Get something like a Charizard to get a Beldum, use that, Excadrill, and Blissey if you don’t have the dogs. Otherwise the dogs will almost always be 2/3 of your team. You can swap and build an attacker whenever you see one you want. Leeching on Gmax is how everyone does it since raids are like 40 people. They’re like megas where you probably won’t be able to solo them ever (barring some stuff like Mega Camerupt) and feel somewhat required to get to the top tier dps which is annoying if you don’t live in an active area.

Yes, meta is already defined well in advance and most of the good stuff is already released.
Get two Blissey to level 40 and wait for gmax mons to come back (Chari and Venu next month).
You might have to go to an in-person event to get carried. Hosting is possible but gets really annoying (too many retards and scaredy cats afraid of losing a remote pass). Trading is also an option.

Understandable. It's much better to do in-person raids (you get extra XL candies + it's way cheaper). Hosting isn't a bad idea either, but be careful with hosting Gmax battles as they require a significant amount of people (even shitmons like Gmax Pikachu are damage sponges).

Somehow managed to find a Chansey already, among the fields of Regices. Not perfect (13/14/14) but I guess 4 off of max IVs is pretty good. 1 out of 2 done already

at this point the priority is to just do more regice for stardust which funnels into your max team growth. out of your max mon the useful ones are pikachu abra machop ralts inkay and drizzile which funnel into megas and gigantmax. corvinight can probably be used as a tank with sand attack fast tmed through route end rewards. making a team of blissey pound, corvinight sand attack, and counter machamp or metal claw metagross with the front two mon having at least 2500 combat power or so. dynamax eevee line e.g. flareon, espeon is somewhat viable for attackers though kinda unnecessary tankier and not really attacker ish, with blissey being the best tank.

Depending how much you walk, you don’t need to worry about it much. Given the hatch days always have a 1/2 or something distance boost, you can empty out the entire box in <2 hours to fill up on the new eggs with just the free incubator. Focus on clearing the 2km ones with that and refilling with event eggs then, if you want to use the paid incubators, using those only on event eggs since you’ll get more value by hatching those while you work on the 2km pile with the free one

They only get up to 5, so if you check it at the end of the day and it’s up to that or you don’t feel like waiting for 1 or 2 more, then just recall it and place it at a new one the next day. I like to have 2 or 3 extras of each species I wanted to build just to candy farm when I was doing max battles often. you still need to clear a research a day for the research breakthrough that hands out a coveted remote or premium pass and the daily handout can be something inconvenient. unless you're shiny hunting I wouldn't bother. you only need to clear one slot for the event and if you plan to keep 8 more than that idk pop super incubators during 1/2 hatch days and actively clear out 10km eggs beforehand ig.

Since I’ve been shiny hunting Zam since pretty much it’s been shiny unlocked, I’ve amassed enough XLs to max one out with extras left over, just daily raids at first before I dipped into extra raid passes, even when it was available in its crowned form where I also accumulated enough shield energy to transform it, until this rotation where I went apeshit and did as many extra raids as possible. Most of the time I had a mega3 out and the majority of the raids were local so I feel a bunch of extra XLs definitely came from that, pretty much what >>59091716 said

Max bosses just have 2 attacks, a small one and a big one. The small one targets whoever has shields up (if no one does then it targets someone randomly). To dodge it you have to swipe left/right when the spider sense symbol appears above your mon. You can only dodge this type of attack. Then there's the big attack, which damages everyone and cannot be dodged; you do get a message saying that the mob is charging a big attack at least.

You can find shines every so often in PoGo (normal "gameplay"), but there are certain events called Community Days where the highlighted mon spawns everywhere for 3 hours and has a like 1/10 shiny chance. These are pretty fun.
So to answer your question, you will find Mons at a faster pace in Go than mainline games, and there's definitely days where you will get tons of shines, but you don't get to choose which mon it is so you don't really have the chance to shiny hunt.

NTA but to expand on this, the way you obtain your items (pots, revives and balls) is by spinning in-game "markers" called PokeStops. These reflect irl Points of Interest, which were submitted by players and got added to the game. There are also Gyms, which you can spin like stops to get items and are the way you obtain coins (used for buying premium items like raid passes, or Pokémon storage and bag space). In order to obtain said coins, you need to have your mon stay within your team's gym (so either yellow, blue or red) for at least 8 hours 20 mins (this amount of time gives you the most coins you can obtain per day, so 50). If a gym is of a different colour/team, you can take it down to put your mon in and claim it as your team's.
You get the ability to submit irl POIs in-game when you reach level 35, so it's not that a bad idea to be on the lookout for cool structures or things that could qualify, more so if they are accessible from your house. You do not get to choose if an accepted POI gets turned into a gym or a stop (there are a few requirements) but this info is just something to keep in mind until you reach that level.

For the genies specifically they're stuck in whichever form you caught them in as long as you keep them in Go, if you send them to home then to one of the main games you can change their forms but can't send them back to Go, same with any other alt forms you can easily change in the main games
All the other alt forms work differently for some reason, for the fusions and sword/shield dogs you have to do a bunch of raids to get energy for it and the dogs need to know iron head, and Kyurem only gets its special move if it knows glaciate. The creation trio origin forms as well as Deoxys and Genesect are stuck in whatever form you catch them in but origin Palkia and Dialga can't be sent to home for whatever reason. Shaymin, Keldeo, and Hoopa just cost a small amount of candy to form change

I came back to the game recently after a very long time, and my storage is a little fucked.
I think I'm only missing 4 Pokémon that need items to evolve (Simisage + Simipour for the Unova stone, and Weavile + Gliscor for Sinnoh stones), there's no reason to keep more than like 3 of each evolve item spare otherwise, right? I won't regret deleting the rest I hope

And about the TMs, what's a reasonable amount to keep? I haven't really used many, but I know I probably shouldn't have this many. Routes seem to shit them out too.

i keep two of all the mon specific items and just keep whatever i have of sinnoh/unova stones cause theres multiple mons that can use them.
you can comfortably get rid of 90 if not more of the fast tms, theyre effectively useless to hoard almost always cause most mons only ever have two or three fast moves anyways. charged are alot more important for shadows and if youll get fucked by mmove rng way more often

you can shrink those max potion and max revive stocks to as low as a third and toss all the regular pokeballs unless you have a go plus or are stranded from a pokestop. normal razz berry and nanab berries don't mean anything either except for buddy feeding and gym medal feeding.

sinnoh stones can also be used to obtain togekiss, gallade and frosslass, while unova stones can be used to obtain eelektros and chandelure, several of which are mega candidates

other than that, i would personally trim down to 10-15 fast tms and 25 charged tms, 3 of each evolution stone unless you're missing dex entries that need them, and 50 max potions/revives

Do you guys interact with the locals at all? I always just host through Pokegenie or join remotes, never done anything local. The Campfire meetups are too far away and the really local activity is pretty slow going, like a gym can go a few days without changing and only get 1-2 people in it.

But today I happened to see a nearby raid with 2 RSVPs. Never seen that before, and I was right near there. Then it became 3. So I joined too.

i would run around my local community centre sneaking into the car crew raids during raid days and i would add the locals there
