What is "the play" moving forward with the new changes to trading and whatnot

I haven't been too sweaty before and just have one alt that I use to pull the new set alongside my main and by the time it became tradable I could send over anything I was missing and use pack points to fill in the gaps and its usually worked.

Now that sets are tradable right away though, and you also can gift an extra card per day on top of the trade, there's so many options for how to approach it.
While on a bigger set (like the first new one with 3 different packs, or even sets with 2) I probably still want to pull alongside my main just to get some new shit play.
But for mini sets especially it sounds like (on paper at least) I could completely skip pulling on my main while I pull+trade the full set with alts. And my main can go back and finish building 1250 pack pity on those sets where I have 300-500 already, or to chase an immersive I really like.

i'm not surprised it's dying so hard, they're consistently making the worst decisions possible when it comes to card design. it drives away casuals and in a mobile game you need to cultivate your casual audience so they want to start spending.
pocket's design of rare pulls being alt art instead of objectively stronger things is generally helpful for new players, but in a situation like we're in right now where there's a clear tier 0 deck that rapes everything except the handful of decks that have a good matchup into it, it's a huge negative. everyone who's been playing the game for a while can build and play suicune greninja or at least one of the decks that can handle it like darktina or guzzlord, but a new player has no way to actually catch up to that. they'll just load into a match, get curbstomped by suicune greninja or darktina, and then after a few repeats of that they'll just quit the game.
that's clearly why they shat out the deluxe set the way they did, they desperately want new players to be able to catch up but it's just not enough which is why they're also lifting the trade restriction on current sets and adding the gift feature.

This is what I’m stuck on. Games are decided so fast there isn’t even a point in playing them out the majority of the time. Presumably you push all these fancy cards with the hopes that people will want to play them in PvP to see them in action. But half the time you don’t even get to play the game before your opponent auto wins, hence you don’t even get to see your own fancy cards get played. Unless of course you are yourself a whale. Basically unplayable casually.

playing any deck that can't generate energy on turn 1 is basically an exercise in frustration. you'll lose to bricking AND you'll lose to the damn coinflip. it's very easy to get a string of a few games where starting coinflip and initial hand RNG decides you mathematically cannot win no matter what cards you draw, and that's just about the worst experience you can offer a casual player.

it's the best card revealed so far. blaziken is just another flavor of "fire type stage 2 that wins if you get it out early and loses otherwise" and gyarados is flat out worse than the ex version. altaria has solid unconditional damage, is a stage 1 so it's significantly more consistent than blaziken, and it pairs with sylveon who also makes its condition extremely easy to activate.
anyway, the best mega is likely to be whatever normal type they choose for the colorless mega. ilima will carry hard.

The anime did a relatively more tragic twist to this drug subplot: Mohn, who is Lusamine's husband and the reason why she ends up being obsessed with Nihileo, was warped by an ultrahole and lost his memories but he is left stranded with a shiny nihileo (instead of becoming a cool guy in a resort island) who he raises as Lillie and thinks it is the real deal all along. When they reunite he's acting like a madman and eventually the family adopts Lillie the shiny nihileo as part of the group anyways. So there's 2 Lillies, the pokemon and the real one.

it takes a while, but not as long as you might think. by the very nature of using alts to hunt for 2-stars, you're going to be repeatedly pulling the same set for quite a while and that means a lot of dupes to get dust from. it's never going to be as good as it is right now with the deluxe pack raining dust thanks to guaranteed ex cards, though. my 2 alts i made for this set have about 70k dust each already.

This game is absolutely miserable for casuals now, I play unranked exclusively, my decks aren't meta but they are tuned and I can usually beat people with non-tuned decks. But lately I've been running into these fucking master ball rank max level tryhards in unranked, playing top tier meta shit and ending the game in 3 turns. First you needed ex to compete, then you needed babies and now you need Suicune or Raikou. Even with the reprint break, I can't get into this meta, it's miserable. Either stop letting ranked tryhards play in unranked or make a "Theme deck only" mode for casuals, because right now we don't have a home

you can get a lot of packs pretty quickly on a new account. they give you a lot of hourglasses (1 of the starter missions gives you 120)

20 packs is only a ~3% chance to pull Oak, but you can reset accounts if you're dedicated

you'll have to farm 25000 shinedust to trade the Oak once you get it but that's probably the easy part
