The threads have given me a lot of food for thought lately.

At the outset, the goal behind my project was largely to make a version of Gen I that would feel native on an arcade cabinet. That primarily meant a visual upgrade. In addition, there are other enhancements over FRLG I wanted to add.

Then I got more into the realm of making my "ideal" version of Gen I, and slowly began trickling in things like new areas, dramatic rebalancing with type changes, and other stuff common to fangames.

Now I look at the list of what I'm planning or hoping to do, and now more and more of it I'm just seeing as fan fiction-y stuff that gets away from what I was driving at in the first place.

So I think I'm going to focus on the visual fidelity without being too drastic in changes otherwise. I'm also going to scale back dex rebalancing to remove type changes and other more drastic decisions.

Just finished Dreamstone Mysteries. That was a fun ride, and I struggled with the Championship last battle. I disliked the game putting too many point-of-no-return corridors between zones, even when i was prepared, but that is one of the few flaws this romhack had.

There's infinite black 2 iirc although that one goes the route of adding regional variants instead of new mons (i think gogoat is there)
White 2 upgrade which expands the dex (721 mons iirc) and adds stuff like fairy type (it's a W.I.P and more like a proof of concept imo rather than a full romhack)
And finally Fuse White 2 which adds a bunch of fusion mons a la Infinite Fusion, apparently has a lot of features like Megas and Gen 8 mons
