With eugenics and niches you have intent, and people can purposefully breed Pokemon to accentuate certain traits, mitigate others, or introduce new ones.Like let's say that Altarias have genes that code for the Fairy-type, which is why their mega evolution is a Fairy/Dragon, but since Fairy and Dragon are usually incompatible those Fairy-type genes aren't expressed. How much do you guys feel you need to have written before you start publishing? A chapter? A certain number of words?
I only ever planned on one chapter and ended up writing more when I felt like it. Having several ready to go is a huge blessing, though. Feels less rushed and gives you more wiggle room that way. That's probably the only way to get into a schedule also.

>>59035952Usually I have a big plot event in the early chapters that sort of becomes the "premise" of the fic (or sets a specific tone). When writing non-lewd stuff I wrote 6 chapters before publishing, and another project I started writing I didn't expect to publish until what I thought was chapter 5 (which likely would've become chapter 6, all things considered).Long running lewd story I wrote for fun and not really giving a shit, I waited until I'd written like 18 chapters... No idea why I did that, but I did.Specific chapters don't matter, but (especially if you're a new writer) there are very important logistical things you'll discover as you're writing the first few chapters. I'd recommend writing until you largely run out of those discoveries. It's a feel thing, but you'll start to know when it's in a satisfactory spot.
