had the time to blow off steam after a long week at the police station, and were regulars before they changed.
>With the craziness of everything happening lately (their own transformations included), it was nice to take a breather on familiar grounds.
>Luckily they knew the owner of the range and were on good terms, so they didn’t get turned away.
>Just had to be careful to not “blow things up too much”, to which Kurt made no promises.
>He’d try his best though.
>They spent most of their time practicing various moves.
>Kurt had a more traditional range experience with his snipe shot, but mostly focused on power control and stamina more than anything. Would be handy to be able to control the move’s strength in case he ever needed to hold back, and also not get tired after a handful of shots.
>Accuracy wasn’t an issue in the slightest, especially when he use his special ‘extra eyelids’.
>It was like turning on some sci-fi heads up display that showed everything’s vulnerabilities.
>Pretty sick if you asked him.
>Larson mostly focused on controlling and guiding his bolts of electricity, really the opposite of Kurt.
>Controlling how strong of a shock he wanted felt pretty natural to him.
>Actually hitting something wasn’t as straight forward as aiming a finger gun though.
>Most of their early afternoon was spent that way, training their new abilities and just shooting the shit with each other.

>Larson was currently taking a breather and enjoying the warmth of the sun on his fur as he recharged his batteries.
>Occasionally his ears would flick at the boom of a rifle. He was worried that his enhanced hearing would make this experience much more unpleasant, but it hadn’t really bothered him after getting used to it.
>What was more distracting was Kurt arguing with someone on his phone a short distance away.
>He could probably listen in if he wanted to, but he tuned it out to give them some privacy.
>Sounded like some personal stuff with family.
>After a few minutes Kurt tossed his phone onto the bench and angrily fired off a salvo of snipes towards the small paper targets they had set up.
>Larson jumped up at least seven feet into the air in surprise at the sudden aggression, and most of the other people still there gave various shouts of shock and awe.
>Larson tentatively glanced up at the Inteleon whose black-shaded eyes glowered at the destroyed target stand.
>“That bad huh?”
>Kirt sighed as he turned to the luxray, the nictitating membranes sliding back as he calmed himself down.
>“You gonna be free on Halloween night?”
>”Uh, no? I’m pretty sure I got a shift that day. I thought you took that off since it was your turn to go trick or treating with your kiddo?”
>Kurt crossed his arms and looked away, simmering.
>”Yeah, well I just got off the phone with Lisa about that, and she’s freaking out about the whole Pokémon thing and thinks I’ll turn our kid into a frog or something, so it’s not happening unless I can somehow convince her to change her mind.”
>Larson nodded in understanding, a frown tugging at his muzzle.
>”From what I know about your ex, sounds like her. You remember how crazy she was during the pandemic. You mentioned she put plastic covers on basically every surface so she could spray everything down every few minutes.”

>A scoff. “Don’t remind me. It’s just frustrating because no matter how much I told her that none of the other officers have had any ‘symptoms’, even with both of us working almost every damn day of the week, she just wouldn’t relent. Danny was so excited for it. He told me he wanted to be a dress up as a Pokémon trainer a couple days ago.”
>The luxray snorted a laugh, “Ha, yeah that would have been cute. To be fair though, if it was my kid I’d probably worry about the possibility of it spreading to them, too. Maybe it’s like, genetic or something. Who knows. Sorry to hear she’s acting like that though.”
>Kurt sighed. “I know, I know, I’m worried about it too. Just sucks because I barely get to see him as is, and now with all this Pokémon stuff happening I feel like if I don’t grab the chances I get, it’d be months between visits.”
>”Well, you still got two weeks to change her mind, and you know she isn’t completely heartless, just overprotective. Just gotta really play on her heartstrings and maybe she’ll change her mind.”
>”Eh, maybe…” the inteleon muttered, lost in thought.
>Larson tilted his head to the side as he thought before continuing, “Hey, if she doesn’t change her mind, I can see about requesting the night off, and we can go to the theater and marathon whatever horror schlock you want, my treat.”
>”Oh my, the big ‘ol mean lion afraid of scary movies offering to watch some? Never thought I’d see the day,” Kurt smirked.
>Larson softly growled. “Screw off, not scared. Just worried that I might fry something because of a jump scare, and I’d rather not be banned from every theatre in town because of that…”
>”Well if things don’t work out, that sounds fun, I appreciate the offer, Kurt chuckled as he took on a wistful tone, “the scaredy sparkle cat is finally growing up!”
>Kurt’s laughter turned into a pained yelp as a spark of electricity snapped across the range.

Yo, yo, what's up? It's Professor Nisemono here! Crazy world, huh? Got tons of people and critters waking up as anything but themselves these days! Well, look, I'm here to show you how you're gonna get the most out of this world!
Now, I'm a respectable Burger King owner. I'm sure if you own your own resturant, you know how hard it is to get customers, and even harder to keep them happy! Well no more! I have a hack to share to you that'll keep your customers coming!
What you're gonna need is at least one feral Beheeyem and a feral Abra! Preferably, you need two. Now you may think that it'd be wise to hire some former humans who retain sapiance, but when it comes to psychic types, that's a terrible idea! They will interrupt you with moral considerations and also don't seem to understand how to operate their powers quite as well. You really can't afford messups here, so you need to avoid that. You'll also need some plywood or other building material, and some chicken wire!
Now, what you have to do is create a ventilated box, and stick it outside. The dimensions don't matter that much, but you'll want the Beheeyem and Abra to fit while sprawled out without touching each other. Not hard to build at all. Use the chicken wire to open the box up on two sides. The other Beheeyem will be indoors, hiding in either the ceiling or behind the counter, so don't worry about trying to fit them in.
>>
>>58448103
After you've done this, you're going to train your Pokemon. The mandatory Beheeyem's job is to erase the memory of recently eating of any passerbys. The Abra's job is to teleport the food out of the intestines. If you have acquired a second Beheeyem, their job is to erase the memory of paying for the food. If you've managed to also get a third Beheeyem, then you'll use that one to alter their memory so that they think the food was the best food they ever had! If you have any more Beheeyem, I don't know, get creative-you're the one hoarding the local population of memory erasers at that point. All of these jobs are relatively easy to train if you know how to train a dog, since none of these Pokemon are stupid. The hardest to train is Abra, just because they sleep most of the time!
Once you've trained your Pokemon, it's off to battle stations! Your Abra and primary Beheeyem will need to be in the box. The box will be outside, where potential customers will walk by. The Abra will teleport the food out of their stomachs and dump it into the sewer, while the Beheeyem interrupts their walk and rewrites their memories to feel hungry!
Your new customer will walk in, wanting a meal. If you have a second Beheeyem, the moment they move to pay, it's time for phase 2. They will be tucked behind the counter, for easy access to the customer! They will also need to rewrite the memories of everyone else in the restaurant, which is very intensive on the Beheeyem to do it quickly, which is why they needed to be dedicated to this role. Your customer will pay you, and then promptly forget he paid you, as well everyone else in the store. Be ready to accept their money for a second time, or the illusion will be shattered!
Finally, they'll get to sit down and enjoy their burger that someone had to scrape off the ground because it accidentally fell off the grill.
>>
>>58448107
If the food's good, then you really don't need the third Beheeyem. However, it doesn't hurt to make sure they remember the food being delicious. This Beheeyem will exist near the exit, so that they can do this memory alteration as they're dumping their garbage and leaving.
And there you go! Business is booming! Next time, I'll teach you of a new and very renewable meat source from the local varmint population! Nisemoto out!

>feral Pokemon
He's probably writing it because of Pokepseech. Pokespeech got brought up earlier. I think Pokespeech is a bit silly for a setting like this, but also it's an established anime trope so I figure I'll play into it.
The question is, is it a wider trait for all Pokemon to understand it? Or is your understanding limited by how sapiant you are?

This is really good stuff, I like following along with Val’s internal monologue. I wouldn’t be so hard on yourself over word count, I’d rather read a shorter but well written chapter than one that’s word soup trying to stretch things out to 10,000 words. I’m looking forward to reading the full chapter!

>>58457479
>>58457572
Yeahhh, I brought up the topic because I was worried I wouldn’t be good enough to write S&W with only one character (at least for the moment) actually able to talk. Didn’t really know of that was something we wanted to avoid like the legendaries or not, and I don’t want to introduce something that wouldn’t fit in with the loose canon we have, so I haven’t written actually written anything using pokespeech yet.

If some more intelligent Pokémon are able to get their points across effectively enough in non-verbal fashion, I could make that work, just need to fiddle with things.
>>
>>58458280
>Pokespeech
Well, I wasn't against it. It's arguably not very realistic, but like... come on, it's Pokemon. The laws of the universe are probably being actively rewritten in our setting to accommodate Pokemon due to their absurd feats.
Hell, perhaps Pokemon came about in our world because of the the Higgs field's vacuum collapsing! Obviously, we'll never know, but it's fun to have theories that your characters can randomly say later.

>Valentine
Eh, the word count isn't what I'm worried about. It's the fact I'm not even to the halfway point of the story after 4 days.
I'm glad you find Valentine's inner monologue entertaining. I'm thinking about writing a future chapter from Matsui's perspective, which will let me play around with how the monologue is presented.
The question I have to answer for myself is if I should do the chapter chronologically, or if I should skip ahead to do that future chapter first and then go back to fill in the gaps. I have a really good idea for a very out there chapter that I should probably do while the iron is hot...
>>
>>58458738
Yeah if you feel like you can tie things back after skipping ahead, I say go for it. And even though if not, I’d say go ahead and write that chapter down, at least a draft, while it’s fresh and has your interest. It also might help getting those ideas on paper to clear up mental space so you can focus on things you might be having trouble with. I can definitely relate to that.

If you can keep it respectful and non-fetishistic, that would actually be a legitimately interesting thing to explore in this setting.

Just wanna say I think Snivyanon's comments and suggestions are spot on. I won't comment on the proofreading things in detail since this is still a draft, but since you stated before that you struggle with tense snarls, I'll point those out for you:

>I'd have to pull over
Should be "I had to pull over"

>I'd hop online
Should be "I hopped online"

>Any burger that has...
Both "has" in this sentence should be "had"

>but I'd do my best
Should be "but I did my best" or "but I tried my best"

"I'd head in"
Should be "I headed in"

That aside, Val's mental struggle is intense and I'm here for it. This part seems to be steeped in the slice of lifey personal discovery stuff, which I enjoy seeing in this thread's stories. The point about a vaccination mandate is a bit unclear, though. Is he suggesting that California is just super strict about everything and so trying to take a Pokemon into a diner wouldn't fly? Or has the place enacted actual literal vaccine mandates for Pokemon by this point?
>>
>>58460621
>California declares Pokémon themselves are a Prop 65 hazard
Sounds about right
>>
Idea:
>Government knows that people are turning into pokemon
>They know that it isn’t contagious
>They don’t know what causes it or how to stop it
>They want stability more than anything else
>Make a bogus “vaccine” that is advertised as “reducing your risk” of turning
>Make it clear it doesn’t cure you, nor entirely prevent you from changing
>Don’t make it required to prevent re-do of covid issues
>Announce that it isn’t transmissible through the air/fluids/contact
>BS that it’s related to some genetic trait only 0.X% of the population has
So what goes wrong with this plan?
>>
>>58461764
They are called out for their BS immediately.
Folks know they dont have a the foggiest ideas.
Ignored.
That's what happens
>>
>>58460621
>tenses
Ah. Thank you. I'll change those as soon as I can.
I wouldn't worry too much about criticizing a draft, because otherwise I'm too daft to figure out what's wrong with it. That said, you don't have the whole draft to criticize yet.

>vaccination mandates
It's him being paranoid, drawing from my own experiences of what happened during COVID. The CDC has already issued what basically resembles social distancing guidelines, so he thinks the next logical step is the enact the same COVID-era restrictions.
Later in the story, he gets to find out that basically no one in California is following those guidelines and he had nothing to worry about.

>>58461764
>what goes wrong
You begin alienating a whole population who can't take the vaccine because their genetic code is fucked. Just because it's not state mandated won't mean people won't take matters into their own hands.
Studies get done to test the vaccine's effectiveness, resulting in authoritarian shitholes like China or the UK having to suppress it in order to keep a grip on the situation.
It just costs a lot of fucking money to do this placebo roll out program.
The placebo works and the only explaination possible is psychogenic resistance.

”Bully, huh?” You uttered, rolling your shoulders.
>You tested each major limb, working feeling back.
>”Yuppers!” Kat confirmed, looking in the field office.
>She gasped.
>”Clues!”
>Her steps on the tiled floor left blackened imprints.
>Turning down her voltage barely helped.
>Dust and dirt beneath singed to ash, leaving little pawprint outlines.
>Even her long ponytail electrified the ground behind her.
>It dangled and draped itself dangerously over a wire, melting the rubber exterior.
>So focused on investigating, she didn’t smell the smoke.
>You kicked her hair aside, earning yourself a jolted toe.
>A police officer she was not.
>‘Evidence’ she scrutinized browned in her presence.
>Torn wrappers and scraps of food curled and smoldered.
>She seemed more interested in what wasn’t touched.
>”I knew it!”
>Reaching in a heavy, metal drawer hardly touched by the smaller pokémon, she yanked out untouched granola bars.
>”I think…” She mused, fiddling with the snacks.
>Her shark claws pierced the foil covering, melting and tearing it simultaneously.
>She tossed you the other.

>She wasn’t wrong.
“Mmm hmm…” You agreed, examining the chocolate chip granola treat.
>Kat only had it in her paw for seconds, and it was pleasantly warm.
>Something gnawed on it.
>The little bite marks made you grimace.
>Tore it open, but didn’t have time to eat.
>Kat, chewing with her mouth open, continued examining the floor.
>You let her.
>You’d have thrown the contaminated bar aside had you not sensed it.
>The flying rat approached.
>Hesitantly, it peeked in, hoping to tell Kat who the real bad guy was.
>It almost fled at your red-eyed gaze.
>It would have been wise.
>Instead, the frightened creature locked up.
>Gripping the doorframe it peered around tight, its eyes shrank to pinpricks.
>It chose shivering over scampering.
>Lucky choice.
>Kneeling down, you held the granola bar out.
>A little bribe.
>No strings attached.
>Its eyes flickered between you and the treat.
>Hopping forward like a squirrel, it sniffed and grabbed the granola bar from your outstretched hand.
>The critter held the food like a man with a surfboard.
>It wrenched off a honey-covered oat, stuffing it in its mouth..
>A chocolate chip and another oat cluster followed.
>The food would last it a while.
“Go. Get.” You whispered, shooing it away.
>The emolga lazily hopped away, slowed by the massive bar.
>Occasionally stopping to fill its cheeks.

I do have polarized sun glasses, but unfortunately my screens are polarized in the wrong direction, which means I have to tilt my head by about 30 degrees to actually see my screen. I guess I could write like this, but it's not fun.

It'd suck a lot more if I was a Pokemon AND had my bad eyesight still.

>”Hey Kurt? I think my computer is messed up.”
>Kurt looked up from his phone and squinted at the Luxray peeking through the doorway to his room.
>”What do you mean messed up? I saw it was working fine when you were using it last night.”
>Larson scoffed, “Yeah I know it was fine last night, but now I can’t even do anything on it. Takes forever to open anything up, if it even works at all.”
>Kurt groaned as he stood up from his bed, “Alright, let me check the damage. Did you try turn-“
>”Turning it off and on again, uh-huh, already tried. I’m not THAT helpless.”
>The Inteleon snickered as he walked in to the living room to troubleshoot the issue.
>”Son of a…”
>Kurt rolled his eyes and grumbled as the PC froze up for the eighth time in the past minute.
>The fans sounded like a jet engine trying to take off. Poor computer was absolutely drowning.
>After an hour of waiting, a virus scan finally finished and found nothing wrong.
>Dubious that Larson actually tried, Kurt attempted to restart the PC. Didn't help either.
>Whatever Larson did really messed it up. Kurt swore he was as computer illiterate as his grandparents.
>Probably downloaded a bitcoin miner or something.
>After what felt like ages, task manager finally popped up, which confirmed that both the CPU and memory were completely hogged by something called PgZ.exe.
>Nothing about it showed on the internet either.
>Of course, trying to manually kill or remove the program did nothing. Flagging it for the antivirus to wipe out was a dud as well.
>Hopefully someone at the local computer repair shop could take a look and get rid of this thing, because Kurt was out of his depth on this one.
>”Really gonna need to teach you to not click on random links,” Kurt fussed as he stood up to gather his wallet and keys.
>”Hey, don’t blame me for something I didn’t do! Seriously, all I did was watch some videos last night. Didn’t download anything!” Larson complained.
>>
>>58468118
>Kurt raised an eyebrow, “Right, so it just magically appeared. Whatever, gonna take it to Geek Squad or whoever’s open to fix it up, so I’ll be back in a bit.”
>He paused as he was about to exit the door with the computer in tow before glancing back.
>”You ARE using an Adblock right? Didn’t click on any ‘hot chicks in your area’ ads?”
>Larson’s frown turned into a snarl as a bolt of electricity raced down his fur. ”Oh my god, just go already!”
>Kurt ducked out and ran to the car before he got a friendly hug from a thunderbolt.
>One of the downsides of being a six foot tall lizard was the abnormally long tail.
>Really made trying to sit in a seat awkward; he never knew where to put it, especially sitting up in the driver’s seat.
>Maybe they made special chairs with slots for tails.
>After a few minutes of trying (and failing) to get comfortable, Kurt drove down to the local Geek Squad and approached the counter with the damaged goods.
>Luckily the place was borderline empty. It was always annoying when he went out and had a posse of people trying to snap pictures of him for social media.
>No one was actively manning the counter, so Kurt had to call out if anyone was actually there.
>He heard a clatter from the back and a “be right there!” before a pink furred, cat-like Pokémon rounded the corner, their forked tail gently swishing behind them.
>They had on a cap with the company logo on it, and even holes for their large ears to poke through.
>They hopped up onto the tall chair behind the counter and looked expectantly at Kurt.
>”So, what can I do ya for?” She said in a chipper tone.
>”Just need to get a virus or something removed from this. Friend probably downloaded a crypto miner or something on accident and I can’t get rid of it.” Kurt gestured to the desktop.
>The Espeon, Emma by the looks of her name tag attached to a small scarf, hummed in acknowledgment as she glanced at the device before nodding.
>>
>>58468125
>Emma’s face contorted in concentration as a dull blue sheen surrounded the computer.
>It shakily floated up and towards a workstation before cords snaked through the air and hooked themselves to the correct ports.
>Kurt gave an impressed whistle at the display.
>”Neat trick. Haven’t had the pleasure of seeing a psychic-type do their thing yet. Is it true you guys can read minds and stuff?”
>Emma’s ears flattened as a peeved expression flashed on her face. “Eugh, I can’t read people’s minds or brainwash them or whatever everyone is afraid about. Maybe some crazy strong psychic-type out there can do something like that, but most I can manage is to float a few things around. Really wish people would stop freaking out over that,” she grumbled.
>Kurt put his hands up defensively as he tried to stifle a laugh. “Hey now, just asking, not accusin'.”
>Emma huffed and went back to work. Once the computer was all hooked up, she flipped the power on and started to tinker around.
>It was bizarre seeing the keys depress by themselves, like some phantom hand was typing.
>After a few minutes of diagnosis, it seemed like Emma ran into the same issues he had prior as her eyebrows knitted in confusion.
>”Yeesh, yeah this thing is nas-ty. Can’t disable it, no start up entries to turn off, its not even making any temp files. Its like this thing is a ghost. Safe Mode is bricked too. Honestly, we might just have to factory reset. Hopefully you have a recent back up.”
>Kurt shrugged. ”Had a feeling it’d come to this. And nah, there shouldn’t be anything important on here, its only purpose is surfing the web. If you think that’s the only shot, then go for it.”
>Emma nodded and navigated over to the reset after fighting with the sluggish machine, hitting the ‘remove everything’ option.
>>
>>58468133
>Almost immediately, everything went wrong. The screen started strobing random colors, the fans rattled in the case like they were about to fly out, and Kurt was sure he smelt something burning.
>Emma let out a yelp of surprise as the entire store's power flickered dangerously. She tried to reach out with her mind to pull the power cord but struggled to grasp anything over the chaos.
>Though as quickly and violently as everything started, the screen suddenly went black, before something spilled forward from the monitor.
>Emma yowled and ran back from the station. Kurt was already aiming at the creature in horror as it emerged, its red and blue ovoid body twitching erratically as if it didn't know how to piece itself together.
>Eventually it fully exited, its twitching halted. It almost resembled an incredibly mangled duck.
>Its yellow, bullseye-patterned eyes snapped open as it spread its wings, letting out a loud buzzing cry before being promptly hit with a snipe shot, where it crumpled to the ground like a wet towel.
>The Inteleon hopped the counter, eyes wide in shock as he kept a finger aimed at the unconscious Porygon-Z.
>He glanced over at a shaking Emma who had taken cover behind a stool, a sheepish look on his face as he rubbed the back of his head.
>"Uh, sorry for my roommate's haunted computer..."

>>58467110

...Huh, interesting thread concept, stumbled across it for the first time today, I dig it, reading up on what's been posting it's all very solid stuff, kudos to you lot. I'd like to contribute but admittedly when it comes to Pokemon stuff I tend to prefer writing with the series' setting itself in mind. Maybe some other time I'll try a one shot, greentexts're fun. Regardless, keep up the good work, solid stuff. Out of curiosity, where does stuff like the Ultra Beasts or Paradoxes fall when it comes to that "no legendaries" thing? You could have some interesting stories with people turning into not just mons, but mons that're considered aliens even within the Pokemon world I feel.

Wouldn't hurt some other time...

>As for the Ultra Beasts and Paradoxes, I think they were brought up in a previous thread? Pretty sure it was recommended to avoid them as well.
Ah dang, a bit of a shame then, did try and brainstorm a bit in the meantime and thought the idea of getting stuck as a Kartana could be both entertaining and an absolute nightmare by nature (beyond the usual, I mean) and probably lead to an Edward Scissorhands sort of scenario. Similar case with the paradoxes really, having internal conflict centered around even rawer, more aggressive primal instincts than even regular Pokemon would have to deal with for the Past ones, or dealing with a lack of identity and wrestling against conflicting programmed-in actions VS your own free will as a human with knowledge of who you are, or at least were for the Future ones, on top of maybe having an even looser grip on reality given your very nature is unstable and any recordings of your existence, even within the Pokemon games, are conflictingly grandiose yet vague about what you actually are. I figure the "avoid legendaries" thing comes from not wanting to deal with powerwank or the like, right?
>>
>>58474379
Look man, they're guidelines. If you think you can do something interesting with them, I'd say go ahead. The guideline's just there to avoid oversaturation of these things, because it'd be boring if everyone was a legendary, no?
>>
>>58474391
Fair point, guess I'm just worried about unknowingly stirring the pot for a thread I'm new to, don't want to ruin a good thing after all. I'll definitely post something if I come up with a worthwhile story at least, contributing to this couldn't hurt after all
>>
>>58474397
Yeah, go ahead! You've already posited some interesting ideas. I'd love to see what you eventually come up with.
>>
>>58474397
Yeah I wouldn’t sweat it if you have an interesting or fun idea, the ‘canon’ is loose for a reason.
>>
>>58474116
I would personally say they’re fine as long as they’re either “average” power level or the victim is unable to use the more OP powers. Like is a Buzzswole really that much different than a Machamp? Being turned into a Koraidon or Miraidon is riding the line, but setting aside the “lore” of them, they’re just either a giant Dino lizard or giant robot lizard. Turning into Groudon and earth bending a mountain into your home might be interesting but that’s about the upper limit as you’re not going to be controlling the whole earth’s tectonic plate. Becoming a legendary that doesn’t have any powers might be an interesting loophole, like becoming a Xerneas but you’re effectively just a plain deer?

In short, go for it!

I’d like to see how Bulbapedia and the other wikis are handling this.
>Admins refuse to allow any real world data on the main page for each mon
>Some random guy on his user page has created TL;DR summaries for each and every pokemon with advice on what to do if you’ve turned into it
>Someone else created a web app to help people determine what they’ve turned into if they’ve never played the games before
>Fandom uses AI to automatically generate SEO optimized “Help! I’ve been turned into a pokemon!” webpages that are filled with ads and hallucinations that don’t make sense in the real world

>Have you ever held a pencil in the… fuck I think one of my teachers called it the “transpalmer” grip?
>Yeah imagine that but with even less dexterity, it sucks trying to draw or hell even write anything like this.
>Using a keyboard is miserable too, the best I managed is sticking one of my erasers on the tip of one of my arms and making sure I never pressed the keys hard enough that I’d cut through it.
>I still haven’t told anyone about this.
>Parents would probably think I’m starting to hallucinate due to working on too many cartoons.
>Wouldn’t blame them if they thought that, to be fair.
>I’m dreading having to do any calls with my clients though, have you heard what Kartanas sound like trying to speak?
>It’s odd, maybe it’s because the damn things are aliens even within the series but like…
>It almost feels like verbalizing goes backwards.
>For an analogy… Imagine in your head you think about sentences you want to say normally, you understand them.
>But when you actually say them aloud, it’s as if you were typing in a computer, started with the period, and went backwards to the first word of the thought.
>You THINK it normally, but it comes out inverted.
>It genuinely gave me a lot of headaches at first, it’s just… confusing to deal with.
>I’m very lucky my phone’s recorder app has an audio reversal feature so I can still send voice messages that mostly sound like me.
>…still sounds oddly filtered even after doing that though.

>I consider myself lucky this happened right after I stocked up on groceries for the week so at least I haven’t “needed” to go outside my home yet, but good lord am I dreading it.
>I hear some places are more paranoid than others when it comes to this whole thing.
>This is happening to enough people that I don’t think they can really try anything “funny” regulation-wise.
>But I don’t think I’ve heard of… ANY cases of people turning into Ultra Beasts specifically outside of me save for like… Some Nihilego in Japan I think.
>I swear to god if someone says “well even those Pokemon games say those things are specially dangerous so we should round them up just in case” I’m gonna lose it.
>More than I already am, anyway.
>Part of me thinks it would be fun to give any new “powers” I might have a test drive, but something about that feels like it’s “too soon”.
>And besides, as far as I remember most of the stuff I could even do as a Katana would be either cut things, or cut things HARD.
>God I don’t even get fucking psychic powers or flame breath or whatever the hell.
>…Wait aren’t Kartanas double weak to fire?
>Can I even use the stove without risking killing myself trying to make some eggs?
>God.
>I guess I can fly, that’s something.
>But I already know living as a floating death knife is going to suck ass.
>I’ll try and make the most out of it, I think if I like, curve my arms at the end I can keep the edge aimed at me and use the curve as a dull edge to touch stuff.
>…Feels like using your knuckles to do so though, which isn’t great.
>Maybe I should pick up gardening or sculpting or something, I did always like clay…

>Maybe I should try taking a picture of myself laying on my desk and post it in that 1 /po/ thread, wonder how they’d react.

Nice, I liked this! Yeah it’d be interesting to see what the general sentiment on UBs would be once more people become aware of them, especially given their reputation as highly dangerous in the series. Interested to see more!

>Once again you were driving outside the city.
>This time because the security measures in Snorlax Meadow weren't up to par.
>That being a chain-link fence.
>Apparently a lot of Snorlaxes have woken up at once and just walked away.
>And because your city was the closest one to Snorlax Meadow, now every McDonald's parking lot in the area has like ten of them.
>So driving through the center of the city is impossible until the military fixes it.
>Your shift was ending, so you were on your way back to the station.
>The road was still wet from the recently ended rain.
>Your friend from the FBI didn't join you this time.
>She said she needed to train her abilities if she wanted to get that Lucario.
>What that entailed you didn't know, but you hoped she wouldn't draw any attention to herself.
>Then again, she was a federal agent and a Zoroark to boot, so she could probably bullshit her way out of it if push came to shove.
>Your colleague was ranting about the government.
>You were chatting with your support group.
>It would have been a relatively normal day on the shift if not for one thing.
>And that thing was a burning car on the horizon.
>"Good God, what happened here," you said.
>"A car crashed into a tree and burst into flames. An electric one, it seems," replied your colleague.
>"Seems we are the first to the scene. Do you think the driver survived?" you asked.
>"If they managed to survive the crash and get out of the car? Maybe. If not, the chances of survival are astronomically small," he replied.
>"Either way, we need to check. I'll grab the fire extinguisher, and you go secure the scene," you said.
>"That is an electric car on fire; you need specialized equipment to put it out," he replied.
>"So what are we going to do?" you asked.
>"You try to check if someone managed to crawl out, and I'll call the firefighters," he said.

>Once you got closer, you knew that there was no way anyone could have made it out of that car crash alive.
>The car was turned into a pretzel, like a car in a video game that hit one of those indestructible trees.
>Neither could you see any bodies within the fire.
>You went searching around for any bodies but didn't find any.
>You couldn't even find a singular charred body part.
>What you did find was a plate with the numbers.
>It landed quite a way away from the car.
>The impact must have been very violent to send it flying like this.
>In the meantime, your colleague was talking with the guys at the station, explaining the situation.
>It didn't take long for the firefighters and paramedics to arrive.
>They managed to extinguish it so you could see inside without endangering your health and safety.
>And nothing was there.
>Was this a self-driving car gone rogue?
>Something didn't add up here.
>It got even worse when you noticed the way the car was shaped.
>It was like it hit a power pole or tree and bent around it.
>But there was neither.
>You even grabbed your police baton to check if there was some invisible thing it hit, but there was nothing but air.
>Not soon after, some guys from the station showed up and took it over from you.
>They brought the dogs so maybe they would manage to find something.
>You just told them everything you knew and drove off.
>"Do you have any idea what might have happened?" you asked your colleague.
>"Not the slightest idea. First case I saw something like... that in my life. Maybe some self-driving or regular car got possessed by a Pokemon and committed suicide. Honestly, I don't have the faintest clue of whatever fucking happened there," he replied.
>"A Rotom or maybe one of the Porygons could have done it. But that wouldn't explain the car's shape," you said in contemplation.
>"I'm not the expert here, so I'll leave it to your expertise," he said.
>>
>>58479251
Hmmm, a mystery indeed. If the car was possessed, maybe it almost ran into a psychic type who violently stopped the car? Could explain the shape of the wreck and why the plate flew off so far.

Thank you for the kind words, and also the encouragement earlier! Yeah the enhanced anxiety of some art nerd turning into a Pokemon that's dangerous even within the higher tolerance of the Pokemon universe is something I find very interesting, even moreso considering he knows this fact instead of being blissfully ignorant like many would be. Doesn't help that turning into UBs is probably incredibly rare even within the existing turning odds.

Aye, I'm an artist myself so I figured making pieces to go with the thing'd be fitting. I did genuinely use the transpalmer grip for the 2nd one, don't fucking do it, it actually hurt a bit, but the filename is genuine, it made life way easier, the biggest pain was the hands and arms.
>I like your descriptions of how he moves. Kartana is the most inhuman change we've had so far, so watching someone adapt to that is interesting.
Thank you! I try to kinda think of it a bit raw so I just... type out thoughts as they would come about. Adapting to something so inherently alien is odd, and yet strangely familiar, since Kartana still does have a general "human" form to it and all.
>>58481265
>Feels like you planned something here and forgot about it.
Consequence of me kinda writing thoughts as they come, my bad, wanted to imply the guy'd committed to making his brand as an artist entirely rely around the color blue (totally not projecting), so not even getting to be stuck as a Pokemon that'd at least match with that feels like salt in the wound brought on by all the things being a Kartana already implies for his art career.

I really oughta. There's few excuses for me to actually work on chapter 2 beyond "I can barely see," something I proved to myself wasn't that big of a handicap last night (Glasses broke, mentioned earlier in thread.)
I ended up writing this bit of a potential chapter 13. https://files.catbox.moe/oh1vr5.txt
I don't know if this will be canon, I was feeling out the aftermath of a much whackier idea, trying to see how I can settle it in "casually" while still maintaing the whole part of it being completely out there.

>Dashed from one edge of my house to the other in a flash, I did get a bit tired from it though so something to keep in mind. But still, I guess flying and super speed isn't the worst roll I could've gotten with this...
>Fourthly: I think "closing my eye" is more of a mental function than a physical one, since when I do try and close it physically it's more like... Looking through ironsights rather than fully blocking out my eyesight.
>Feels almost trancelike.
>I remember reading about some Decidueyes mentioning a similar thing with their hoods when asked about it, something in common between Grass types I guess? At least me 'n them.

Good that they’re taking to their new body well enough, it would probably be a nightmare not being able to figure out how to control your paper body. Having to shove food into your eye is so uncomfortable to imagine lmfao, good luck. Fun to see that this is taking place later on in the timeline, hearing about online discussions of human-mons talking about their changes and new abilities is interesting.

Yeah I’m in agreement that you just gotta stop psyching yourself out and write. The only person stopping you from writing is you. I think everyone here just appreciates the stories that are being posted regardless of perceived quality, and as said previously, your stuff is enjoyable to read. That chapter 13 slice you posted is definitely out there, but it’s fun and I’m interested in what even lead to the whole alternate timeline stuff! I commend you thinking ahead and planning your story all the way up to that chapter count, but I would do yourself a favor and put a pause on that to start writing ch 2. You’ll probably feel better once it’s finished and posted.

I'm certainly working on chapter 2 again. Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm not sure I needed them, but it's also not like you guys drove yourself to Alaska to give me a pep talk in person, so at least I'm not feeling terribly guilty over the effort exerted here.
What I posted was just a really early feeling draft for chapter 13 anyways. It actually cut out the planned intro and everything after the BG enters the room to interrogate the duo(and wasn't even finished.) I didn't plan to finish chapter 13 until way later, if I even committed to the bizarre plan.
Chapter 12 might be a different story though. I'm interested in trying it after chapter 2 is finished, largely because I want to strike while the iron is hot on the idea... but I'm also conflicted and not sure the idea is even a good one. I could always decanonize it later if it turns out to be a horrendous idea that can't reasonably fit into the story, I suppose.

>Good that they’re taking to their new body well enough
Fortunately for Kartanon (please, Kartananon is his father and I still don't quite know what his name'd be) Kartana still has a humanoid-enough shape that it still mostly makes sense to him mentally at least. The weight change and floating is the oddest part though, I'd say he likely vaguely internally "gets" how to float up or down due to having worked on 3D CGI before, just gotta alter your Y-axis right? Admittedly, at first I did consider approaching it as more of a "flowing in the wind" kind of thing but looking at more Kartana animations (games or otherwise) it actually has some very precise control over its movements despite the idle implying it just floats along the breeze, interesting dilema.
>Having to shove food into your eye is so uncomfortable to imagine lmfao
Unfortunately for him, he's just kind of stuck like this so he'll have to do it unless he wants to starve. Such is the anatomy of alien creatures within an already alien-feeling world.
>Love the art too!
Very much glad to hear! It's been a minute since I've drawn Kartana (more like years), but he's much more fun to doodle than I expected, alongside trying to figure out ways he could "emote" like a human within the limitations of having no fingers or a proper face (picrel, the gleam on the eye can very much serve as a fake pupil from the right angles, and curving that bit of his hand to give a thumbs up silhouette'd feel close to trying to curl your pinky with your hand splayed out WITHOUT also curling up the ring finger: can be done but takes annoyingly more effort than you'd like).

>>58485747
>Just know that I enjoyed it greatly!
Very much glad to hear that! I was worried it'd be a bit amateurish since the way I write is often just... "write out a stream of thoughts as they come from the character's POV" rather than having external narration, but I'm glad it's still been enjoyable.

Thanks for writing everything, glad you got hit with the inspiration bug. Great feeling when creativity comes easy.
Don't like ultra beasts, so maybe I'm being harsh, but I think you fell into the "describing" trap a bit much. Gotta have something happen.

Any advice on how not to fall into that “describing things” trap? I worry my work has been teetering on that edge and might be getting close to navel gazing.

>Any advice on how not to fall into that “describing things” trap?
It's a problem I still have often fall into: describing a scene too much rather than letting a scene play out. There's a happy medium. Gotta give the right details and let the reader fill in the rest with imagination.
When you do describe, use the five senses and tell the reader the important stuff.
>"She smelled terrible." is weaker than
>"She smelled like stale crackers."
or
>"The beast stood 10 feet and 8 inches tall." is weaker than
>"The beast stood tall as a house."

The 'what happens' is the meat and 'descriptions' are the seasoning. Don't want too much or too little seasoning.

>>58488831
Point taken! Yeah the UBs are an odd bunch, Kartana stands out a lot for me personally due to how much personality it's given in the games and anime, specially through Refresh. UB's aren't for everyone, but I did think Kartana'd likely be one of the less egregious ones seeing as it's described as Rattata-common in its homeworld, so probably not too busted, right?
>I think you fell into the "describing" trap a bit much
I'll admit, I kinda like writing about the mundanities of life, small moments, raw thoughts, observations, and monologues but it's not ideal for longer stories now is it... I'm somewhat handling these as linked one shots more than a proper story in a sense. I do have some more action-based ideas for it later, gotta get to that point in the story first...

Pretty good way of explaining that what she’s doing is harmful in a way she might understand. Next big challenge, if she agrees to leave peacefully, might be finding a way for her to charge up that isn’t harmful to the infrastructure or up to the randomness of weather.

Looks like Valentine’s got a new quest on the other side of the country, get to it super hero.
>>
>>58489787
Actually, I jokingly made it CWC after a few pieces clicked into place(me deciding to do a silver alert instead of an amber alert and then promptly remembering where CWC lived, though technically silver alerts are for 65+ and CWC's only 43) but actually the prospect of him getting his second/third Pokemon in Virginia would be quite interesting. Unfortunately, he's going to take FOREVER to get there.
>>
>>58489820
Much like how Matsui got sent to the US, maybe Valentine needs to give a psychic type a heart attack for teleportation shenanigans :^)
>>
>>58489854
It's really, really tempting. It'd even work out because of his mental state during the next few chapters, because he's going to be absolutely miserable.
There's a couple of problems though. I don't know what kind of Pokemon to give him in Virginia, and also the whole thing of getting Matsui back, or if she should even be a permanent companion. (Would be silly to have the Loser and the Very Lost Snowpix without the Very Lost Snowpix though.)

And then there's all of the future plans I had penciled in. I guess they could work elsewhere though, or could be delayed.

Macho here. Sorry for not being around the last few days. My depression was biting me hard, not helped by my family being thousands of dollars in the hole and the gas almost getting shut off.

Now I could skip commenting on people's stuff to save myself the trouble - the thread's taken on a wonderful life of its own in my absence (complete with folks giving Val's writer good advice and encouragement), so it's not as if my presence is strictly NEEDED right at the moment, but honestly I still want to, so I'll just go person by person rather than chronologically. I'll comment on each post block before moving on to the next, simulating my reactions as if I were responding promptly, before subsequent posts happened, as I normally would.

>>58465204
Well that solves the much smaller portion of the problem, at least. But it's the lion's share (or the tiger's share rather) that's gonna be the far bigger issue here. Still not 100% sure exactly how Lucarioanon can handle this.

>>58472684
Embarrassed back of head/neck rubbing is something my own Lucario OC has down to a science. I like how clearly uncomfortable and awkward he is trying to bullshit his way out. He's just too good a boy for that charismatic rogue life. I never did ask whether that's purely the result of the Lucario instincts or if Lucarioanon was like that even before he transformed. Not quite a boy scout, but definitely quite earnest and straightforward.

Larson, ever catching a break, some assembly required. One wonders if car manufacturers are trying to design new control layouts suitable for unusual Pokemon bodyplans.

Adorkable IT Espeon is gonna be a yes from me dog.

I think we can give Kurt a pass on the possible police brutality there - that shit would be legit. terrifying. And hey, his water moves aren't fatal (to Pokemon anyway) - the "faint 'em all, let Arceus sort 'em out" approach is very Pokemon. I'll give Kurt props for readily embracing his new heritage.

Gotta love the strangeness of Porygon. It's an AI, but it's also a physical being that can breed and get clonked on the head.

New Snivyanon greens are always a treat, and this one is no exception. Quick, simple, and to the point, with a solid blend of cute and horrifying. Introspection is fine so long as you like the character and are engaged with their struggle. ProfD passes that test with flying(heh) colours. I'm extremely late to the party, but what the others wrote about the FAQ being loose guidelines rather than hard and fast rules was quite correct. Happy to see you press on with your idea.

>>58477998
I did notice Lucarioanon's comment before I started reading this. I know he said he was probably just being biased, but I actually do see his point about telling and not showing. We don't see Kartanon losing it - he just says that he is. We don't see Kartanon discovering flight - he just says that it's better than nothing (kind of an underwhelming reaction all told). We don't see Kartanon attempt to speak only for it to come out backwards - he just says that that's what happens. On the contrary, Kartanon, don't spare us the spiel at all. I WANT to go on your journey with you, rather than just having it recounted - self-discovery is a big part of this thread. I WANT to decipher a backwards sentence and feel the same befuddlement that you did. I WANT to go flying with you your first time. I WANT to see more of you getting stuck in every crack and crevice. Sharing the novelty (for good and for bad) of your new life with you is where the fun of this entire premise lies.

You also might wanna consider looking up a few synonyms for "odd".

>Maybe I should try taking a picture of myself laying on my desk and post it in that 1 /po/ thread,
See this is the stuff that's intriguing - teasing us with stuff Kartanon might do, or that serves to build the wider world.

>>58480963
>>58481287
The fact that you're adding your own art to your green is just awesome, and has the potential to really elevate the thread to new heights - so much extra life that you can add to your story. Those that could art AND green were basically royalty back in the old /mlp/ CYOA days.

With regards the blue thing, getting the audience to wonder about that would've been fine as a setup to pay off later.

>aggressively chuuni thoughts

>give Kurt a pass on the possible police brutality there - that shit would be legit. terrifying.
Being big into horror movies, the Porygon sliding out of the monitor definitely brought some 'The Ring' vibes and Kurt wasn't taking any chances lol.

Rotom would have such an easy time taking over Earth, people would just slap them into everything.
>>
>>58480972
I think posts like this in particular are what Lucarioanon was referring to. Fretting and fussing is fine - ProfD also does that a lot - but here we're five posts deep and all we've gotten is drawing ability (or lack thereof) and arm movements. Now that's great stuff as >>58481086 pointed out, don't get me wrong, but again, I want to do actually do more things with the guy. Interleave his ruminations with him actually doing something in the moment we can be a part of.

>>58480977
See this would've been a great time to have Kartanon actually try to slide under the door, maybe fucking it up because he keeps ruminating even as he should be concentrating on that. Would emphasize the over-thinker characterization and make us empathize with him more - get us drawing positive comparisons with Prof D. Alternatively, if he's too paralyzed by fear and indecision, maybe nervous, unconscious motions with his blade arms that get away from him due to said rumination and lead him to unwittingly damage something. Either way gives him reason to want to control his anxiety while in this form.

I love your thoughts on the consequences of this transformation, but I want to see more of it in actual action.

>>58482065
Okay yeah, bro is definitely paralyzed by his anxiety. I do get that, but funny enough this post does actually fill in a little bit of the flight experience. I'd still like to see him actually do more things with his arms, actually putting everything he's talking about into practice, but it's progress.

>>58482069
The reflection on the Kartana he used in the game is nice, and though the sensation of touching this apparent weakspot could've been delivered with more impact, it does give us something to think about - we can relate to some part of us feeling extra (maybe even irrationally) vulnerable. Running in the house could've been more, but is good, and I always appreciate the transformee developing a gradually more circumspect thought process over time.
>>
>>58486260
This Y-Axis stuff would've been really nice to get in the actual green, like maybe they experiment and reach this conclusion after becoming consciously aware of what they're doing. I guess there's no reason Kartana couldn't both float freely in the breeze when it wants and exercise extremely precise control when it wants.

Your arts are definitely coming out fantastic. One can see in the drawings how much fun you're having making them.

As I've been saying the stream of consciousness is great - I'd just like to see it placed alongside actions the character is taking in the moment.

>>58489444
I'm not huge on most of the UBs personally (although I do have quite a bit of "so bad it's good" affection for Stakataka, the stack that attacks), but I respect them, if that makes sense. Taking the excuse of these being truly alien creatures to create more "out there" designs feels earned, as opposed to the Paradox forms, which I feel get quite lazy and downright nonsensical in places.

Like I said, I'd simply add Kartanon doing (or attempting to do) things alongside the observations and monologues. The mundanities of life emerge in our everyday household activities just as much as our everyday thoughts, after all.

>>58490091
So Kartanon HAS been accidentally breaking shit. See that we would've loved to see in-between the earlier ruminations. I don't think you need to switch styles, but this moment where he's resolved to go slice something up for fun is a golden opportunity to practice interspersing his thoughts with something he's physically doing in the moment. Give it a try see how the weaving of mundane thought with mundane action (maybe not the most mundane, but it's not too far removed from, say, chopping firewood or going at a punching bag) strikes you.
>>
>>58481418
Lucarioanon and Snivyanon have already given you fantastic advice, although I will say, be that sure you're balancing maintaining your eye health with your desire to break free from all this internal nonsense holding you back. These are both healthy things that should be kept in healthy balance. I'd give feedback, but the Catbox link in this post seems to be broken.

>>58482446
Only one tense snarl that I can see ("I discovered", not "I'd discover") and this feels much better proof-read overall. Once again digging the Keep Driving vibes of Val's journey, and the ruminations on the fake trial going on in his head are genuinely amusing. This passage is a good example of what I was saying about how Kartanon should interleave thought and action - you have the need to engage in some dodgy navigation (not immediate action, but imminent), Matusi eating and her potentially being in the way of Val retrieving his shades. Very simple, mundane stuff, but these things that are physically taking place in real time as the character is thinking about them provide a solid anchor to hang the ruminations from.

Nice job, man. This is good.

>>58489654
"I would check" should be "I checked", "she'd look" should be "she looked", "she would put" should be "she put", and "I'd raise" should be "I raised". Couple of out of place "an"s instead of "a"s, too, but overall still a marked improvement over chapter 1. I do like those subtle off-hand references to Internet culture you throw in. It's there, but doesn't beat you over the head.
>>
>>58489919
I mean that's just a title I came up with because I needed something there. I struggled pretty hard to come up with it and wasn't massively in love with it, so if you decide you want Val to have a succession of different Pokemon companions, of which Matsui is only the first, I'd be all for changing it to, "The Road Pokemon Travelled" or something like that.

As for what psychic type to give him, there are plenty of good options, but am I weird that my first thought was Indeedee?

Think about it - Indeedee literally feed on the happiness they generate by serving others, yeah? It feels like there's HUGE potential there for immense guilt (Val not being able to get happy through no fault of the Indeedee's and ultimately feeling even worse knowing that he's literally starving them, not to mention the moral turbulence of keeping a "slave" in the first place) and soul searching, and maybe the Indeedee senses a great deal of (very tasty) light just below the surface, or they interpret trying to break through to Val as a challenge, or maybe they're just that desperate. They could be a source of sage advise, but also immense annoyance through their frantic efforts to try and cheer Val up at the same time. It could also transpire that the Indeedee is hiding behind their species' servile instincts to escape their former human self's demons, whatever those might be.

I dunno, maybe I'm weird, but I read your dilemma there and my plot bunnies just started raising the roof with this one...

>>58478983
That is a lot of Snorlaxes, goddamn. I'll have to incorporate that into Charlie's story if I ever get that far.

>I love your thoughts on the consequences of this transformation, but I want to see more of it in actual action.
>See that we would've loved to see in-between the earlier ruminations
Yeah, fair on all grounds. I think I'll have to switch how I go about writing it slightly. I actually worried that frontloading the stuff about what he did could be tacky so I wanted to build up his background through recountings, adding in tose details like messing stuff up or figuring out how to fly being built up over time rather than all of that being explained linearly. I did also worry that describing actions could be off-putting in a sense? I wanted it to all be his somewhat "raw" thoughts as they come, and you don't usually describe the actions you're doing in your mind as you do them, right? Not like I'm thinking "I'm using the keyboard and pressing this and that key", I just kinda... Use the keyboard, so adding that to his immediate train of thought felt off in a way. Kinda why I figured indirectly implying he went to his computer n opened up desktop LINE would be a better way of getting across that as opposed to "After booting up my computer, looking through my files and all that jazz, I do have LINE on this. I click on it, and I'm met with an update screen." Maybe I should just cave n add that sort of writing in if it'd help the story read and flow better...

Regardless, thanks a ton for the feedback Macho, really do appreciate it! This is my first time doing something in this specific style so I definitely gotta work out some kinks, hope this early stuff won't be jarring to go back to if I do change up my approach though...

If it makes you feel any better, I've been struggling with synonyms for more than a couple of my words, and I'm an English native.
It's probably not as viable with how you write your chapters, but words I'm paranoid about becoming too common, I ctrl+F in the document and look up synonyms if it appears too often. I also use it to curb my usage of dashes. I REALLY like the idea of interrupting speech in every paragraph. Help me.

>The next day didn't exactly bring you any less work.
>There was no need to search for the car's owners, as they came to the station of their own free will.
>They were a husband and a wife of, let's just say, higher social standing than most.
>Either way, their son was supposed to come back, but he didn't return, nor did he pick up their phone calls.
>The parents were worried sick but hopeful that he was still alive.
>The last time they had contact with him was when he called them from a nearby gas station.
>So there the search started.
>The area around the gas station, crash site, and the entire length of the road between those two was combed through by K9 search parties.
>The gas station camera footage just showed him getting back into his car and driving off.
>Even some local hunters joined in the search for some tracks left by a Pokemon.
>To no one's surprise, they found nothing.
>So the captain decided to "promote" you to "detective for Pokemon-related cases".
>It was less of a promotion and more of a designation for everyone else to go and bother you when Pokemon get involved.
>You weren't exactly trained in forensics beyond the bare minimum any officer had received as part of their training.
>So you were sent back to the scene of the incident, followed by a detective who actually knew what to do.
>The case clearly bore marks of Pokemon involvement.
>Either that or the guy was abducted by aliens mid-drive.
>There were several theories relating to what happened.
>Neither really works well with the other, mostly because neither of them accounted for the driver.
>He had to have left the car at some point after having driven away from the gas station.
>The problem was that he was nowhere to be found, and the car clearly had a driver and clearly had to hit something.
>Current theories involved everything from Rotoms and Porygons to levitating psychic types.

>Either way, you, your colleague, and the detective that was assigned to babysit you arrived at the scene.
>Saying there was anything to look at would be an understatement.
>The wreck was removed, and now all that was left was a ditch with polluted water.
>The stench of chemicals was still strong in the area.
>Lucky you that you still had those gas masks from before.
>The detective grabbed one of your masks and went to meet the firefighters.
>"Don't get any closer," said a firefighter while crouching next to the ditch.
>"The water has undermined the asphalt. It can collapse if you're not careful, so I'd avoid stepping on it if I were in your place," he continued.
>"Is it supposed to happen when extinguishing EV fires?" asked the detective.
>"I don't think so. I think we did something wrong when extinguishing it, and we washed out some soil from below the road," replied the firefighter.
>"Where is it now?" asked the detective while looking around.
>"The wreck? It was taken away. Lithium-ion is extremely hard to deal with. You extinguish it once, and it starts again some time after. We took it to a place where it won't pollute the surrounding area. Either way, you shouldn't worry about us destroying any evidence, as the fire did it for us," said the firefighter while standing up from the crouch.
>The detective returned to the car.
>The weather wasn't exactly pleasant to stand around in this time of the year.
>"So. Do you have any ideas what it might have been?" he asked you.
>"With what we know, not much, not enough evidence for anything concrete," you replied.
>"A bit hard to determine anything if you have massive unknowns that refuse to be filled," said your colleague while browsing Bulbapedia on his phone.
>Being fair, you weren't needed here.
>The detective could have just used Bulbapedia instead of relying on your "expertise" on the subject.
>"Then we are forced to wait for a breakthrough," said the detective.

So there WAS a human driver at some point. Still no tracks or any other obvious markers that might have been left behind by a Pokémon besides the wreck… Ghost type involvement maybe? Something that can spirit someone away without leaving a trace. Though with the comment about how the asphalt was undermined and they aren’t sure why, maybe some ‘mob that knows Dig? Without a lead, it could be anything.

>"Stretching boundaries of believability," oh the irony...
>You started to bounce ideas between you and the detective.
>Each time he had an idea, you would turn it down, and vice versa.
>After a while your theory was that the stench of chemicals was hiding the smell from the dogs.
>It did make some amount of sense.
>Another theory was that ghost types might have been involved, or maybe a Hoopa.
>Still not enough evidence to constitute a breakthrough in this case.
>You were about to suggest returning to the station and waiting for some more developments from the other teams as your colleague suddenly left the car with his mask.
>"What are you doing?" you asked him.
>"Checking something," he said while holding out his phone in the direction of the ditch.
>He was doing something on the phone and switching his sight between it and the ditch.
>"I think I found something. Get out so you can better see it," he said,
>You and the detective put on the masks and stepped outside.
>"There was a tree there," said your colleague while pointing at the ditch.

>I wasn't planning on giving him a psychic type
Ah, my bad. Kinda misinterpreted your response to Snivyanon there.

>Litterbox
This one works. Okay, so time travel shenanigans? Huh. I'll admit I'm not big on time travel personally, but if there's a rogue Celebi running around or something, this sort of thing happening is not AS unreasonable as it might appear at first blush, even if it lacks the groundedness of our others stories. I even kinda like the idea of civil war soldiers (or any soldiers, really) coming up with weird smekálka workarounds to try and awkwardly incorporate Pokemon into their fighting style, but it'd probably be better to write a chapter of Matsui experiencing this first hand, such that her recounting it to Val isn't just a big exposition dump. I do like how innocent Matsui feels in this passage, though. She's way too sheltered and not nearly cynical enough for this kinda shit - it's great. The point about them extracting material from Val is rather odd, but it's out of context here so that's understandable.

>not writing that when my sleep deprivation is hitting its peak
That would definitely help, yes.

>>58493641
People don't give the modern dex credit where it's due, in my experience.

>>58494379
Oh yes, NOW we're getting somewhere. Kartanon still gives plenty of musings in 4372, but then in 4379 he also actually DOES something, and you presented this moment of self-discovery in a very fun and slightly silly way that's perfect for this thread. The way the action is light on actual, physical description and more focused on mental response works well with your stream of consciousness style. I love the way the freeze frame of the tree in the picture seems to lean back, as if terrified.

There's a small number of proof-reading snarls, but nothing too serious.

Good work - this is a notable improvement.
>>

"...your what now...?"

>>58496134
I love that the partner is the one to figure it out - gives him more to do in the story. Also, as a Star Trek kid, having Copanon get by via pooling the expertise of others he himself could never hope to possess just tickles me personally.

>>58496144
Or in the case of Cubone, you're dealing with both. Bangin' pun, my man.

>>58496495
Funny enough, after reading >>58479251 I had thought of Sudowoodo as a completely spurious flight of fancy. I figured "a tree suddenly walking into the road could definitely surprise you enough that you'd fail to avoid it". Guess I was closer to the mark than I thought.

So does this mean the driver's soul has been cast into the shadow realm? Although funny enough the Trevenant line isn't known for carrying souls away like, say, the Chandelure line is. Unless dude lost control for some reason, hit a normal tree, died, and then his soul possessed the tree and became Trevenant. That could be a thing I guess. Either way, I'm interested.
>>
>>58496654
>I had thought of Sudowoodo as a completely spurious flight of fancy
That could honestly work too, didn't think of that.

>Trevenant line isn't known for carrying souls away
There are myths of them devouring people that would disturb the forest they protect, but those are just rumors. Its honestly a real mystery what happened to this poor sap.
>>
I have not been productive with my chapter today. Time to change that.
>>58496474
Nah, don't worry about misinterpreting my response. Indeedee is a genuinely good suggestion.

This is a dump on my thoughts with the "time travel" plot, if you're curious, but it's really not that important. It's just a stream of my consciousness.

This runs into the same "cameo legendaries" problem that Pokemon Unbound does (and also Insurgence to a lesser extent), where legendaries are thrown in haphazardly to the point where it loses meaning. What I would probably do if I was going to write this is use Hoopa (who ironically is Unbound's cover 'mon) instead of a fakemon and give them a kind Mister Mxyzptlk schtick, where they're throwing Matsui and Val into these other timelines as a means of pranking and testing them. What they need to do to return home can still be dangerous, but I'd make it moreso annoying and personally confronting in some way, rather than purely being a "fight a boss" type of thing.
>>
>>58497283
They're not supposed to be haphazard. I actually came to the same conclusion that the chapter should revolve around addressing a problem that the characters have. The issue is that I don't know what flaw to give Matsui outside of "fading identity," and "false innocence." The closest I got is learning to go against authority figures when they're making bad calls, which Cobalion would've been good for.
I have plenty of options for Valentine, but there's very few good boss conflicts that Valentine could go against that would also fit the themes of avoiding your full potential and self-sabotoge.

I appreciate your words though. I think I'll just go back to the drawing board. This idea stinks so much. I wish I wouldn't do this.
>>
>>58497332
For Matsui, maybe she struggles the need to always do things herself, regardless if she actually needs assistance or not, and over time she learns that its ok to ask for help. Could be a pride thing, or just a feeling of not wanting to be a burden on others. She's already exhibited some hesitance and disdain from getting help from Val in the first chapter.
>>
>>58497332
I mean an obvious one for Matsui would be needing to develop her own sense of identity outside of what society has decided for her (what does SHE want and like as opposed to what it is expected of her to want and like), which would dovetail nicely with her trying to hold onto her humanity.

I wouldn't say the idea stinks on its face. The idea of culture shock squared (where you're in an unfamiliar time AND there are Pokemon shenanigans afoot) definitely has potential. Maybe what you could do is use an Arcanine for Masui instead of Cobalion. That way she's still at a type disadvantage and being heavily associated with both lions and police, it too serves as a strong symbol of authority. This in turn makes Val's encounter with Type: Null (as you say a rare example of a Pokemon that can represent self-sabotage. I think that's actually pretty clever) feel more special, while still giving Matsui an equally as powerful opponent as Val.

>>58497398
Oooh, I like this too
>>
>>58497408
I just thought of this - since Arcanine is based on Ryukyuan mythology, whereas the Swords of Justice are based on the Three Musketeers (and western knights more broadly), making Matsui's opponent an Arcanine might even be more fitting because it figuratively hits closer to home for someone from Japan who is experiencing some very Japanese struggles.

No, the idea really does stink. Hoopa would not be able to fix it either. There's no way to reasonable execute it, and you're correct in it being completely and utterly ungrounded.

>Arcanine
I guess it would be interesting. Also coincidentally, the plan for the master crystal thingy was that it would be a fire stone, so if I was actually a capable writer who could make this plan work, I could've potentially have made it so that Matsui effectively fought the stone itself as an Arcanine. A third layer of authority. Oh well.

It's your call, ultimately, but there's no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater. For what it's worth, I am at this point convinced that the thematic significance between Val and Type: Null is strong enough that the two meeting does deserve to happen at some point in some fashion.

Also, this passage is quite good outside of your usual tense snarls - Val distracting himself from his inability to help is nice and vivid. Since most of them revolve around "I'd", you might want to just ctrl-F "I'd" and check whether each use of "I'd" is the correct tense or not when you're done. That would solve most of the tense issues.

>>58497707
Rumination and action in harmony. Nice. Very nice. I'm sure people who care more about "correct" punctuation would quibble with all those ellipses, but I've never cared - I love to spam ellipses myself.

>>58497713
Slightly more proof-reading snarls here, but Kartanon is learning more about himself and pondering his future plans. Everyone has a different answer when it comes to how to interface your human logic with your Pokemon instincts (how cursed an image is it when the human half is the logical half, by the way?), and I don't think we've seen the answer be, "Clearly, I must build" yet, so that's pretty cool. Coming from a Pokemon you wouldn't normally associate with building and creating, too, but then when you stop and think about it makes total sense. Really neat. Kudos.

I also get the sense that Kartanon is more "into" the philosophy his new instincts are espousing than he's letting on. Like yeah, it might be "cringe" by modern societal expectations, but deep down he digs it anyway. Would make sense given his line of work.

>>58497724
Ha! Buzzwole! RIP mozzie, but let's be honest, they kinda deserve it. Seems like Kartanon might need to find something he can practice slices on regularly. Damn, where's Skallagrim when you really need him...?

That's good advice. I dunno where the hell I picked up that habit of treating that like a past-tense phrasing, but it explains a lot.

>Type: Null
I just don't know how to make it happen, nor the circumstances of how the Null should even exist anymore. Nothing I come up with fits in with the tone of everyone else. Ironically, this would be a prime time to fucking write Null, given that I am experiencing the exact prolonged feelings of inadequacy that would make this so powerful, but alas...

Well, seeing how welcoming and encouraging people here've been, I figured I might as well doodle a little something in return for the sake of my own due dilligence! Wish I could include all the stories but it's already 2am where I am and I need sleep, these were mainly just the first "little moments" that came to mind, still not done reading every story (wanna add Val n Matsui for example but lack time to spare), it's all very good stuff, so thanks for having me be part of it!

>>58495224
Thank you kindly! Having an excuse to draw Kartana more has been fun, pretty happy with how it's all turned out so far.

>>58496474
Feel bad for not replying to either of your comments sooner, I was kind of in the zone for this (and busy), thanks a lot for the feedback! Doing my best to take it into account 'n put it to practice, just hope none of it feels ripoff-ish of anyone else's stuff.
>I love the way the freeze frame of the tree in the picture seems to lean back, as if terrified.
Worked out with the tree silhouette I already had going on for the main part.

I do feel like I abuse ellipses a bit, but at the same time, I think it's fitting giving the guy tends to trail off pretty often, 'n it's the best way I have to convey that through text I feel.
>Slightly more proof-reading snarls here
I'll come forward and admit I barely do any in the first place since I don't want to risk "losing the spark", if I start editing too much it takes me twice the time to do anything, so I just want it to get out there above all. Just means I oughta be more cautious the first go around.
>Coming from a Pokemon you wouldn't normally associate with building and creating, too, but then when you stop and think about it makes total sense.
Does mean a lot to hear! I tend to be pretty autistic in my research, so I tried putting some thoughts together on Kartana based on environmental tips given UBs are mysterious by nature.
>You're doing better, Kartanon.

These doodles are very nice. Thank you for sharing them. I'm glad you're sharing your stories, and I apologize for not commenting on them, I can't muster any reasonable criticism or praises right now.
I don't blame you for not drawing Matsui nor Valentine(it's honestly weird you singled me out when the much better written Copanon stories exist.) Even if you had the energy and time, you'd discover that the details on them are sparse for the moment. I'm not even sure it's worth your time to try to draw them, but that could just be the typhoon knocking on my brain's door for me.

Sleep well man. You're doing damn good.

Ha, I was also thinking of MGR:R blade mode. Just need Kartanon to yell "Jackpot!" after slicing something to ribbons and we can start calling them Jack. Really interesting visual with the whole grabbing a 3D object and moving it around in a program as a way to explain how they can fly. Hopefully the mosquito killing urges doesn't lead to Kartanon testing his blades on some poor peasant in the middle of the night. Loving the story!

Then do it. Here's a thought - don't explain where he came from at all, at least at first. Have the Null be asking himself those very same questions - who am I? Why do I exist? Did I used to be human? Every other Pokemon around here seems to be a transformed human, but I can't remember (note: There's precedent for this with Kat) - I don't even know how I know what a Pokemon is, but I know I'm not a normal one. I know I shouldn't exist (not really, of course, but have that be his thought process). Why do I have a near-irresistible urge to eviscerate every living thing I come across? Do I even have a place in the world? Every other Pokemon I see seems so much happier than me... so much better than me...

>>58498482
>welcoming and encouraging
Now that is a cursed image on this site if ever there was one. But I for one am loving this small little piece of wholesomesauce we've been building here, and you sir are an absolute treasure and we already don't deserve you.

I wouldn't worry about your stuff feeling derivative. What makes each transformee's experience unique is the particular strength, weaknesses, and challenges their form brings. Your research clearly paid off.

Incidentally, Charlie was supposed to be wearing an out of place girly sunhat rather than the more stereotypical fedora, but his expression is beautiful. I love VetPhox's disaffected expression too.

>>58498632
I suspect Val and Matsui would be particularly fun to draw explicitly because our human perspective characters (Copanon is the same way) haven't been given a lot of extensive description, which means one gets to exercise a lot of creativity with their designs. Just pure vibe drawing based on the kind of person Val is (I'm thinking broad-shouldered, but with a hunched posture and tired, shrinking, maybe even almost hollow expression, myself). If he does do Copanon, I think it should be him and Fedorark. Maybe the partner too.
>>
>>58498779
>don't explain where he came from at all
That doesn't resolve the issue of how they'd even meet, or the circumstances of their relation after meeting. Yeah, I can absolutely ignore where they even came from. What I can't ignore is their first interactions and every subsequent interaction. Would they be a permanent member of the party? Someone who shows up occasionally in his travels? THAT'S what I'm primarily struggling with.

>Drawing
Huh. That's a good point.
I was planning to explain how he looked in chapter 2, BUUUT I'm also tempted to let Kartanon to cut out what he thinks.
I mean, chapter 2's description was going to be unreliable anyways. It's from Valentine's perspective. Do you really trust Valentine to give an accurate description of himself when he's already having thoughts like "a sad state of affairs, I am," and "I'd want away from the nasally bastard who kept forcing himself into everything too?"
>>
>>58498820
That's a fair point about Val's appearance. I love the idea of having Val unreliable narrator himself in that regard.

As for Null, perhaps you could take the bones of the original take over the world scheme but bring it down to a smaller scale - Null falls in with a bad crowd, headed by an unscrupulous psychic type who feeds Null's self-doubt and fills his head with nonsense, and Val could get caught up in their dealings when they steal his car, or kidnap Matsui hoping to traffic her, or even is just in the wrong place at the wrong time and is caught in the (proverbial or literal) crossfire when one of their plans goes awry.

I can't think of any way to reasonably slim down the original plan. I'll consider the bad crowd in other ways though. Perhaps a cartel in Mesa, Az finds and recruits them? Someone who wants to make all Pokemon feral and finds use for them because they have built in airborne toxin scrubbers and thus are immune to whatever fucking whacky ass neurotoxin they've come up with? (That one's a stretch.)
I've had another consideration for Null too. They are technically part computer, which opens up the avenue of them trying to connect themselves to computer networks, a bit like a far more physical Porygon. As you can imagine, doing this has not only major psychological effects(imagine Null trying to download and process the databases of a social media site,) but also has the potential for conflict that would draw a lot of attention to them very quickly. Maybe they feel outmoded and have been stealing ancient equipment that they think is around their technology level... including equipment currently being being used by organizations! Absolutely would be a menace in fucking Armenia lol

I could also just total Valentine's car(and obliterating his remaining 3k in his savings account) by having him run into the Null. That is absolutely an option that just cropped up in my head. Would certainly show how sturdy a Null is, though I mean... is that even in doubt? Fulls were purpose built to fight Ultra Beasts in particular. They're meat laden tanks with all sorts of neat tricks under the hood, not even accounting for the fact they should be able to change types on a whim. (Granted, that's just me expanding the Type: Full program. For all I know, the Aether Foundation did not consider Nhilego immunity when they built the Fulls.)
Ah well, I'll figure something out in the morning.
>>
>>58498935
I did also mention that the original plan can also still work providing you're willing to fully embrace the silliness, although you actually seem quite adroit at the smaller, introspective slice of life stuff when you're working at your best. The cartel and computer nuisance angles can both work. With the latter, don't a lot of businesses and especially government intuitions still rely on some really (like worryingly) out of date tech? You could also combine the latter idea with the car crash idea if you wanted.

>>58498876
I'll be needing to update stuff regardless, but if you wanna make my job a little easier feel free.

>>58498882
I love this. Prof D failed to Pokemon properly solely and exclusively because he never tried, in stark contrast to the likes of Lucarioanon who immediately wanted to find out what they could do. Now obviously this is more descriptive rather than following the action directly, but it goes into a lot of detail, and still covers a forward progression in our owl pal's life, as opposed to when Kartanon was mostly just sitting in his room and thinking about stuff.

One does wonder if ProfD's ever had his Decidueye instincts screaming at him and he's just been repressing them hard, or if he just doesn't feel them as strongly as a lot of other transformees do.

>>58498892
Takes me back to my own uni campus.
>>
>>58498892
Aw yeah, class is back in session. It makes a lot of sense that some transformees would be held back by their human beliefs on what’s normal or feasible for them to do, never really thought of that. And yes ProfD, you are 100% a school celebrity.

Thanks a lot for the kind words again! Very much glad to hear you liked my tiny drawings, really love all the stories a lot!

>>58498632
>(it's honestly weird you singled me out when the much better written Copanon stories exist.)
Oh, it's simple actually: I wanted to draw Matsui reluctantly hanging out inside Val's bag with Val implicitly in the scene through his arm, kinda like Miirym for Snivyanon's lil cutout. I thought that was a very charming moment in their initial bonding, and an Alolan Vulpix poking its head out of a bag is a cute mental image. It was the first idea I got for another drawing after I'd already committed to the 6 I did. I actually don't want to inadvertedly "assert" any design for the human cast, so if I do draw any off them, either their face will be off-screen, or silhouetted (same idea I got for Copanon later, himself covered in shadow with Fedoark in the back of the car). If I can pool up enough time and willpower I'll definitely draw some more of these!

>>58498779
Once again, thanks for your support n feedback, really does help!
>Charlie was supposed to be wearing an out of place girly sunhat rather than the more stereotypical fedora, but his expression is beautiful. I love VetPhox's disaffected expression too.
Admittedly, I tried going more for a men's sun hat approach, did consider doing a girly one but couldn't quite tell if that's what you were going for so I prefered playing it safe, he's definitely not enjoying his situation. As for VetPhox, something about him strikes me as the type who'd have that "signature look of superiority" to him, y'know?

>>58498892
I've really enjoyed reading ProfD so far! Probably one of my personal favorites (admittedly, Decidueye was my starter in both vanilla and Ultra Sun so I'm a bit biased). Love seeing the backwards talk, the art program comparisons, and the fact that Kartanon's friends are giving himself just the kick in the pants he needed to get him moving. Funny how quickly humans can normalise nominally insane things, huh? "Oh yeah, I got Smeargle, sorry for not mentioning." This is why even consummate horror aficionados like CheeseYeen acknowledge that while eldritch horror can be great, the events of such stories are ultimately predicated on a fundamental misunderstanding of how human responses to stimuli (and especially fear responses) actually work.

Also, oof, Kartanon's friend getting Smeargle had GOTTA be a kick in the guts...

>>58502581
Oh yeah, shutting the toxic rellies DOWN! Kind of a simple post - probably take you a bit to get fully back into the swing of things after all that, I'm sure - but a beautiful move from our phox.

Speaking of beautiful, I feel like the true artistic merit of AI art lies in its fundamental misunderstanding understandings of our existence - from VetPhox sitting on the armrest, to how it screwed up Delphox's design, to the way the reporter is just holding up a PokeBall for absolutely no reason. It has an effortlessly surreal quality you don't see in a lot of human art.

A Spiritomb forming overnight out of 107 prisoners in a supermax would definitely lead to any number of bad things.

Doing better on the tense snarls. If you're gonna go the computer nuisance route with Type: Null, this could be good foreshadowing for that. Val getting lost in his own head and extrapolating the political incident that hurt him to an extreme that's absurd even for California is uncomfortable in a good way, not unlike a lot of Herding Cats' scenes. Also, blaming the government for a random fire type being on the side of the road is just funny.

>”Uhhhhh… No?” Zeraora declared, breaking into a fit of giggling and snorting.
>”Plenty for everyone there!”
>Despite expecting as much, you were still dumbstruck.
>She has no clue.
“No, no, Kat…” You said, waving your hands back and forth. “Not…”
“I didn’t mean that literally.”
>Another poor choice of words.
>“Oooooooohhhhhhh... Literalally.” She nodded, feigning understanding.
>”Now, I get it.”
>Staring directly at her broke her concentration.
>Another laughing fit, in contrast to your stony gaze.
“It’s okay if you don’t get it.” You assured her.
“We don’t have to pretend.”
>For a moment, it seemed she’d take this seriously.
>Then her smile widened.
”But it’s fu-hun!” Zeraora sang.
>She took a few seconds to stand more like you, a little taller and wider.
“You didn’t mean to hurt anyone, right?”
>”Never did!” She said, horribly mimicking your voice.
>She overcorrected, somehow making your tone worse.
>”Helped uh’lotta critters today!”
“Well, helping those pokémon hurt a lot of people.”
>Zeraora dropped the act, now concerned why you’d said such a thing.
>”I didn’t hurt nobody.” The feline insisted. “Why’rya sayin’ that?”
>”We were hungry and we ate! That’s it.”
“I know, Kat.”
“You got a good heart.” You said, patting your own beside your chest spike.
>She mimicked the gesture, her hand electrifying her fluffy chest.
“Look…” You added, pointing to a pickup below.
>Sometime during your conversation, maintenance workers arrived.
>They’d found the unconscious electabuzz and poliwhirl, and the melted fence.
>Lucky for Kat and the rodents, they’d likely get off scot-free.
“Those men have to fix the station.”
“They’ll need a lot of help. Probably’ll replace some expensive stuff.”
>”Fix what? It works fine.”
“That, Kat!” You waved your paw towards the affected part of town.

“People don’t use electricity like you do.”
>Kat gnawed on a knuckle, but focused on what you said.”
“It’s, uh…”
>She seemed fixated on people coming here to get electricity.
>Like they were rechargeable batteries, good for a week.
“They can’t use electricity like you can.”
“It turns lights on, and heats up food, and, uh… keeps them comfy.”
>”It does make me comfy.” Kat agreed.
“But it comes through the buildings. Through houses.”
>”You sure?” She asked, incredulously.
>”They’ve got volts in ‘em.”
“What?” You asked, now finding yourself on the ‘student’ end.
>”Humans got a charge.”
>”Not much, but they use it.” Zeraora stated, stepping closer.
>She looked you up and down.
>Her sapphire eyes, coursing with power behind the glowing iris, brightened and dimmed.
>”Yeah, see, you got some too!”
“No.”
>”Yes.” Zoroark corrected you without missing a beat.
>”E’rryone does”
>”Maybe that’s why yer so skinny!” She added, lightly dragging her static claws up an arm.
>She was thinner than you…
“No, I don’t get it.” You repeated.
>You didn’t see it.
>You saw things too.
>Beautiful things nobody else had the gift to witness.
>On that, you empathized.
>Special sight would skew anyone’s thoughts.
“Kat, people need machines to do what you can do. You know that, right?”
>”Oh, yeahyeahyeah!”
>The zeraora nodded violently.
>Far different from faking knowledge earlier.
“Cars. They can’t run like we can.” You began with an example.
>”They got no claws.” She added, wiggling her own.
“Right, yeah. They need tools instead.”
>Unwilling to explain just how effective some of those tools were, you moved to your point.
“And that’s how they use electricity.”
>In a stroke of perfect timing, the men below pulled toolboxes from their truck.
“They need tools to make light and warmth.”
>”Mmm…”

>Kat mulled over your words, bobbing her head.
>You let her think.
>Watching the workers head in provided the right amount of distraction.
“Can’t have you going there again, Kat.”
“Might hurt others… Or get yourself in trouble.”
>”Whuduz that mean?” Kat wondered.
>Silence answered the question.
>Kat stretched and kneaded the tarp on the roof.
>True to her feline nature, she pawed, kicked, and pushed against the surface to smooth it out.
>With only brickwork beneath, you wondered how comfortable an entire minute of kneading affected things, but said nothing.
>”Mmmkay, Doggy… Think I geddit.” She dragged out, seemingly turning her body off like a flipped switch.
>Perhaps she literally could.
>Turning around three times, she yawned loud and opened her mouth wide.
>Her spittle, glowling with power, gently sputtered.
>She curled into a ball on the warm tarp.
>Squatting, you said your final piece.
>Now or never.
>She was going to snooze and the rest of the world didn’t much matter.
”I train in the forest.”
”Same place you met me.”
>The yellow cat nodded, slowing her breathing.
“We should train together.”
>Kat grumbled something between a purr and a question.
>You leaned closer, hoping for actual confirmation.
>Lightning quick, Kat struck.
>Her rough tongue licked your nose, wetting and giving it a static shock.
>You fell back, wiggling your nose and holding it beneath a paw.
>The feline stuck her tongue out.
>”Train you tomorrow, Doggy.” She said, dozing off.
“See you tomorrow, Kat.”

So many poisons for Copanon and co. to pick from, so little time. Choose wisely, human friends~

>>58504005
If she's fixated on the idea of coming to the substation to get electricity, you could've tried explaining that the wires carry it to the humans, but now that she took it all there's none left for the wires to carry and that's why the buildings are dim.

Love the revelation that she has her own sixth sense. She has yet to grasp the notion of "too much of a good thing" - human bodies use electricity, yes, but also die from it easily. Frustrating for Lucarioanon, but fascinating.

>>58504027
Better than nothing. She doesn't really understand, but she likes Lucarioanon enough to listen to him. Maybe in time she can truly understand.

To quote Captain Aex Rotherot, congratulations, Lucarioanon. You have dealt with overwhelming odds in a manner consistent with the best traditions of Starfleet.

Bro'd be a credit to Federation service.

>>58504198
Ha. Given how intrinsically competitive Pokemon are, your gamer rage isn't likely to go away after you turn. You sure that music is comfy with your newly sensitive fox hearing, VetPhox?

>>58504685
Come to think of it, I don't think we've really had the whole grass types absorbing water thing yet. Don't think ProfD covered it.

Bro is just Banchoing it up and it's glorious. I chuckle every time he has to stop and be astounded by either his new abilities or his instincts being "cringe".

Kartana's notions on killing and meat are ones I'd strongly advise listening to there.

>Kartana autist part of my brain
I keked

The balance of musings and action is really good now, and just fully embracing the absurdity of how Kartana eats in the games is amusing. I might’ve liked a LITTLE more about how he's using his arms to do these more complex actions, but that's just me - you DID write about his arms motions and manual dexterity a lot already.

Overall I'd say you're on a roll with this tale now.
>>
Welp, I do want to do those little circles for (at least some of) the stories I couldn't get around to last night, hopefully won't keep me up as late.

>>58503726
Aye, Copanon, if I could pester you for a bit, d'you have any specific ideas in mind for how the guy should look or at least what style of uniform he'd be wearing? (Seeing as all of these have mainly happened in "ambiguous city, [likely] USA", don't know which place's to reference for him)

>>58503180
Also you, if you don't mind me asking, did you have any specific kinda bag in mind for Matsui to be hauled around in? Also... specific clothes preferences for Val, anything notable he'd have on either of his hands (scars, gloves, tattoos, w/e)? I do like the idea of Matsui popping her head out of the bag, I just think it's an endearing mental image so it's what I'd like going with.
>>
>>58503963
>tenses
Good. I'm paying far more attention to them.

>Type: Null
I actually came up with this BEFORE the Type: Null, but happy accident.
I'm not sure where I'm going to pop the Type: Null. I get the feeling I should definitely wait until Matsui is back, and/or do it after Valentine gets his second Pokemon.

>random fire type
That is a funny idea, unfortunately that's not actually what Valentine is doing here.
Firstly, that's not a random fire type. That's just a random bush fire. I had one just like that almost burn my Mustang once, and unfortunately it was a LOT more dangerous because my CONVERTIBLE MUSTANG has a FABRIC TOP.
He's blaming the government for not properly tending to the dry material, letting it grow out of control rapidly. Did you know California doesn't even do controlled burns?

>>58505211
Go ahead and make up whatever you like honestly, but if you really want to be faithful to my own personal view...
The bag itself is a full-back backpack, but it's designed for holding a computer. It has only a handful of pockets, the first being on top and the other two being on the front, back to back.
Valentine mostly likes wearing darker colored T-shirts, so his hairy arms are often exposed.
Frankly his hands are pretty boring. On his left palm, there's a V-shaped scar that ends on either side of his ring finger. On the top of his right hand, he has a vein that bulges right next to his index finger's knuckle, and a microscopic scar below it that you wouldn't notice unless you shined light on it at a very specific angle that came from plunging a pencil into his hand out of rage once.
>>
Hoboy, ended up being way busier tonight than I thought I would be. Time to catch up.

Finding the trevenant is definitely a needle in a haystack situation, with all the ways of drawing it reckless. Quite an unfortunate circumstance. Maybe ghost types can detect each other and Fedorark would be able to help.

>>58504027
Well, I guess that's really all you can do in this situation at the moment. Not sure if she actually fully understood what lucario was getting at, but its a start. Also god they're so cute together, the training sessions are gonna be fun.

>>58504198
I feel VetPhox's embarrassment on that this, been in that exact scenario before lmao. Him playing a healer fits perfectly with his 'f everything attitude.

>>58504685
Imagining Kartanon wearing little origami winter clothes now. Honestly hilarious how he keeps slipping into a shonen protag, I love it lol.

Good stuffs. Been chipping away at ch 3 of S&W, but my free time has been getting eaten by overtime at work. Hopefully I'll get it out in the next couple days, sorry about the wait. I'll try to get a green posted tonight in the meantime.

>>
>>58508286
Yeah, don't worry about it. I'm happy to receive any kind of fan art.
I may actually switch to the sling bag later, just for the Nebby parallel.

Unrelatedly, I had the idea of an amnesiac Valentine pop into my head. It'd be interesting to see him unburdened by his stress, and potentially explore his more arrogant side in an unrestricted fashion, but I don't even know how the fuck that would reasonably happen.
