Item slot in exhange for a second ability seems like a fair trade. If I wanted to make it cooler though I'd instead have it so that pokemon have a friendship stat with each other that you raise through amie/camping/picnic activities. During battle your whole team is buffed in various ways depending on how high their friendship is with the 7th pokemon. Honestly would really be cool as a hack or completely new game built around the idea.

I just finished Game of Champions, and man, the author really did read Dune when he was 14.I did not expect Red to be the kwisatz haderach. Did his mom really fuck her Mister Mime? You know, brothers and sisters, previously I've had some ideas of stories or a story of a naked feral girl finding herself in a world where humans have fucked off through some means and all that remains are Pokemon.Usually, the setup would be the Pokemon being... well... But the recent release of Pokopia and everyone here buzzing about it made me think - what if I did the concept but with a setting akin to Pokopia and/or Mystery Dungeon? Would the civilized Pokemon trying to mimic humans and the feral human who lives like Pokemon of times long gone work in a shared story?

Watching Pokopia gameplay and seeing how Ditto uses Stockpile to swallow and store items inside its body made me think of my MC having a Pokémon that uses Stockpile similarly. This Pokémon could store the opponent's energy-based move, either to Swallow it and boost its stats or to Spit Up and send it back. Think of Kirby

The fic is very Kanto-heavy and rarely shows and mentions things from other Regions, so it being such a relevant plot-point and device for the villain is very odd. Furthermore, it clashes with all the Psychic-type experiment stuff TR is doing and focus for the themes of the fic.
